dang thats alright i didnt know how it worked
Sir Greaves  [author] 27 Oct, 2024 @ 3:06pm
Modded players would only lack glow if they used the vanilla stat_primary.animation, otherwise they'll do whatever the mod author wants them to do, and I'm not gonna patch every modded species out there that glows. Sorry D:
wynter 27 Oct, 2024 @ 10:33am
modded characters dont still have the aura / glow , or atleast the ones i have
Sir Greaves  [author] 27 Jan, 2024 @ 5:17pm
Make sure to back-up your player files, too. Let me know if/when you figure out which mod it is, and good luck!
VoydFox 27 Jan, 2024 @ 2:22pm
unfortunately most mods i use will break my save if i remove them, so i can't experiment and try which one is causing that... how sad, well, i will backup by worlds file and check each mod that adds details to the game...
Sir Greaves  [author] 26 Jan, 2024 @ 9:21pm
It sounds like the mod that's changing the light based on your health is using a script. It wouldn't matter what the priority of this mod is, in that case.
VoydFox 26 Jan, 2024 @ 2:27am
can you not increase the priority of this mod somehow? or how can i do that?
Sir Greaves  [author] 25 Jan, 2024 @ 1:06pm
That's incredibly strange. There's nothing in this mod that would cause that, it sounds like a different mod.
VoydFox 25 Jan, 2024 @ 12:50pm
i died and it came back, after five second it suddendly dissapeared again? i'm not joking with this.
i came to the conclusion that the less HP i have the darker the aura gets, is it from this mod? i checked and didn't find any mod that causes this...
VoydFox 25 Jan, 2024 @ 12:47pm
update: the aura decided to slowly get darker and darker and is completely gone now, i logged off and back in in the same planet (jungle)
VoydFox 25 Jan, 2024 @ 8:49am
also, how do i check if "stat_primary.animation" is modified?
VoydFox 25 Jan, 2024 @ 8:49am
this is confusing ... on certain planets my aura is different?
on Forest, my aura is tiny and barely visible, on a planet i forgot it's completely gone and on other planets it's fully intact? so confusing, how?
Sir Greaves  [author] 14 Jan, 2024 @ 3:44pm
Right, so, this mod just patches the stat_primary.animation file. If another mod has higher priority or uses its own methods, it won't work.

I can never guarantee a mod's compatibility with other mods, and definitely can't make compatibility patches for all of them lol
VoydFox 14 Jan, 2024 @ 8:28am
hey, do you now have time and energy to look? it's not working at all for me, i'm curious to what the issue would be
Sir Greaves  [author] 22 Mar, 2022 @ 5:28am
It probably uses its own special config. I'd take a look, but I'm very short on time and energy lately.
Nezzy 21 Mar, 2022 @ 12:02pm
I've noticed the new Neki race still glows could that be fixed?
Gray Gravy V 28 Feb, 2021 @ 11:46pm
The reason why I go against lore is bc my ship pet is full bright with no lighing and im trying to get both the pet and my novakid to be full bright but not glowing like with player aura.
Sir Greaves  [author] 24 Feb, 2021 @ 12:59am
> Nova kid has player aroura still. very anoying please fix or seprete mod please and thank you!

Novakids have their own special aura because they're literally glowing little gas-bags. Humans don't glow, but Novakids specifically do.

But I guess I could add that to the list, TanzLO is a mod of many pieces.

This is one of those small things that is ESSENTIAL for my Starbound: The Modded Experience.

>Wait this is multiplayer compatible, is it, ive seen something the same as this which removes player aura, but they said that it only lowers brightness in the player who has it's screen, and those who didnt have the no aura mod could still see the players

Yes, it's client-side. Which means whoever has the mod will see the change, but whoever doesn't, won't.

It's cool, thx!

>I had tried another mod which does the same thing and it works for me : )
thanks for your answer

Weird. I'll take a look, but I can't debug problems I'm not having.
Athurrender 8 Jun, 2019 @ 6:24pm
I had tried another mod which does the same thing and it works for me : )
thanks for your answer
Sir Greaves  [author] 8 Jun, 2019 @ 5:43pm
>Doesn't work for me :(,my human is still glowing

Works for me.

If you have other mods, they might conflict.

Also double-check that you're not using a glow augment or glow armor or anything.
Athurrender 8 Jun, 2019 @ 8:21am
Doesn't work for me :(,my human is still glowing
Sir Greaves  [author] 10 Jun, 2018 @ 10:05am
>would the novakid still light up?

I believe so, they have their own specific glow passive that, as far as I know, is slightly stronger than normal.
Bitz 10 Jun, 2018 @ 9:15am
would the novakid still light up?
Sir Greaves  [author] 13 Feb, 2018 @ 11:17pm
>Question I have: Is this just a PIECE of the lighting overhaul to remove the player glow

Yes, all abbreviated (TanzLO) mods are just pieces of the whole experience, not a modification of the whole package.
Myst Leissa 13 Feb, 2018 @ 6:44pm
Question I have: Is this just a PIECE of the lighting overhaul to remove the player glow or will it suffer from the same issues with "Rendering Everything with Shadows" as the FAQ? I'm really looking for a rather non-invasive way to remove JUST the effect of the player having a glow - and not touch anything else....
Lemon 14 Nov, 2017 @ 4:45pm
@starscribe you can already turn that off in a setting on starbound
Fenrii 20 Jul, 2017 @ 12:14am
I don't suppoe you could find a way to make a mod which disabled/hides the aura that is visible on containers when holding down ALT key please. Looking for a mod to make it more challenging in finding loot in our multiplayer game.
Jay 27 Jun, 2017 @ 5:35pm
Becuase most people aren't bioluminescent.

Thank you!

Ola Wiewiurkola 5 Sep, 2016 @ 4:03pm
Okey im stupid. Work :D Player aura is gone, super. Thanks for help.
Sir Greaves  [author] 5 Sep, 2016 @ 3:09pm
>How to enable mod in game? Not work...

All you have to do is click "Subscribe".

If you're launching the game without Steam, it won't work.

If you have another mod that changes player aura, it probably won't work.

If you're trying to install mods while you still have the game running, it won't work.

Ohh, kay. :)
Sir Greaves  [author] 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:15pm
>I see you left the Novakid aura, with good reason, they are glowing plasma people.

I didn't intentionally touch or leave any particular species, just got rid of the generic glow. Novakids were given special treatment by Chucklefish, and that is why they glow. And can craft their weapons when no other species can.

Buncha rubbish. :c
Paradox 29 Jul, 2016 @ 9:01pm
I see you left the Novakid aura, with good reason, they are glowing plasma people.
Paradox 29 Jul, 2016 @ 1:10am
There are, :)
Sir Greaves  [author] 29 Jul, 2016 @ 12:16am
>Seems good, now I'll need to keep my flshlight on me at all times. :)

Flashlight, glow stims, a glowing pet, a glow augment, the mining helmet, there are loads of possibilities! :D
Paradox 28 Jul, 2016 @ 8:33pm
Seems good, now I'll need to keep my flshlight on me at all times. :)
