Personally - Having ores highlighted and free matter manipulator upgrades (for a stronger mm) makes getting resources easier early on (and thus making the quest easy to do). Perhaps taking a look for other mods to enhance your gameplay early on would be helpful.
The mods I've thrown up on the workshop are changes I felt needed to be done to the core game (yeah I'm not a fan of the 'tech cards' or 'manipulator modules' you have to grind / rng for at the start of the game).
▒█░░░ ▒█▀▀█ ▒█░ ▒█▒█▒█ ▒█▄▄█ Free tech is a good mod download it!

You just have to be careful about mods that could corrupt your save after you unsubscribe from them (or just losing those mod-added items).
It may be that the mod was not downloaded yet.
This mod only changes the price of the default game's tech prices (if you have a mod that adds techs my mod does not change the price of those new techs).
I'm not sure about multiplayer compatible or not (I would guess that the server would probably need the mod installed on it and probably the players too). I've never played starbound multiplayer or ran a server sorry :/.
