this is kinda unplayable

Excellent! Could not see much difference from PeTI version except maybe the turrets were a little more aggressive. Still massive! And why do people ask about autosave. Using F6 and F7 seems to work fine for me. And... you don't ever have to drop a ball from above and hope it lands in the catcher!

the map will not work! ;(

If you're gonna modify this map in Hammer, please add some autosave points. Remember that Hammer has at least 10 times more flexibility than the Puzzlemaker. Use it to your advantage! I also found myself trapped on a ledge, where the rail platform is in the big room.

@Supreme Gamer, look for preview.vmf amid the map examples for Hammer. It contains Valve Map File data for your last rendered map using the Puzzlemaker.

I need to know how you got a PeTI map into hammer.

Am i right that at the last part of this chamber you have to hit the sphere-button with one of 3 balls by throwing it from above?
But what if ball stucks there without hitting the button? It should be fixed.

That was a fun series. Only found one error. When you spray blue paint on the walls to bounce over the water. I missed and died. My save pushed me back into the original room, but the wall between the rooms reformed, locking me in. No big deal since it was the start of the level and I only had to replay 30 seconds. Just an FYI. Thanks for the hard work.

@Rengor: Tnx for the comments on all 3 the maps. As for this map, it will be edited again when I come to it. I've done my first 4 PTI maps now so no. VII will not be updated in atleast the coming 2 months but I try to release a map / month (cause of few time left) so it will come eventually :)

Intro here certainly not as exciting as the first two episodes, but I see this one was the first Hammer edit you made.
The first panel use was different, not the typical kind of use which can be a bit problematic, though you really can't get it wrong here.
The indicator lights on the massive room can be hard to track to the track. If I jump down to place the first ball right away, thinking the track will go up (other platforms have moved when stepped on after all), then I'm stuck and dead.
The massive room was OK, but not terribly difficult or exciting. Or do like the fog and scale though.
I'm not sure how this map fits into the narrative from the first two hammer edited episodes. Those are definitely better, but then that makes sense if this was the first edited one.

OMFG... Just came from tmast's workshop to here (see comments... cool that you're constructive with other map-makers). I've been enjoying the few Opera maps I've gotten. Now to give this a go.

Had to start over, gave up.

found it hard
not complaining about that
the sound effects when the motion detector panels open,
reminds me of doom
round ball kept rolling away.
cube would have been better,
but perhaps this was deliberate ?
the structures obscured my view of where I had to go
& what I had to do,
perhaps this was also deliberate ?
could not anticipate bridge forming
so again, no clear Idea of what to do.
as for this being your first map
exelent.
keep up the good work

Can you place checkpoints in hammer? its annoying to have to start all over.

Got stuck in a couple places, and the final door to the elevator wouldn't open.

Difficulty 5/10
Fun 6/10

The large massive room design wasn't very nice.

wow... lots of places to get stuck on this one.. first room... 3rd room if toy drop down to place the ball to the right you're screwed.. needs work.
DannyVFilms 24 May, 2012 @ 5:30pm
How did you get the PeTI map into the hammer, and how did you make the motion detecting panels?
Interlude 22 May, 2012 @ 6:48pm
Cool map!
