I could get a lamp for 1500 in a waystation but in the build menu i cannot build it (Camping submenu). Needs any research?

Updated to include a means to use a lot at a new campfire. They should be droppable now. Also they now require a one-time purchase of a bug kit from hive traders - like sleeping bags (sorry for anyone whos game is far from there)

There is a CTD bug(not the edible ones either) when you try to remove bugs and toss them on the ground.

Have you considered adding a cookable item like "bug porridge" or something? It'd give your people something to do with all those bugs they collect.

@sleep thanks for the input. It would be great to do something like you said, but I don't think it'd be possible at the moment with the limitations of the editor. The best I could do is make the production time slower or add a building material

This is a great addition. It can make food too easy in the wet areas though. How about a mechanic that in areas where insects are most bountiful there is an insect tax. either biting insects or an increased risk of being infected (probably managed through bleeding wounds that take time to heal

I am neither pro nor con your idea.
Just to give some input, not because I think this is such a great idea:
How about you have to use the object for n hours to get food for 2 x n hours? Or 3x?

@ZanyScum thanks! Completely get what you mean, it's definatly a role play kinda mod. I've been thinking about how I could balance it recently. What about the idea of a catcher kit you have to buy? For 700c or so with enough charges for just 4 catches. You'd still be able to travel. But it's not unlimited food. Just a thought

yeah dont think theres any way to add building to nests you can only add material and debris ect but to make it quicker and since the honey hives need water any way the general rule was just place them by or near the great rivers in the lower half of the map but none in fog or as far as the flood lands

Squamousness, I believe they should be compatible with the general food storage. I enabled it I'm sure.
Abquint - wow you did it manually. Must have taken ages. I was going to suggest making the 'building' part of a custom nest. Then you can just apply it to a biome that you want and it will spawn in semi-random numbers and locations.

I'd just like to suggest an idea. Could you maybe make a storage bin for bugs? Like if someone wanted, they could set up a large-scale bug farming operation or something, I dunno.

nahh i think ive just about got it sorted added the honey hives all over the map as part of the mod took ages dotting them around the map haha

they arnt availible to build by players squad just like dotted around the map they either have no faction or just show up as whatever factions closeist to where they are placed, and added a building you can build to make empty honey pots from the stone world resource just balencing the nutition and market value levels can upload it if you want to try and compare to yours?

are you updateing this mod with your version of honey and mead etc and have you had any luck with the fish traps?

new idea have a building that produces empty rum bottles rename then honey vessels give the hives crafting capibility and you simply hae to seek them out in the wild and drop in the empty vessesls to get a full honey vessel? tbh i'm just trying ideas and letting you know them at the minute still trying to figure out all the details to get it working

i'm also thinking how i could help with the whole fish trap idea i think headhunter said i.e how to limit building placement so itcan only be put in water, but tbh i dont think that mechanic is even in game you could just build a box and put in a new item like cheap bait equals fish and place it anywhere i guess

just been trying few things a "building" for bee honey you could place maby the shell of a hive hut building scaled down and paired with a stone mine for the parts i.e look of the building have it use the water functionality and prouduce the custom item bee honey so youed have to manually gather it maby work? use a none faction i.e wildlife and manually place these building all over the map

That's Similar to what I've been thinking. Want to get a tree and make it a 'nest' minus creatures. Then it will spawn randomly and have loot etc. I'll play with it more over the weekend. But want to finish the prisoner mod too...

yeah i like the lone character game sometimes it be nice if the developers put in a few palnts dotted around the map that would give u a single green fruit or summit or some sort of fruit forageing and the like things like that

not the greatist idea nanogiraffe but maby you could add few buildings round the map and rename em as bee infested or summit like that? and save it on your mod useing the f12 option or maby add to spider nests a goodie item like spider necter, ambrosia something like that

it would really help out with running out of food early on and those raptures always destory my farms, it would be a way to get food for lone characters how are low on food in the wild

I agree, I've been playin around with the bee hive idea, and considered a nest in a tree but hit a few bumps (CTD) so might take me a while to figure out.

i don't know I think it would have to be a buildable thing due to the desert theme, maybe have both one that gives only a tiny bit the natural occur and one that give more at a increased speed
