I've a mind to suggest you make it glossy, as if it were actual snakeskin- but, the matte finish makes it look very good already.
This is seriously well done mate, I like it a lot. Even the background art compliments it well.
The scope could use a very soft sheen, though- as to not let it seem too plain. Perhaps just a hint of the same gold you used for the more vibrant looking scales on the body? Or maybe a more greenish shade of it? Definitely a color you've already used. Everything else is utterly lovely.
