Thanks for the reply! And don't you worry, irl we all have our business. Take care and keep at it!
Oberic  [author] 14 Jan @ 12:21am
@Kofi my parts should always compatible with everything unless they use the same file structure as me; but that would have to be intentional or file copying to change things and make their own mod without double-checking every data point.

Btw mod ain't dead. I've just been raising babies, moving, can't afford internet, etc..
Just made a smallquadruped head, very dimwitted face, dust attack, I love it.
TheSilentAngryCat 25 Sep, 2024 @ 4:11pm
i think so
Kofi 14 Apr, 2024 @ 10:23pm
Hi! Is this compatible with other monster-part mods? Like for example Antimonster or Supper's Monster Parts?
Oberic  [author] 28 Feb, 2023 @ 10:11pm
Air? Nah, you can't breathe life into this like that.

The mod is functional and if I ever want to add more, I can. Y'all can make this stuff easy.
Bulborb 7 28 Feb, 2023 @ 8:18pm
air.
Oberic  [author] 10 Dec, 2020 @ 6:23pm
@Mixelscraft64 - Just the same as any other mod. I've had no issues using the subscribe button (unchecking it) to remove these parts or any other mods.
Some mods are unsafe to remove, like Frackin' Universe and other planet/universe altering mods. There are other mods that are unsafe to remove because they add things that the game can't cleanly replace (blocks mostly).

However this mod causes no issues when removed, so you should be fine to just unsub and let it ride.

@ everyone else - Sorry I haven't made parts in a ... very long time. It can't be helped with lifestyle changes and minimal incentive to make more.
Mixelscraft64 10 Dec, 2020 @ 5:15pm
how do i uninstall mods like these? cuz when i uninstall it there still there
PepinoBreve 21 Sep, 2019 @ 4:21pm
i' ve tried all the methods, it' s not working.
But thanks anyway
PepinoBreve 21 Sep, 2019 @ 10:49am
I tried using Alzip, it is not working, my Winrar expired
PepinoBreve 21 Sep, 2019 @ 10:04am
Using Winrar?
Oberic  [author] 20 Sep, 2019 @ 6:33pm
Just like, extract the files. 87 names is a tall order.
PepinoBreve 20 Sep, 2019 @ 6:30pm
Could you give the name of the parts, so I can try to build a monster on my own?
pretty please?
Oberic  [author] 14 Jul, 2019 @ 5:10pm
Could you screenshot it (an imgur link is a good choice)? I haven't encountered any issues like that with the few flying parts I've added.
But I also have not played since the update hit, aside from barely starting a character.
Rusty 2 Jul, 2019 @ 12:05am
Some of the large flying parts seem to have layering issues, they appear with a yellow X
Super Brasilis 18 Jun, 2019 @ 1:56pm
i hate bird monsters, for some reason i almost hate birds, not all kinds, just those that steal berries from the garden when you were the cultivator.
Oberic  [author] 15 Jun, 2019 @ 7:12am
Yeah. Unless someones uses the exact same filenames and file structure (I prefix my files with obe_ to prevent this), these parts should work forever and safely with pretty much everything.
Anook567 15 Jun, 2019 @ 2:46am
I mean like supper's
Anook567 15 Jun, 2019 @ 2:44am
does this work with other generation mods?
Oberic  [author] 16 Mar, 2019 @ 7:27am
The new part is a small quadruped body. It's a little gnarly/wrinkly, with "bone" rectangular pieces shoved into it.
Oberic  [author] 15 Mar, 2019 @ 5:20pm
Nah, it doesn't need anything and works with (or rather should work with) any other mod out there.
Sinnroy 13 Mar, 2019 @ 5:01pm
do i need frackin unerverse for this?
Oberic  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 9:10pm
/admin
first and when you're done, obviously.
From the interwebz (https://starbounder.org/Spawn_Monster_Command) :

Usage: /spawnmonster type [level] [variantParameters]
Example: /spawnmonster hugebiped
Example: /spawnmonster hugebiped 10

It's possible to add traits, pick specific parts and colors, all sorts of stuff, but I never bothered to learn how for monsters (though I did learn how and forget how to color armor/clothing/furniture).
Darrk 23 Feb, 2019 @ 7:28am
Oberic
how do i spawn monster generator
or how to build a monster
Oberic  [author] 6 May, 2018 @ 1:31pm
Yes. :)
FU would have to make a massive change to how randomly generated monsters actually generate to break this mod.
Grandgok_7554 5 May, 2018 @ 9:19pm
Mod FU compatible?
FoolMinato 7 Jul, 2017 @ 9:56am
Oh okay. Thank you.
Oberic  [author] 7 Jul, 2017 @ 1:17am
Of course. :)
Unless something changes with the way monster parts are stored or coded, the mod should work indefinitely.
FoolMinato 6 Jul, 2017 @ 3:34pm
So I'm assuming yes. But does this work with 1.3
Tanksy 3 Jul, 2017 @ 9:56am
If only I could have this and get rid of those fucking stupid unique monsters that just take up all the space that could be filled by random monsters. Those mods that remove unique monsters just never work.
Jaid 2 Jul, 2017 @ 12:26pm
Frackin Universe + this mod = death to all and any who fight the randomly made monsters
Oberic  [author] 21 May, 2017 @ 11:57am
I'll consider it for next time I work on the mod.
But vanilla Starbound already has several dragon parts.
Higure Komori 21 May, 2017 @ 11:23am
id love to see dragon parts wings heads bodies stuf like that
Oberic  [author] 14 May, 2017 @ 12:28am
What is it then?
I can't guarantee anything, but next time I'm making parts (free time where I can focus isn't common these days), I might consider it.. If it's something I can do.
Higure Komori 11 May, 2017 @ 6:52am
i dont know can i? xD
Oberic  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 6:16am
I don't know? Can you?
Higure Komori 11 May, 2017 @ 5:48am
can i request something?
Xaliber 9 Feb, 2017 @ 8:30am
@Oberic:
Understandable, take your time! :) I think this already gives lots of variety but more varieties are always nicer. I was thinking if I can help to add more varieties but I'm not too confident with my spriting skill.
Oberic  [author] 9 Feb, 2017 @ 8:20am
I'm going to try to add a little more variety as soon as I can.
Having a brand new kid is.. draining, to say the least.
Xaliber 9 Feb, 2017 @ 8:13am
@Tater Chipp:
Hiya, you still there? If you're interested in drawing the monster parts I can assemble them.
Oberic  [author] 25 Dec, 2016 @ 7:46pm
Assuming you know how to extract the game data, you need to set up the file structure the same as Starbound uses by default, and basically just copy the files for a monster part type and edit them to something new. Or you can extract my own mod file and see how I did it. It's good to put a prefix to anything you make to minimize odds of someone using the same exact filenames so as to not cause any conflicts.
If you set up the files right, the game handles the rest and automatically mixes your parts into the game, honestly monster parts are one of the easiest mods out there. Good luck!
Oberic  [author] 8 Nov, 2016 @ 2:27am
@Mixelsguy765 - Make sure the mod isn't in your Starbound mod list once you're in-game.
If it's still appearing, and uses some of my parts, another mod you are using is also using my parts for some reason (which I'd prefer to not happen).
Otherwise it's just vanilla parts or another mod that you may have.
Unless of course Chucklefish changed the way the game stores monster data, which I doubt, but it is possible..?
Mixelscraft64 7 Nov, 2016 @ 2:15pm
hey i uninstalled it but the monster kept spawning (from this addon)
how do i fix it!?!?
Sprinkles 17 Oct, 2016 @ 2:30pm
THANK FUCK i got so tired of seeing the same monsters with slightly different colours.
Bad Horse 27 Sep, 2016 @ 9:47pm
Just wanted to say thanks to Oberic and JAZR, I was having the same problem, and It's fixed now!
Oberic  [author] 23 Sep, 2016 @ 12:35am
No problem, always glad to help.
Jaden Ramalho 22 Sep, 2016 @ 10:59pm
wholy fuck man you are a life saverr
thank you so much, ive been trying to fix this for four days. ill be posting htis solution on all the forums, thanks bro
Jaden Ramalho 22 Sep, 2016 @ 10:52pm
thanks bro ill try that right now, ill tell you if anything comes up
Oberic  [author] 22 Sep, 2016 @ 10:48pm
@JAZR - Remove the old one, and subscribe to the 1.1 one. Make sure that it's applied before you actually play Starbound (can go into the game to check though).
It's literally the same mod, but the new one is updated by a new author. So don't use both (file duplicate crashes and stuff).
I made the switch and haven't had any problems since.
