Wolfofthenyght  [author] 5 Aug, 2022 @ 5:48am
Aww, thanks. It's nice to see some people are still thinking about it years later :)
Bog Bog. 4 Aug, 2022 @ 7:57pm
saw this mod before and wanted to get it but i had to stop my modding addiction 1 year afterwards and now i finally think of it
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 2 Nov, 2020 @ 4:50pm
Oh no really? That's so odd.. I'm not sure why, I don't think I added any type of world gen to it. It MIGHT be because it's so old? I wish I could fix it- I lost the files for this ages ago & I haven't modded Starbound in a LONG time, I don't think I'd be able to fix it even if I had time. Sorry about that :(
Chronos "Salty" Pliskin 1 Nov, 2020 @ 11:06pm
This mod still works, but according to sayter from the Frackin' Universe team it breaks default unlocks.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 2 Jul, 2020 @ 9:26pm
I'm honestly not sure tbh? I haven't played Starbound in quiet a few years & I lost the mod files for this in a HDD crash. You'd have to try and put it in your load order & check, sorry!
PentaSquares 2 Jul, 2020 @ 4:20pm
does this still work?
Nami 8 May, 2020 @ 6:57am
very good as a fashion, it just lacks clay cup for decoration, in addition the prices are reasonable continue like this
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 29 Apr, 2020 @ 10:42am
No, not currently sorry! I don't really play Starbound anymore, and I'm honestly not sure if this mod still works or not- there have been SO many updates since I last worked on this.
RevvEmUp 26 Apr, 2020 @ 3:03am
Is this still being worked on?
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 6 Sep, 2018 @ 1:12pm
I know *how* to do it, but it would be a bit of work for me to get it working right I think, as I haven't touched this mod in ages. I'm honestly still surprised it works through all the Starbound updates there's been. I may look into it, cause I really do like that idea! Thank you :)
Yose 27 Aug, 2018 @ 10:50pm
The amethysts and other gems in the game I'm playing are from Industrialization mod... I think it's a very popular mod... I dunno if your mod could detect if that one or another jewelry mod are installed and then make available the crafting of pottery with that gem incrustations using same item IDs as that mods. Industralization mod make appear gems in map blocks to mine, similar as ores. You can obtain gem seeds too, and harvest, as a crop, fragments of that gem to then use another machine to get the entire gem from fragments. I dunno if that is too much work but I think synergy between mods is so cool... Anyway if that synergy between mods is too much, only using gold and silver to top off the finished of some pieces should be enough to add the tag "valuable", and be inspiration to new pixelart.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 27 Aug, 2018 @ 5:54pm
Oohhh hmm I might have to look into that. Thanks!
Yose 25 Aug, 2018 @ 3:52pm
I suggest to add new pottery with the tag "valuable" besides "pretty" (Maybe with gold filigrees or gem incrustations) I'm not sure if gems as amethysts are vanilla or a mod of jewelry...
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 24 Mar, 2018 @ 8:25am
And TBF integration is fine. I know he used .patch files to reference some of my stuff in order to make it compabtible, as it's a common practice in Starbound modding. Honestly, 95% of the issue I have is his disgusting 'mightier than thou' attitude.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 24 Mar, 2018 @ 8:20am
It's fine lol Also, dude, I have NO interest in your stuff, all I asked was not to touch mine. I realize this is very out of date, but as far as I know, it still works the way I intended, so I'm not going to be fixing it when it's not broken.

If you want to go create your own thing, that's entirely your business, and I literally DGAF, I was simply concerned with the use of my assets (and code), which it seems you haven't so we're fine. Your self entitled attitude & thinking I would attempt to rip you off is incredibly concerning.
Hotklou 23 Mar, 2018 @ 8:04am
Yeah yeah, just ask her if you want to like integrate her stuff into other mods next time :-)
Jon Bon 22 Mar, 2018 @ 9:29pm
lol @ "I have no interest in touching his content" followed by "my Frackin' Patches mod already integrates his mod with the Frackin' Universe mod"
Also, the Author is a 'she' not a 'he'.
Robur Velvetclaw 22 Mar, 2018 @ 7:15pm
@Hawkeye:
I merely asked to collaborate on helping to complete this mod as he had asked. He refused. Unfortunately, he will discover, it will be to be his detriment. I have no interest in touching his content, and mark this - he had better not touch mine, either. That offer to contribute material to his mod was my first. And my very last.

Besides, my Frackin' Patches mod already integrates his mod with the Frackin' Universe mod. It has already been done. You have no idea how wonderful .patch files, along with auxiliary .recipe files, can be.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 22 Mar, 2018 @ 9:38am
Exactly, thank you <3
Hotklou 21 Mar, 2018 @ 3:51am
@Robur Velvetclaw - What you should've done is asked the mod's creator permission to try and change, fix or add some features to the mod. If he said yes, you change it and give him your version, so he can decide if he wants to keep your changes or whatever. Never touch somebody else's property without asking first. We know you meant well but you just should not do it.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 24 Feb, 2018 @ 6:20am
Yea, I never gave you permission to do that. Please do not touch my mod, thank you.
Robur Velvetclaw 24 Feb, 2018 @ 12:58am
@wolfofthenyght:
As a matter of fact, I already have a chiminea (graphics are ready and complete) - and have plans for other terracotta/clay-associated items besides. Suffice to say, one of them will be a primitive refrigerated food storage system.

It's just that I haven't learnt how to create upgradeable crafting stations yet. Nevertheless If you are interested in my ideas, let me know. I do not wish to discuss them in public. In the meantime however I will be cleaning up your mod,by adding support for race mods, as well as the text and the tag filters.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 23 Feb, 2018 @ 5:14pm
It's interesting.. but it seems like the theme doesn't really match. Mine is more decorative, yours seems more practical and tech based. I appreciate the offer though. I'll find some time to continue work on this at some point.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 23 Feb, 2018 @ 4:44pm
That's an interesting idea. I don't have as much time to work on this as I'd like, so it might not be a bad idea, but I'd like to research your mod first at least. Do you have a link to your mod so I can see how far you've gotten? Your profile is private, so I can't see.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 10 Jun, 2017 @ 6:09am
Ohhh no. That's odd, I had named it Wolf's Pottery table to make sure there wasn't a name conflict, but maybe it looks at the common name now as well. I'll look into changing the name of that as soon as I can so that they can be compatible. Sorry about that!
Robur Velvetclaw 9 Jun, 2017 @ 9:23pm
Quick heads up, this mod is NOT compatible with the Craftable Smashables mod. It was a hard toss up but I decided to remove the latter while keeping this mod. Apparently Starbound 1.3 DOESN'T like 2 items with the same name, "Pottery table" and "Pottery table" :(
HLFlare 30 Apr, 2017 @ 7:24am
Cha cha cha chia!
Astronomical 6 Mar, 2017 @ 3:25pm
Nice mod keep up the good work! Looking forward to the chima... uh.. chima-na?..... chimnea!
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 6 Mar, 2017 @ 7:46am
Yep, that's why this update is taking a little while- I want to make sure it functions correctly as a 'firepit' so that you can cook those recipes on it without having to have a campfire in your house lol
Robur Velvetclaw 4 Mar, 2017 @ 6:47pm
Damn, I should have paid more attention to Don't Starve.
Even so that would be a nice addition. Hopefully it does work too....
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 4 Mar, 2017 @ 6:42pm
Sort of- more of a contained outdoor firepit/grill. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chimenea :)
Robur Velvetclaw 4 Mar, 2017 @ 6:34pm
A chimney? did you say a chimney?
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 4 Mar, 2017 @ 4:08pm
Oh dear.. did I assume it was spelled a certain way? Oops. I'll see if I can change the display name on those without causing the item ID to change D: So sorry about that. Yea, I'll have a look at the torches as a light source- I'll have to fix that before the next update anyhow, cause the next update (fingers crossed) is going to have the chimnea.. if I can get it working. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!

This is what I mean by typo/copy errors.
Personally I think that the non-light source tag is the most serious of the lot and needs fixing first. This one too is somewhat annoying but is nowhere as serious.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 4 Mar, 2017 @ 4:55am
Whoops! Thanks :) I'll double check the descriptions- I try my best to spell stuff right, but sometimes I forget to double check xD
Robur Velvetclaw 3 Mar, 2017 @ 9:23pm
@wolfofthenyght:
I also found some typo errors. Nothing special there, but I will be posting screenshots when I have the time.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 3 Mar, 2017 @ 5:20pm
@Robur Thanks for the comments! I'm assuming what you mean by 'increase the number on hand' is increase the amount in the mod? As to that, I do have plans to, atm it's simply a matter of finding time to work on the mod xD And Oh no! I'm sorry about that! I could have sworn that I set it to function as a light source! I'll have to look at what the tenants are flagged to look for when I have the chance and fix it. And I would LOVE to make a merchant, but I think that is unfourtunetly waaaay out of my skill realm- I wasn't even able to add a plantable food item haha (I tried, it crashed horribly lol) I'll try to carve out a section of time to add in some new stuff and fix those lights!
Robur Velvetclaw 26 Feb, 2017 @ 5:27am
Hello, would like to make more suggestions......
- Please increase the number of pottery items on hand. Allow us to produce chinaware too, ie like creating pots using bonemean.
- The terracotta stand unfortunately does not function as a light source for the purpose of rentals so it is frustrating trying to create tenanted homes using it. Can you fix this?
- A pottery merchant would be really cool, especially if he can sell stuff like dyes, clay and bonemeal for said chinaware.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 17 Sep, 2016 @ 6:35pm
Yes! You're more than welcome to use it in a mod pack as long as credit is given to Wolfofthenyght (me, the author) and feel free to use it on your server :) I haven't tested it much on a server, so please let me know if there are any issues ^^
Jenpai 15 Sep, 2016 @ 10:11pm
I noticed there are no permissions on this mod... Are people allowed to use this mod in their packs and Severs?
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 21 Aug, 2016 @ 8:47pm
Awesome! Thank you for all the ideas! That could be an interesting way of 'painting' the pottery instead of making them in pre-determined colors. Take the pottery to a table to 'paint' it using the dyes and sand instead of using the dyes in the creation of the pottery. And maaaaany people have asked about making the current in game pottery non-smashable, so I'm going to probably make that next on my list of 'things to do'. Thanks again! :D
Man In The Purple Hat 21 Aug, 2016 @ 7:51am
I had a few ideas you may like! I was thinking instead of using just dyes to color the pottery, you should make a whole new set of glaze! it would need water, what ever dyes for the color and sand! I used to work at a pottery panting place in my old hometown and we actually had our own custom made glazes wwhich was very fun learning ow to make. So I thought uing glaze would be more realistic in a way, also a brick kiln would be awesome too as way to keep all the pottery cooking recipies seperate from the furnace to reduce clutter. Another idea I had was adding in all the vanilla pots, vase's, and smashables but making them non-smashable lol. Id love to see that added in! Anyways thats all I had in mind for now! and im not sure if I said before, but if you ever need help with pixle art, please feel free to message me! I could whip up the art for glaze's in a matter of minutes :happy_creep:! Keep up the fantastic work! -=MITPH=-
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 19 Aug, 2016 @ 8:01pm
Ohhh I like a LOT of those ideas Jon Bon! Gonna look into that and research it a bit! I had considered making some other objects (like the tea pot) though I'm not sure how many people would want them if they had no use other than being decorative. If anyone has some more input on that note, I'd love to hear it!
Jon Bon 17 Aug, 2016 @ 4:12pm
I don't know how indepth you'd want to go, but if ores/bars end up unbalancing things, you could create a 'coloring agent' type ingredient made in the kiln using the metals. Then you could use the coloring agents for the applicable pottery based on it's core color, and dyes aswell for any type of pattern/design that was applied on top. That way 1 ore/bar could make many agents, and the pots take varying amounts of agents, to help keep it balance at your discresion.

I also agree with using the pre-exising pots. I don't think it's cheap, I think as much of the pre-existing content you can encorporate the better, especially when it adds new functions, like non-breakables from previously breakables.

Have you considered non pot related clay and ceramics? Like a mortar and Pestal set, or salt and pepper shakers, kettle, Plates for display on the wall, Tile work (material block), etc, etc.
Altered Nova 17 Aug, 2016 @ 3:10pm
I would also love it if you could also craft all the vanilla pottery and smashable items with this mod. There are at least two other mods that do that already, but they both add their own crafting tables to the game as well and it's kind of silly to have two or three different Pottery Tables/Kilns at once.
Wolfofthenyght  [author] 17 Aug, 2016 @ 5:12am
Actually, now that you point it out, that's an excellent suggestion! I was thinking more the pottery would be painted with dye, but if there are enough ores to make all the colors for the pottery, that's absolutly something I can consider changing :3
Jon Bon 16 Aug, 2016 @ 2:09am
Aye, whatever the Author thinks is balanced :)
Thundercraft 16 Aug, 2016 @ 2:06am
I'd like to second the suggestion to include some ores as coloring agents, instead of or in addition to dyes.
Jon Bon 14 Aug, 2016 @ 10:12am
Great Mod! I noticed it uses dyes for coloring the pottery, have you considered using ores as the 'coloring agent' in the recipes? I only mention it because pottery is dyed with minerals in real life, not dyes like cloth is. Just a thought. But great mod none the less. Keep up the great work!
