no shame in that, at least you did it lol
tundra  [author] 22 May, 2022 @ 6:32pm
it took me 5 years to update 3 lines of code
BASSCAT 25 Jan, 2022 @ 9:57pm
client side or does everyone need to use this mod for it to work?
ZerKoma 27 Nov, 2020 @ 2:38am
Can this mod be easily removed without problems happening?
eureka 8 Jun, 2020 @ 6:33pm
this stuff works for me in 2020, even with FU
Angel 22 Dec, 2019 @ 8:58am
Hopefully this still works, will be giving it a try with a variety of mods (including FU) in a little while.
Hotox 16 Jul, 2019 @ 1:56am
@tundra You really should make this mod compatible with other mods that do modify the dash.lua. It's not difficult to do so. Tell me if you want help with that
tundra  [author] 10 Jul, 2019 @ 6:18pm
@Augusonic This mod is still working fine on my end, you might have another tech mod conflicting with it.
Super Brasilis 9 Jul, 2019 @ 8:39pm
needs a update to 1.4
Josh The squash 1 Jul, 2019 @ 1:28am
Does this still work
Leman Osbeck Citriton 25 Jul, 2018 @ 12:15pm
Will this ruin my game in any way?
williamcll 11 May, 2018 @ 12:29am
This seems to conflict with the Upgraded Jump [Infinite] mod
williamcll 11 May, 2018 @ 12:24am
oh it seems to work now, must have been mod conflicts.
tundra  [author] 10 May, 2018 @ 3:20pm
I just tested the workshop version to make sure and it definitely still works.
williamcll 9 May, 2018 @ 5:39am
I don't think this is working anymore.
Enderzilla747 12 Jul, 2017 @ 2:27pm
I had to reinstall this mod because another mod that adds back the legacy techs doesn't fully restore the dash tech. I could jump and dash in a direction, BUT I CAN'T USE IT IN THE AIR...
tundra  [author] 5 Jul, 2017 @ 1:09pm
updated for starbound version 1.3. sorry for the delay.
Hotox 20 Jun, 2017 @ 7:59am
@tundra
Hey, I've tried to contact you. This mod conflicts with every mod changing the functionality of the dash. You can easily fix that by creating patch files for the dash.tech file instead of replacing the lua file. Message me if you want help with that.
Moonleaf 14 Apr, 2017 @ 6:50am
does this version actually consume energy like it used to?
I don't really care either way, but just curious, anyway, thanks for the mod!
Vivian Emoro 6 Jan, 2017 @ 12:06pm
While i feel it to be a bit "cheaty," it's sooooo much fun to mindlessly dash from area to area and have no clue of the time passing by.
[Arcana] Wandering Existence 6 Dec, 2016 @ 7:48pm
I can't explore without it 5/5 Thanks man
DivineDisgrace 23 Oct, 2016 @ 9:30pm
I am glad to see so many fellow souls that enjoyed the not crappy version of Energy Dash.
Grubadubdub 19 Oct, 2016 @ 1:30am
@Grey Rellik

Ever consider that the reason they give players access to the APIs and included a "mod" folder in the file structure is so that players can mod in whatever crazy, potentially gamebreaking stuff they want?

The devs had reasons for removing things, yes, but they also had reasons for giving players the tools to modify the game.
N.A 24 Sep, 2016 @ 12:44am
Grey, they already fixed it. I think you took that way too seriously. It sounded like a joke to me.

They are excited because some people enjoy just crazy, unlimited fun.
Xotano 16 Sep, 2016 @ 6:06pm
i kinda miss the flight ability from back before Koala really, that shit was fun, think it was the bubble tech.
starhorder 12 Sep, 2016 @ 2:50pm
Rellik will next suggest that skipping in 'Distance' to invalidate times.
Moognus 16 Aug, 2016 @ 7:47am
this is so good to have again
:steamhappy:
VILLAGE PILLAGE ⊕ 14 Aug, 2016 @ 7:05am
Grey Rellik, you don't know anything about how good it was.
So just scurry off.
Grey Rellik 13 Aug, 2016 @ 11:20am
Why are people so excited to "restore" things that were unfairly broken to begin with?
The fact that you can "energy dash across entire planets, only touching the ground about 5 times" isn't actually a good thing; it's practically a bug. Ever consider that the reason they changed it is because people were exploiting it?
[Arcana] Wandering Existence 4 Aug, 2016 @ 2:25pm
Yes! yes yus yasssss. This is the only way to quickly explore planets. Thanks for restoring it. 10/10
Linkirman 1 Aug, 2016 @ 2:13pm
Any chance of you "restoring" any of the other legacy tech? Koala was amazing, really disappointing that they opted to scrap most of the tech that kept exploring and creating fun hundreds of hours in.
clicker trained 1 Aug, 2016 @ 1:26pm
Cooldown is still there, seems to have no improvements on my end.
Aklyon 31 Jul, 2016 @ 8:34am
@vinchenzojackal&shoon Because the energy dash was not only here first, but is far better. Theres no need to have both.
6000j 31 Jul, 2016 @ 1:28am
Is it client of server-side?
Loune 30 Jul, 2016 @ 12:50am
Good to have it !!!
But it is kinda OP now, may be adding a cost of 3-5 energy per dash to balance it out ?
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:45pm
Why have both airdash from finished StarBound and energydash from the previous StarboundBeta? This energydash is extremely more potent than airdash... which is why it replaced with airdash. Mind you, I'd love to have both airdash and energydash, if energydash featured a very minor nerf, even only energydash is great with a minor nerf. I'll subscribe if you make a 'light' version of this mod. Right now I'll be happy to rate up and favorite this though.
Jacob 29 Jul, 2016 @ 3:51pm
nice
Xenon 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:08am
the mod was tech control swap. Odd because they used to work together
Xenon 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:05am
It's working again

Ω Spriggan Ω 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:05am
its a bit cheaty....buttt then again theres players turning invisable and phasing though solid blocks...
Xenon 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:04am
should I give my mod list?
Xenon 29 Jul, 2016 @ 8:49am
@tundra any known incompatible mods?
Rune Trantor 28 Jul, 2016 @ 5:45pm
Any chance you could add the removed techs, like Directed Blink? Nothing in this game had ever given me such fun as that tech did.
It's removal (Rather than say, push it to late game for balance) really sadden me, even more so than the nerf to the Rod of Discord in Terraria that was similar. D:
Doom Zero 28 Jul, 2016 @ 1:48pm
Speaking of things that were nerfed into oblivion, it looks like they intentionally removed the ability to shoot two grappling hooks at the same time. Would it be possible to make a mod that adds that functionality back?
Anime_Ori 28 Jul, 2016 @ 10:23am
you could replace the Air Dash with the koala version, instead of replacing the starting dash with it.
because it's a great thing to add it back in but, legitoholic's like me want to work really hard for somthing like this.
But I'm still getting it because it's awsome! and why not ya-know!?!?
Zalics 28 Jul, 2016 @ 1:52am
Kinda makes the Air Dash in game obsolete.
Maybe make this into a seperate late game tech?
Ω Spriggan Ω 27 Jul, 2016 @ 9:35am
although air dash exists now i just need gravity bubble. :P
tundra  [author] 27 Jul, 2016 @ 12:22am
@Daydream Puppeh you might have a conflicting mod. it still works on my end
Xenon 26 Jul, 2016 @ 4:44pm
This was working but isn't anymore
Vespr 26 Jul, 2016 @ 4:39pm
Just buy a hoverbike fam.
