This makes monsters move very slow when they use a charging attack (like crustoises)

@Alex Kersar Thank you a lot for the report with the swiming system having the FU Mod, i was having the same issue and this helped me take care of the issue. Basically i uninstalled this mod :P

Does this work with Supper's Combat Mod?
n00bonicPlague 21 Aug, 2022 @ 7:04pm
The mod has some unusual effects on ground-based monsters. When they do a sprint attack on flat ground, the increased friction causes them to move about the same speed as they normally would when trying to chase you. However, the moment they lose contact with the ground, the increased mid-air control makes them lunge to their full sprinting speed until they touch the ground again.

Other than this, this mod feels pretty good – especially the firmer stops. I just gotta unlearn many of the bad movement instincts I learned from this game. Only other mods I'm using are some performance enhancing mods that keep my potato from baking itself.

Im sorry but what.
Super Brasilis 12 Aug, 2022 @ 4:20pm
Why weight is multiplied, do you can apply this in real life? try use your mod for real.
AlienIsTired 12 Aug, 2021 @ 8:54am
it really sucks that frackin intentionally makes itself uncompatible with other mods
Alex Kersar 17 Apr, 2021 @ 4:09pm
Hello there guys, i'm here just to report a minor issue: if you're using frackin universe, it will break the swim sistem, you will only be abble to skid in water only.
Hear this report with a grain of salt(not 100% sure).
DukeyNukey 23 Mar, 2021 @ 1:31pm
so like megaman movement?
Aida 28 Feb, 2021 @ 3:33pm
RIP. This mod was good when it worked, but no longer.
Shithead 29 Jan, 2021 @ 12:15pm
I love this mod but it's no longer compatible with frackin universe.
pikmin189 19 Jan, 2021 @ 10:09am
this mod is absolutely wonderful, but just a quick question is this FU compatible or is my inability to swim just something else? (I just tested by making a pool of water where my character is not standing. I press down but i instantly just float to the surface. It might be another mod but im bringing this up just in case)
Solzucht 20 Dec, 2020 @ 4:45am
aha! this one did it xD
i allready wondered.
but pretty sure FU caused that via an update, since when did this mod update?
X7 13 Dec, 2020 @ 8:58am
Swimming is broken
Roman 29 Nov, 2020 @ 6:53am
Causes broken water physics for player after stepping on FU jelly blob block.
Viatorem 28 Nov, 2020 @ 8:34pm
worked amazing up until a little while ago, breaks water physics when you step on a slime glob and go into water with the status effect.

How do I configure this mod to change the jump back to normal?
43770gaming 7 Dec, 2019 @ 6:44pm
When you said "Less Floaty" I was afraid this would mean that my fall speed would increase.
Oh yeah, that reminds me......
can you make the Move Down key increase your fall speed midair, similar to how Kirby and Smash Bros does?
Wolf The Gamemaster 24 Jul, 2019 @ 6:41am
it makes the movements way worse from what ive seen but only when in the air like mid air after a jump or when falling everything else isnt that bad
Retr0  [author] 8 Jul, 2019 @ 11:15pm
@eduardokirbyfun @Reaper Levaithan, the mod should work as intended on version 1.4 even before the fixes I've posted. perhaps another mod is interfering with my mod? It'd be very unlikely though. If the mod still isn't working properly--even on a clean install--please tell me!

@joey of rivia, swimming works fine as far as I know as I just tested it. I can't really see how this mod would effect swimming besides making your character sink slightly faster.

@BTX @The Starbound Scout, fixed :D

@Xaliber @Huraqan, fixed as well :D
Astra 20 Jun, 2019 @ 2:12pm
@Donutking it's broken because of the 1.4 update
RustedRegime 18 Jun, 2019 @ 2:53am
A long time ago there was a better varient of this mod that got removed. why and how Better you may ask? well it didnt heckin break starbound completly.
great knees and beautiful brain 3 Apr, 2019 @ 10:36am
swimming seems broken with this :s cant swim up
Astra 20 Jan, 2019 @ 8:23pm
Makes the wall jump tech ten thousand times better.
Hats off to you.
Bits 2 Jan, 2019 @ 4:21pm
A late answer for the starbound scout, it is possible. Hell, Its even possible WITHOUT the pulse jump. Ropes are a blessing.
Renako 19 Jul, 2018 @ 11:13am
I love this mod, but I found a problem while using it:

If you go to the 'Pulse Jump' tutorial area, one of the jumps is probably now made either impossible, or extremely hard to pull off. :steamsad:
Huraqan 21 Jan, 2018 @ 10:21am
Very cool, it's a shame that the grappling hook isn't working anymore :/
Xaliber 21 Nov, 2017 @ 8:53pm
No worries, it's not a big deal :D Just found out by accident :p
Retr0  [author] 21 Nov, 2017 @ 2:33pm
@Xaliber, haha, I've never realised that the grappling hook breaks when using the mod. Then again, I tend not to use the tool in the first place. I'll look into this issue when I have the time.
Xaliber 21 Nov, 2017 @ 9:47am
I didn't know I can do this with LFM installed... https://gfycat.com/FrighteningDefinitiveGemsbuck :p
ptr1ck 28 Oct, 2017 @ 3:22pm
Thank you much for this mod. The sliding around was driving me crazy.
Fishy Cube 22 Aug, 2017 @ 10:52pm
Thank you author, i was dying from falls a lot because the movement feels different than terraria, now it feels about the same.
Bluetail 25 Jun, 2017 @ 9:00pm
Oh I have used it in Multiplayer and it works just fine!
Lyra 25 Jun, 2017 @ 4:36pm
I do not think this mod is clientside at all. A clientside mod is a mod someone can have with nobody else on the server having and it'll all work hunky dory. Considering this changes gravity and other things like that, I wouldn't imagine this is clientside. But hey, never tested that myself.
Bluetail 24 Jun, 2017 @ 7:09pm
Alright, thanks
Retr0  [author] 24 Jun, 2017 @ 6:42pm
@BlueNightfury The mod is clientside and thus will only affect clients with the mod installed.
Bluetail 24 Jun, 2017 @ 10:30am
Cilentside or ?
damocleas 20 Jun, 2017 @ 10:32pm
Ah yep, working, just still felt a little speedy randomly, probably my mobility augment or something moving me farther.
Retr0  [author] 20 Jun, 2017 @ 6:37pm
@damocleas Hmm, I just tried the mod out on 1.3.1 (latest version) and it seems to work fine. Perhaps a different mod is conflicting with Less Floaty Movement. To test if the mod is working, disable the Less Floaty Movement, and in Starbound after jumping attempt to land from your jump start point. Then, with the mod enabled, try it again. With the mod enabled you should be able to land where you jumped from.
damocleas 20 Jun, 2017 @ 5:04pm
Feels broken in 1.3, I don't feel a difference, so it probably is. Please fix!
Retr0  [author] 16 Feb, 2017 @ 12:23am
@Xannthas, Frackin Races and bk3k's Variable Planet Sizes don't seem to conflict with the mod as far as I know. If the aerial movement feels different at all after installing this mod, that must mean that there arn't any mods that are conflicting with it. If a mod were to conflict with Less Floaty Movement it wouldn't work at all. As for the decreased fall damage, it compensates for the increased gravity multiplier which forces your character to accelerate faster than in vanilla when falling. As a result, your character takes more fall damage than normal if the decreased fall damage was removed.
Czaele 15 Feb, 2017 @ 11:14pm
Checked: bk3k's Variable Planet Sizes was the name of the mod.
Czaele 15 Feb, 2017 @ 11:13pm
Ground movement feels nice, but the aerial movement somehow feels MORE floaty and the reduced fall damage is a definite no from me. We're already falling and surviving distances 10x our height, so the fall damage tweak seems strange. As for the floaty air movement, I refuse to believe that it's working correctly, so I checked through my mods and the only ones I can think of that could have a conflict is Frackin Races and a mod I forget the name of that adds a wider variety of planet sizes.
Dustreaper 17 Jan, 2017 @ 6:35pm
Thanks will try this mod out in my next playtrough. ( owned the game from beta but never Finished the story)
Retr0  [author] 17 Jan, 2017 @ 5:19pm
@Silver Knight, I launched Terraria for the first time in months just to figure out if there is any difference between the movements and it appears that Terraria's movement is less precise than what this mod carries. However, Terraria's movement system feels perfectly fine as accessories that affect movement fix any inconsistencies while jumping.
Dustreaper 17 Jan, 2017 @ 12:10pm
Could you compare this change to the terraria movement? because i really like how the movement has been done there.
Retr0  [author] 15 Jan, 2017 @ 1:46am
@ConfusingDalek, I'm pretty sure that this mod is NOT compatible with Suphax's 2/3 fall damage mod as it changes the fall damage multiplier. Feel free to double check.

@Alucard3598, Thanks for the heads up! I've found a similar situation in a vault where apon dropping off a ledge it became impossible for the player to jump back without a jump tech. I wasn't sure if that was the mod or if it was intentional and I didn't bother to check. When (or if) I have the time i'll post an update to fix these issues.
BigGreenGayDad 15 Jan, 2017 @ 1:29am
Actually I found another issue with pre-generated content, but this time it was one of the challenge doors. There was this particular part where you get a jump boost, and you have to make these high jumps to proceed, but without a jump tech I don't think it's possible.
Lyra 12 Jan, 2017 @ 2:41pm
Is this compatible with Suphax's 2/3 fall damage mod?
