nice mod idea
Alessondria  [author] 17 Aug, 2023 @ 12:56pm
I seem to have got a few rewards this week for this. Cool thanks!

I just want to say to everyone I made this FOR the last version of Starbound which was 1.3 (before bounty hunting was added). I would think many things were not touched by that update but stuff introduced was never messed with or changed for the current version of the game.

There are no plans to continue this project for 1.4 but who knows what the future may bring. If anyone wants to take up on this to expand it (in the same OMFG THIS IS NUTS spirit) by all means please do so, just add a small mention to this original mod in your description.

The reason I did that was to encourage you to pack up your pixels with the compressor and make it so you actually would use all the weapons you found. Gave it more a reason to use crafting to make multiple armor sets. Make little outposts on worlds where you turned into checkpoints and stash your loot. Just don't play the peramdeath high game setting and you should not need to worry about item drops. I liked it but it was just a headache sometimes.

thank you... Oh, I see... Although I'm making my own collection, I want more friends ww

I think the annoyance of losing everything completely (naked) can be solved by the equipment reserves on the ship and safety colonies, so that it can be like "escaping from Takov"
Alessondria  [author] 5 Mar, 2023 @ 12:17pm
Oh yeah I don't play this latest version of Starbound. I really don't play the game anymore but I DO have a giant modpack on a server from past version I worked heavily on to make everything run good. If you would like to take up the torch and re-release it go for it, but EVERYONE hated the 'drop EVERYTHING on death' I added. Its cause a bit of rage in my personal experience too :D And if you wanna play the past version with my modpack (you can duel install) hit me with a friend request babes.

I want to know when this excellent mod will have a reset version...:SBmm::SBmm::SBmm:
Alessondria  [author] 29 Jun, 2019 @ 12:13pm
Some 1.3 items were never done. I stopped working on this but what it does do will still work without issues (unless another mod you run overwrites... the higher mod number/ name will be the winner).

TLDR Yep.

1.4 work?
Alessondria  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 11:33pm
Hey glad it floats your goat :hcs_tiffany:
Anime_Ori 18 Jan, 2019 @ 11:24pm
I've been looking at this mod for a while and have finally come around to subbing to it.

So far its really fun! the game was always sort of a push over, because I would have all the best stuff by the time I was getting the Floran artifact, and an abundance of usless pixles in my inventory.

I'll probably have this in all the rest of my playthroughs as long as it's being updated, Great idea and mod you have here. Thanks!
Aile 6 Jan, 2019 @ 4:52pm
ok ty
Alessondria  [author] 6 Jan, 2019 @ 4:37pm
Nope. By default races don't have traits and I don't use anything that adds them.
Aile 6 Jan, 2019 @ 4:33pm
did you add in a race trait remover?
Alessondria  [author] 21 Aug, 2018 @ 5:33am
Nope wont make it modular not even on request. You are, however, free to extract it and do it yourself for personal use. If you include my work in something, even as a base, please be kind enough to leave me credit on your page with an link to this page.
Sullivas 20 Aug, 2018 @ 9:11pm
Can you seperate the hand crafting mod? I love it so much and I need it for every modpack collection I make, without the incompatibilities of the other parts of this mod.
IUSTINUS 17 Aug, 2018 @ 6:28pm
lol i know. I asked you because i didn't want to spend 1000 hours editing all the recipies lol. I probably will do something on my own, and credit you of course.
Alessondria  [author] 17 Aug, 2018 @ 5:42pm
Nope. I don't use FU because its not balanced to pixel craft and would take a stupid amount of time to make that work with this... plus doing updates. I will never support FU or just the ores.Do it yourself if you really want to just if you upload it give me credit and link them here. Bottom lime is I'll never support another mod. Sorry.
IUSTINUS 17 Aug, 2018 @ 5:23pm
Im glad im not the only one who thought the game was too easy, what with all these mods that make the game easier.

With that said do you plan on making a patch for FU ores and ingots to match the changes you made here?
Alessondria  [author] 27 May, 2018 @ 7:14pm
You want to extract this mod from steam workshop. Tutorial about how s on the forums. You want to get a folder of loose files and use Notepad++ to read them, edit them. Unsub to this mod once you get em extracted or you'll have the extracted one + steam workshop of the same (more or less) mod. Loose mods go into your starbound root 'mods' folder. The whole folder with loose files goes there. If doing all of this is beyond your grasp looks like you'll have to just not use it or use it as is.

The values you change yourself never change though. Unless of couse you delete those folders you made or resubscribe to a mod you had unsubbed to. That may overwrite stuff. Not sure what else to say. Good luck?
lightenebrus 27 May, 2018 @ 5:28pm
Good evening,
It's still me, I wanted to edit mods to modify certain value and for a while it worked, my game that launched very well and the change of value was taken into consideration. Now it is impossible for me to modify a value the game does not run anymore I followed you some advice in Subscribe, extract, unsub and edit. it had worked but no longer, I do not understand, so I looked on the net but I have not found the solution.:steamsad:
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 5:15pm
Thank you for everything and sorry for my bad english good evening and good luck. :steamhappy:
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 4:57pm
Yep sorry for your issue. Starbound does load mods numberically or alphabetically. If you have a conflict its a mod that is higher number then this workshop mod. I extracted all mine from steam workshop, renamed each folder and tweaked each for my server. Oodles of work involved but it works great now the way I want it to. Good luck and have a safe/ fun memorial day weekend.
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 4:54pm
In any case sorry for the inconvenience, thank you for responding so quickly.:steamhappy:
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 4:41pm
+ Removed all recipes from empty hands crafting menu except the Inventor's Table. Moved these recipes to tier 1 wooden workbench (timber) and tier 1 foraging table (everything else)
+ Adjusted crafting recipe for Inventor's Table to not require timber and costs 100 pixels (starting amount).

If that does not solve your issue its a mod conflict.
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 4:38pm
I made the table of the inventor and the wooden workbench but I do not have access to the torch, campfire, bow, ...
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 4:33pm
inventors bench. You need timber to make the next one.
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 4:30pm
I have nothing that allows me to do anything else in woodworking bench. in any case nothing that will allow me to make what I miss. I may have to remove the mods that had the awesome area.:steamsalty:
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 4:24pm
I have no idea what its called. I moved most of the stuff to there. You make a bow and hoe in that one by deault.
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 4:22pm
I do not have the survival bench . Maybe the mod is in conflict with another of my mods. :steamsalty:
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 4:15pm
its in the suruvual workbench where you craft a hunting bow ^_~

progression at start is inventor's bench, woodworking bench then survial bench. I forget what its called.
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 4:13pm
yes yes I read but I can not do anything about all that no torch, campfire, salve and others :steamsad:.
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 4:00pm
correct everything is moved to a workbench of some kind. I wanted to make it like dwarf fortress :steamhappy:

timber is woodworking bench and things like fires, campfires, flags are in survival bench. Tier one of course. Read the long destription above.
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 3:56pm
I did not find how to remove the restriction and especially I launched a new partit and I can not make any more starting objects even in the workbench :(.
Alessondria  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 10:48am
Sure. Subscribe, extract, unsub, edit. Lots of work went into this but it should be pretty easy to change. How-to in froums here. Good luck and thank you!
lightenebrus 24 May, 2018 @ 10:46am
Hello,
Thank you for this mod, I would have liked to know if it was possible to completely or partially remove the restriction of manufacture of basic objects and keep torches, campfires, ropes and salve.
Alessondria  [author] 16 May, 2018 @ 6:07am
Yep you have to pick and choose which EPP you need. Craft backups because if your only rad resist drops on death you'll need another rad resist epp to retrive it! Great long term grindy co-op mod this one.
Eris Vizierre 16 May, 2018 @ 6:00am
oh. No wonder I was confused after my friend made me get this mod through his modpack.

THE COOLING EPP DOESN'T GET THE PREVIOUS TIER EFFECTS.
Umbreon™ 4 Apr, 2018 @ 8:38am
I got around to testing a few mods together, and unfortunately Pixel Craft conflicts with Matter Manipulator Manipulator, however it merely reverts the required upgrades and the Tier 3 bonuses Pixel Craft had, so the game doesn't break or anything. I might just keep both too, so I can just keep the regular manipulator.
There could possibly be another mod conflicting with Pixel Craft but so far the core of the mod (making pixels actually important) is working as it should.
Umbreon™ 3 Apr, 2018 @ 10:52pm
Loss of all items is pretty crazy, but it does force you to actually be careful not to die and to prepare for everything, which I'd totally like. I'll give your mod a try if the dungeons/villages really aren't *that* affected, though.
Alessondria  [author] 3 Apr, 2018 @ 10:47pm
That just reduces some of the buildings on all the planets. There still are plenty of surface and underground buildings just not 10 on like every world now. Some will have more and some may feel untouched. That change was made to increase the exploration aspect of the game. Normally it's like an 80% chance to find a floran dungeon on a forest world which is a little absurd. Now if you want to find dungeons you just have to explore a bit more. It sounds worse then itis, I assure you. The biggest change is dropping everything on death. Weapons, armor, supplies... eveything. Everyone has bit he'd about that since the mod went live. If that's not your cup of tea then the spirit of Pixel craft may not appeal to ya as that is one of the core concepts I forged the entire mod around. And my personal modpack.
Umbreon™ 3 Apr, 2018 @ 10:33pm
I don't mind it being hardcore, I am trying to set up a modlist to replay Starbound in a much harder setup. Though I'm not so sure I like the 75% reduced dungeon/village spawns... Any way I can possibly change that myself, maybe to half of what you did?
Alessondria  [author] 3 Apr, 2018 @ 9:56pm
Not to edit them but to see if they will overwrite one another. Other then that I can't assist you with another mod, sorry babes. If Pixelcraft sounds fun give it a try on a new universe and a new character. Its gonna be pretty hardcore though.
Umbreon™ 3 Apr, 2018 @ 9:53pm
I'm not really so much for trying to edit mods myself, but thanks for the reply either way.
Alessondria  [author] 3 Apr, 2018 @ 8:09pm
Yes bigger mining area and speed. That upgrade costs a lot more though. I have no idea if it would work with another mod or not but if it edits the same thing then no. Which ever mod is named larger through (however steam determines that) would win the conflicting file. You can always extract the mod and tweak it and see if its gonna overwrite stuff.
Umbreon™ 3 Apr, 2018 @ 7:52am
When you say that the Tier 3 Manipulator upgrades are increased by 100%, does it mean the manipulator will have a bigger mining size and speed? And if so, is this compatible with mods like Matter Manipulator Manipulator?
I would hate to get so far with the upgrades only to run into a conflict and be unable to bring my mining size down at will.
Alessondria  [author] 27 Jan, 2018 @ 9:00pm
They were moved by me. The only thing you can craft without a 'work station' is the starting inventor's table. Timber is in woodworking bench and stuff like torches are in the foraging table. Read through the mod description on this page again.
Aile 27 Jan, 2018 @ 8:19pm
Hello for some reason the recipe for campfire rope and some others are missing completely. Can you please tell me if they where moved or if it is a conflict with things like frackin universe?
AtlasMors 7 Jan, 2018 @ 3:59pm
definitely
Alessondria  [author] 7 Jan, 2018 @ 3:17pm
Here's a tip I learned wen playing with my mod, only craft what you need and punch holes in the back of dirt stone for light instead of using torches. Also, pick your torches up after you're done. It'll save you a lot over time.
Alessondria  [author] 7 Jan, 2018 @ 3:13pm
lol YEP! Make a base camp. Leave your materials and everything else. Always have backups and backups of backups. Sucks later on when high tier items cost a lot to make and if your best weapon falls down into a giant lava lake you can't burrow down under... I dunno to me it really compliments the whole 420,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo procedural planet theme where you constantly amass a giant arsenal of gear but never use anything but like 2 or 3 weapons. Its great if you do co-op with it too.
