I bet that was a really good mod before it become outdated, thanks for your work there are still some really good halo mods on this game, i just miss one who remplace the model of the Ring Habitat by a good classical halo ring lol

I do believe my models are out there, someone asked permission to re-use them in some halo mod awhile back and I said yes so they are out there ~ somewhere on the workshop

... I'd rather work on a actual Halo sim/sci-fi game and do the job properly than keep being dependent on another game companies backbone when i'm essentially ripping that one out and re-coding it to be for one single mod.

Now if I was making my own game entirely, I would ofc have no issue taking payment but this is very, very unlikely to happen guys so as much as it sucks, i'd just treasure the time had with the mod years ago in it's prime and let it go.....

That said, I would happily make a game but I don't have the contacts anymore nor would it be necessarily "halo" anymore as in my older age I've become very much mentally in-tune with starship troopers and become quite political + these days i'm considering writing as a outlet rather than modding though I still do mod games, just never anywhere near this.

What I'm saying is: "Maintaining this mod is a job in it's own ~ you'd have to be a mad lad to put the time and work into it constantly without payment or any financial incentive"

so while possible, I just don't see anyone doing it without... but i'm sure there's someone out there that would, just "if" they could deliver after getting my permission to do so as YF22 is long gone (despite the steam account active) I do not believe it is him.

If it was ever to be remade you'd need a new skinjob for the ships (the ones me and yf made in blender) + halo, and all other objects...then you'd need a small group of up-to date coders for stellaris + something to motivate them to proceed and continue working knowing full well at any moment all of their work can be broken and need 20+ hrs to fix...

Then on top of that you've got general maintenance...bug fixing, patches time to time ~ I honestly understand now why other modders making this sort of content ask for payment or some sort of help because it's all well and good doing this when your not in work and have unlimited time as some passion project but full time modding is a lot of work, more so with paradox updating it constantly... you may have luck there, but I've always refused to take payment for modding as I don't believe in it personally.

Aye, it'd need a full rebuild and re-code to work with modern variants. Considering coding all the halo events previously took over a year to do with 2 people, mapping out each keystone event, what happened, how it happened and forcing it all through a story line that while let the player create a path, set in motion key events with player decisions - that alone is months of work.

From halo's firing to shield world gran ting the only immunity to the halo activation... letting players restart the whole game all over and continue on what essentially was a new game +, working both inn multiplayer and single...all ai coded..scripted again... with other people trying to make small parts of this mod again failing to my knowledge

...i'mean you want to know how long this mod was, back when I first made stellaris mods my dyslexia is very, very apparent lol.... these days i'm actually not too terrible.

To be blunt as always, the real mod-killer thing across all paradox games is that they constantly update the game meaning that any work I/ anyone puts in instantly is broken or bugged out the second the next patch comes out.

People have always been free to update the mod so long as credit is given with a link back to the original salmael, just nobodies ever managed to recreate everything we did and get everything working the way we did back then. Yf22 is long gone ~ given china's internet policies and I've never managed to get in contact with him for years despite his steam account seemingly still active time to time but it isn't him, i'm convinced.

It's pretty shit, I know but I spent over a year on this coding wise and these days I really don't have the time or patience to ever commit to this level of modding unless it's a career and i'm a chippy by trade.

~ I'm still making mods for other games but it really depends on the game, il be modding starfield when it comes out but it does depend on the tools/moddability of the thing.

adding to my previous... if you don't have time or anyone else wants to do it, maybe state it clearly in the description that its not working? and if you DO have the time, than thank you, it would be nice to have something that is up to date, even if its short lived at least it would be more recent version of the game we set the game back to to play this!

man... i got so excited to see this i was like SICK! A HALO MOD I CAN USE FINALLY!!! but then i see it was last updated in 2016... and i can't use any of the DLC or anything AND its likely not going to work with other mods either.... well idk if you have or not, i just saw this, so sorry for saying something you have prolly been seeing for years, but have you considered making it free use for people to update? or updating it yourself?

a stand alone ship set would be nice, i don't claim to know how to mod but compared to the project as a whole it can't be the most difficult thing, and if your not updating the mod why not share the assets with the Sins of The Prophets team, i'm sure they'd appreciate it :)

To those wondering how to play this mod, go to the stellaris properties in steam, go to betas, paste 'oldstellaris' into the lower box and select v1.2.5. if you have any dlc, disable them. this should work

I do agree with master a little here, its out of date and they need to make that apparent for new players, or people who just discovered the mod. Some may have shitty wifi which discourages downloading big mods like this or in my case have storage problems, where they carefully delete the right amount of files to have room for this useless mod and then once they discover its broken they now have a larger cache for steam and even after unsubscribing it still doesnt fully delete it, so if you know where to look one would have to then go into their files and find this mod and delete whats left, taking unnecessary space like how this mod makes my game cause it will crash on start

You can NOT use this mod as the game no longer allow to go back past 2.1.

STOP being lazy and just remove the Mod as it's junk and miss leading for people who want a mod like this but it was left untouched in 2016 and the owner couldn't be bothered to update it - Why bother mod at all if you can't commit to projects.

You are just taking the glory for a 4 year old mod as you do not have the what it takes to update the game. No time or the drive in 4 years, i don't think so. REMOVE the mod as you are clearly enjoying people and the attention coming this way to a dead Mod.

I've made it clear multiple times on multiple mods that I wont be updating any stellaris mod of mine untill they stop updating the game and even then, I'm not obliged to update it at any time.

This mod was perfect in it's time but it needs a full rewrite and I don't have the time or drive, yf22 hasn't been seen for years and ofc It is not up-to-date nor has been for years so stop using it with recent patches :steamfacepalm:

:We moved past this version, this is and will remain up for legacy version of the game.

This mod is a joke it has not been updated in three years first off and secondly it does not even work. I unistalled it and got it again to see if it worked and everytime i loaded it my computer crashed happened three times. I removed other active mods to and it still crashed. Update to the current version of the game

This Mod would benefit from the "Sins of the Prophets" Mod, which has animated species. It doesn't really have anything else outside of Name Lists and pre-scripted nations.

You could combine your Mod with that and become what the Covenant thought the Precursors became...
