Blindrun
Had quite a bit of fun with this one. Actually took it upon myself this time to figure out how to smash the monitors, at least the first one was significantly harder than solving the puzzle proper. Second one was easier than expected - I figured I had to do a lot of steps over again when I already tracked in the right direction when I solved the test twice. I stupidly killed Franky at the end and almost regretted it - but it was easy to just grab another one and get the job done with him.

If there’s any logical holdups I had in the puzzle, there was a funny one early on, where I thought I absolutely needed the funnel to get past the fizzler, forgetting how I got over there the very first time 😂

Anyways, very well done.

Difficulty: 3.75/10 (main puzzle), 6.75/10 (with first monitor), 7.25/10 (with second monitor)
Enjoyed: 8/10

I know I solved this over seven years ago because I up-voted it, but I totally forgot how so it was just as challenging to solve it again!

Still excellent in 2024, thanks.

Very, very nice.

Nice one, I hoped for a second chamber where you need a cube.... Smashing monitors, why?
SpielSatzFail 30 Apr, 2022 @ 10:49am
Entertaining puzzle, but the real deal is monitor #1! I first solved the puzzle and smashed #2, then I had to step back and solve it differently to set up the connection needed to build up enough momentum for the other one. I assume that 4 panels are insufficient. It worked with the other floor surface that had 4 1/2 panels above it. Unfortunately even this wasn't 100% reliable...

I played this a while back but never smashed the monitors. Played it again & it still took me a while even though I've done it before, but this time I smashed them both. One of my favorites, thanks for mapping.

Very nice puzzle, still trying to smash Wheatley's monitors.

Great puzzle again as usual. Good to have these to keep me occupied during the stay at home order for corona virus. Thanks for creating.

I played this over 3 years ago and thought it was brilliant. I replayed it yesterday and thought yes it’s still a great puzzle. I played it again this morning, but this time I also smashed both monitors (without ninja moves!) and realised I’d got out, but in fact only completed half the map! The puzzle is even better than I already thought!
bullfrog 24 Mar, 2020 @ 4:19pm
Still a brilliant puzzle.

A primary-source solution for the second monitor would be great. current solutions are either Kung fu momentum or Ninja-timing. I doubt that either are the true solutions.

The first screen didn't break most of the times I tried, doing it the right way. It fell just short.

Faved!

Another nice level from BEN77!

Great map. I needed more then an hour to solve the puzzle. I was constantly missing one step to the solution. I vizualized the solution but I needed a lot of effort to make the combination right. Thank you.

Thumb up! A lesser-ninja way of smashing the second monitor: https://youtu.be/HI9vAkBvxe4

Returning to this test a good 2 years later, I finally figured out how to smash the monitor at the very end.

I felt smart solving it, which means the design was !

I was itching to crack the monitor, thanks for making it possible near the exit...:steamhappy:

Excellent puzzle! The cube swapping part was very clever. I knew I had to swap the cubes, I just couldn't figure out. It was a pretty original way to do it . Thumbs up and favorite :)

Amazing as usual.

Brilliant work, I too can't praise you enough. The puzzle was very cleverly made, it made me feel so incredibly stupid. My only complaints that make this not totally perfect are some mapping issues. The music that played when you hit the faith plate was entirely too loud in my opinion, I feel that more use of broken pannels and whatnot could've been utilized, and there MIGHT have been some optimization issues, I had some lag. Despite those tree things, excelent work.

9/10

Well designed, Took me more than an hour to solve it.

excellent map,i think i tried this map a long while ago and couldnt do it. happy to say i finished yippee!
qrioso 2 Feb, 2017 @ 10:05am
Very clever puzzle but i realize after a while that the key is swapping the cubes . After that all is easier. Thanks for this

why doesnt the cube walk.... seems disabled
gerversluis 24 Jan, 2017 @ 6:55am
Great !! You make me feel like an idiot for not seeing the obvious.
TaiMai13 24 Jan, 2017 @ 3:16am
Like others here, I knew I had to swap cubes but I couldn't figure out how for the life of me. And then I remembered you often make use of components that are used early and quickly forgotten in the process of backtracking and preserving portals that are your trademarks. You always come with fresh ideas BEN77. I'm running out of way to praise your mapmaking skills...
bullfrog 5 Jan, 2017 @ 11:57pm
Brilliant puzzle - favorited. Took me a while and a night’s sleep to solve it so very satisfying when I finally cracked it. Now to go back and do again + smash monitors :steamhappy:.
Phaaze 16 Nov, 2016 @ 7:56am
Fantastic test chamber... as for the screens in the main room... I put a portal on the floor of the other-screen-room, and another portal on the funnel entrance, sent the blue cube to it with the button and waited for the funnel to take the cube to the ceiling of that room, then put a portal on the wall facing wheatley and let gravity do the rest... but no matter how many time I re-orient it, it barely doesn't have enough momentum! Do I have to use the ground surface in the hallway the faith plate takes you to??
lfairban 14 Sep, 2016 @ 9:04am
Excellent! That took a while.
snowhog 7 Sep, 2016 @ 3:37pm
This took me a few days to figure out. But I liked it a lot. Good chamber.
quat 28 Aug, 2016 @ 3:35pm
Great map! Solved it and then had some more fun going back and smaching both monitors.
| \_/ () 27 Aug, 2016 @ 3:53am
I'm glad I spent the first 5 minutes to explore the chamber and figure out what is where. Because of this didn't start overthinking things, which helped me solve the puzzle rather quickly. I even said to myself that I expected something more difficult right before I saw the wheatley monitor room. "Now this is the main puzzle!", I thought when trying to smash it and when I did, it felt pretty satisfying. Good job as always!
wildgoosespeeder 26 Aug, 2016 @ 11:16pm
I knew I had to swap cubes but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to both be on the side where the frankenturret dropper is and get the regular cube there. I was so focused on portal preservation that I forgot the aerial faith plate flings you to the other side and you can always replace portals. I mean I got the cube over there on my own but I felt so stupid overthinking this test. :steamfacepalm: Good job!

Another fun Wheatley map :p2cube: managed to break both Wheatley screens on the second go-around.
kimist108 17 Aug, 2016 @ 10:58am
Lots of fun playing this map. Had to sleep on how to break the first screen, but had the ah-ha hit me as soon as I went back.
racknae 16 Aug, 2016 @ 10:55pm
Very well constructed test with a thoughtful, logical solution. Found it a little bit easy compared to some of your other tests, but I enjoyed all of the time I spent with it!

Спасибо, шестеренки в голове покрутились! Жду новых.
