Ye ye I know, wanted to release the update last year (damn this sounds long heh). Anyways I am currently testing the compatibility with FU which is so far working but have to test more weather types first before I can release it. Not sure how much I can cover given that FU also has some specific actions with blocks and how much they are affected. The last thing I want is breaking any progression or machines or whatever. As for FU I am basically a newbie to all the interactions so it'll take a while. Sorry for the delay.

Atm I am doing a FU playthrough myself, so this should also benefit my testing. If someone has more insight on the weather types that cause block destruction feel free to give me a list so I can compare it with the current implementation. You will of course be added to the credits of the mod <3

Yea, somewhat. Haven't done much on the planned update yet tbh but will deffo be this year. However it'll most likely be the last update I gonna do for anything starbound related in the near future.

Truth be told, it's basically how CF deals with the entire product and that there is absolutely nothing done with it anymore. Sure there is the community developed fork, on which I have an eye on but yea.
On top of that there is the entire Forum situation which is also ignored by the devs and they dont even respond to messages from their own moderators. :^)
This has basically killed my entire motivation for anything starbound related.

thx for the mod and hope you are doing fine

Please look at the last comment I made.
The Caretaker 3 Feb, 2024 @ 4:30pm
is there a FU version?
Mia  [author] 15 Jan, 2024 @ 10:14am
Small update, I picked up Starbound again (you can thank no man's sky and it's never fixed bugs for that) and am dabbling into FU rn, therefor I am also testing around with the weather effects and which projectiles I need to alter in order to not accidently break something else. When everything's working well I gonna release the FU compatibility probably as additional mod tho I'll take a look if I can put it into the main mod itself. No ETA tho cuz I am struggling with health. It's done when it's done plus I need to get back into the entire Starbound modding stuff, been a few years since I did anything with that.

you actually can do something about it: patch it yourself

kinda sucks because i built a bunker on a scorched world and it keeps getting destroyed by meteors and i cant do anything about it
Mia  [author] 29 Dec, 2022 @ 4:05pm
Something that would still require time and effort to go through every assigned file and check for things in order to still keep the effect the way they're meant to be except avoiding the blocks breaking. It's not just "breakBlocks: nyuuuu", there is a bit more stuff involved. If effects are altered that are used by the weather then this would already need adjustments to keep things in order. It's still on my Todo list but there won't be an ETA anytime soon. Not to mention that I am not playing the game with FU either so it'd require me to go through all the necessary files. And that basically is time which I am not willing to invest in the near future due to other more important stuff that requires my attention and I am not forcing myself to something I don't want to do atm.

Don't get why you wouldn't add compatibility for Frackin' considering Starbound isn't a game without it. It's also not as daunting of a project as you think. There's a handful of applicable planets/biomes that would benefit from this that you'd only need to go through every 6 months, or year as their updates aren't frequently large enough to require you to "actively keep track..".

Dear god... You literally saved my life, you are my savior. No I'm not kidding at this point. I had to rebuild my large scaled village 3 times due to the goddamn meteor - I was losing my patient to do so......and I FINALLY found a mod to remove that damn thing. Christ. I cannot appreciate you enough, my liege, I adore you and I revere you.

Fine by me honestly. Not so sure about others, but I'm a pretty patient dude due to having allot of time available to do just about anything.
Mia  [author] 14 Jun, 2022 @ 6:21pm
Unfortunately this would require me to actively keep track of included mods on everything they add. ^^" And atm I am quite busy with FF14 and some other games. ( / w \ )

However given the big demand for FU coverage I'll put it on my todo list for stuff. No ETA tho cuz Starbound is not my highest priority right now.
Timtee [CVHN] 14 Jun, 2022 @ 2:57pm
Pretty sure that this mod doesn't really cause any problems given I've got it *and* FU, and the game runs fine. (tho tbh I wish there was a version of this that covered FU planets and planets from other mods such as Arcana, Maple32, and whatever else people may be using.)
Mia  [author] 29 May, 2022 @ 8:22pm
It will most likely only work on vanilla weather unless there are changes to that too in FU which could cause incompatibilities. I've never tested it thoroughly with FU and it's been quite a while since I last played Starbound.
HP Office InkJet Pro 6978 29 May, 2022 @ 2:06pm
You say it's incompatible with FU. Does that mean it won't do its job at all, or it'll still work on vanilla weather if FU is installed?
Mia  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 2:40pm
Nope and I am not planning on making it compatible as of now.
Juroguy Johnson 19 Sep, 2021 @ 2:26pm
Compatible with frack?
Altus 19 Feb, 2021 @ 6:28pm
This is a useful mod, stranger. :)
Chad-Thundercock 18 Feb, 2021 @ 12:40pm
it wont crash now
Mia  [author] 18 Feb, 2021 @ 9:42am
Please provide a log then. Otherwise i can't help.
Chad-Thundercock 18 Feb, 2021 @ 6:52am
i installed this mod and it kept crashimg my game and the only other mods i have is no ercius ghost and a moon music mod
Pyrite 5 Feb, 2021 @ 2:56am
i remember making an awesome moon base that i spent ages on, only for it to get completely destroyed by meteors
if only i had this mod
Lucky 3 Feb, 2021 @ 9:22am
Ah i see, never hurts to ask. Thanks!
Mia  [author] 3 Feb, 2021 @ 9:20am
No. It only changes the behaviour of said weather.
Lucky 3 Feb, 2021 @ 9:19am
would this mod help with fps problems at all?
Mia  [author] 30 Jul, 2020 @ 7:37pm
#FirstWorldProblems lol
Eevote 30 Jul, 2020 @ 6:45pm
Good mod, but I have to dislike because the image has literally nothing to do with the mod.
Morwys 10 Jul, 2020 @ 1:09am
great mod, thanks! I thought the block damage from those weathers was kind of cool, until I saw an avian village be obliterated in a few minutes by meteors.
Artur E. + Your Local Idiot 14 Apr, 2020 @ 2:59pm
It took me like 20 min. to find this mod. Would've been helpful if the thumbnail had some visual signaling that told me what it does. That being removing block damage. Not that the mod is bad, no dude I love you for the mod. The thing is that I confused it with some other mods. Hence the reason why I took 20 min. to find it.
Mia  [author] 14 Feb, 2020 @ 5:00pm
Glad it's helping. :slimehappy:
ScottyG89 14 Feb, 2020 @ 3:14pm
Thanks, Was restoring an apartment building in a scorched city when a bunch of meteors reversed my progress haha
Mia  [author] 7 Feb, 2020 @ 8:26am
Nothing i can do about.
Light Maker 7 Feb, 2020 @ 6:27am
It says Large and Small meteors. I thought those were FROM Frackin. If those are Vanilla then it's still not helping.
Mia  [author] 7 Feb, 2020 @ 3:53am
This mod is not intended for use with FU. It covers only vanilla. If it was for FU i would've stated it in the description.
Light Maker 6 Feb, 2020 @ 8:20pm
So this doesn't seem to be much help with Frackin. I got this so that meteors would stop destroying my base, they still do it, and quite horribly too.
Mia  [author] 27 Jul, 2019 @ 3:02pm
dunno if there is
43770gaming 27 Jul, 2019 @ 2:10pm
Is there a mod where Asra's Kunai Blast attack won't deal tile damage, as well as the player Katana not dealing block damage?
Slime In A Box 6 Jul, 2019 @ 4:48pm
I shall test that.
Mia  [author] 30 Jun, 2019 @ 1:24pm
Didnt find anything regarding new weather stuff so it should still work and i got no reports on it that it doesnt work anymore. FU compatibility dunno. When FU doesnt alter the vanilla stuff for the meteors it works. If it does it doesnt work.
cutieryan 30 Jun, 2019 @ 12:49pm
So, does this still work in 1.4, and is it compatible with Frackin' Universe? Because I only just want a way to to prevent meteors from blowing up my moon bases.
TrioAngelamVA.WliaAlfaD.A.S 24 Nov, 2018 @ 2:53pm
For person who builds on moon (moon stations) and such this is really helpfull great job.
Mia  [author] 24 Sep, 2018 @ 7:05am
It needs to be server- and clientside because it adds new projectiles for these weathertypes.
It wont work on a vanilla server because the weather and its projectiles are handled serverside.
van Grunz 24 Sep, 2018 @ 2:59am
Does this mod work client-side only while playing on a vanilla dedicated server? Or does the server need to have it, too?

@Iaeyan Elyuex:
I do have the same problem with any other race, such like Floran's on a volcanic tier 6 planet...
Mia  [author] 9 Sep, 2018 @ 3:32am
uhm yes
Naii Starwing 9 Sep, 2018 @ 3:02am
So, no more Glitch accusing me of destroying their stuff because they're dumb enough to build THATCHED ROOF COTTAGES on volcanic planets? Correct?
Mia  [author] 28 Jul, 2018 @ 3:19am
I will first have to take a look into the FU files for this and this mod is not my top priority atm.
Warboss Spriggs 27 Jul, 2018 @ 12:32pm
Will you be patching this to include the Frackin Universe weathers?
