it wont let me smelt scrap metal and i just killed a lot of tek dinos to use in it now i need to use a regular forge

This forge doesn't accept scrap metal

whenever I accidentally click to set forge/set burner it erases everything in the inventory

What does the obsidian forge do?

are this mod working or some change to the mod ?

So is there a way to dissable the super forge and leave only the balanced forges?

@Spacefam Last time I was using it everything seemed ok. I can't see why it would have broken but let me know if you find anything wrong.

Just spotted today you made the obsidian forge and the portable one. I immediatey replaced the vanilla forges on my smelter quetz and "worked" all day with your obsidian one. Worked perfectly, and became a very good alternative in my journey to the industrial forge.

Fänd die Vorschläge von szabferi wegen der balance sehr attraktiv. Bisher haben alle mods die ich für so einen Forge gesucht/ausprobiert habe einfach zu wenig kosten oder sind in der Produktion zu heftig.

@szabferi Thanks for the feedback mate. Balance was not one of my main focuses, I just wanted something that makes smelting a little more productive. This was originally intended as a better alternative to the vanilla version. In saying that though I can definitely work on balancing if it is something people are looking for.

So here are my suggestions - if you don't mind:
- increase the resource requirements to at least 3x of the regular forge (and maybe you could add some metal requirements as well). It has better performance, it should be more expensive
- make the size comparable to the regular forge, and require platform (or foundation) to be able to be placed.

- keep the original forge (small, portable, placeable anywhere) as a different type like "portable smeltery" , but still it should have much higher requirements (in terms of engram level and materials), however could operate on gasoline. Still, it might kill other aspects of the game, but it is up to the people decide if they want to use it or not :)


Again, I think you really found out what is badly missing from the game (mid tier crafting station), but in a balanced way to not to kill the existing ones.

@Cypha: great work, the game definitely needs a forge inbetween the industrial forge and the refining forge. I'm happy I found your mod.

However, I think your forge is a bit unbalanced (smells like a cheat :) ), maybe that could be addressed:

- material requirements are half (or third) versus the vanilla forge while it is triple as good, not to mention it's other advantages....

your forge: 65 stone, 2 flint, 20 hide, 10 wood, 20 fiber
regular forge: 125 stone, 5 flint, 65 hide, 20 wood, 40 fiber

- the size of your forge is incredibly small (actually smaller than a fireplace), and as it can be placed anywhere and picked up freely (and only 4kg when you pick it up), it can be used like a mobile portable forge. Very cheety indeed :D
