Another idea for this one. Put it on a top hat with an obvious microphone. Or put it in the badge slot as is.

Just because it's easier to put it on his forehead seems like a cop-out. If it was a reference to something I could go for that, otherwise it just dosen't seem right. Stuff like the camera beard is conspicuously inconspicuous, whereas this is just plain conspicuous. If it's meant to be in a misc and not as headgear, could you please show it with some hats? If it is partially obscured by a hat that would be great and I'll rate it up. Otherwise keep it as headgear and give the tape recorder its own hat from which it can poke out.

I like the idea, especially on his head, but it seems... too bland. Try making it a "Flipped up" mask, or a head band. Or atleast something to stick around his balaclava, like a mask string. Just tape and a recorder doesn't seem very interesting. Great job, and amazing concept, but could be a little more extravagent.
