Yeah thats it, you can choose wich way to go at the end. If you open the end with the ball, you go to a room filled with companion cubes.

You can skip the area with the gel altogheter, but you won't get the ball, so you won't be able to go to the companion cube room. But you can still finish the map.

It's like two maps in one. Don't worry about spoilers :)

I hope in a previous post, no really bad spoilers no? let me know if there is and I will fix or delete the post...
God-Father 22 Apr, 2017 @ 6:52am
Well, the main thing is to get to the last room and shoot up at the portal, and can go in almost no hurry), and through the portal with the laser to bring the ball and the cube, and choose which way to go) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=910801661 https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=910801661 and you mean to pass without blocking the laser in a room with companion cubes?
Captn Gore  [author] 21 Apr, 2017 @ 6:44pm
Oh I get it nevermind. Like I said alternate exit is opened with alternate puzzle elements.

Hello Godfather! You mean one ball is enough? It is actually meant that way. If you skip the area with the gels and the ball, you can still solve it by using the laser cube. It opens the other exit and skips the room with the companion cubes. The laser in that last room actually prevents you from getting out. Did you manage to exit the room without blocking it?

I just realized it's been four years already, thanks for playing, you make my day :)

I went through the room with the gel, brought the ball, one was enough to get into the room with the cubes, and the laser was not needed to exit : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=909956361

Major update on this map ! If you enjoyed it the first time around plz take the time to try the new version.

Yeah i did not find any satisfying angle that showed everything properly... too much going on in this thing hehe. And i did not want the final "bonus" room to show. I'll try and make it better.

And no you don't need the sphere to finish the puzzle...

But you'll get acces to a bonus room if you have it. It's just cuteness though, no puzzles in there. It's basicaly a display of companion cubes, with one being astray and replaced by a frankencube. You can throw the frankencube into the fizzler and restore the lost companion cube to it's rightfull place (it's the one you see behind the glass).

I had this concept in mind of having a hidden optionnal sidequest. It is not required at all to complete the test, but i think the "sewer" area you have to solve to get the sphere is even bigger than the main chamber. It should keep you busy for a while ;)

I actually managed to reason out that's how that would work after I slept on it. That makes me feel better about the puzzle, actuallty. However, there's still the question - is the edgeless safety cube at all required for solving the puzzle, or am I expected to get it to access more of it?

Oh, and you may want to get a better screenshot of the editro view so we can actually see the whole puzzle. The editor takes an automatic snapshot of your perspective when you publish it, so it's easy to only take a crop of the whole thing.
Captn Gore  [author] 29 Jun, 2012 @ 5:31pm
I already fixed it.

Go behind the grating and shoot a portal throught it to the only availlable spot, then drop down, place portal number two and get back into the chamber to get your cube. You will have to use the flip panel again to finally get the cube out of there.

I agree that this test chamber can be really deadly at times. Save often, especially in the hidden area !

But most of what I did relies on that... I noticed when working on my own map that you can fling cubes sideways with quite some force if you swing your camera to the side and release. It made the toss much easier. Also

I noticed the edgeless safety cube when dropping into the map from the starting gate, but I never found a way to get back up there. I thought maybe the faith plate would shoot me back up, but instead it shot me to my death... Your puzzles have a way of killing me when I step wrong. If you fix the escape tunnel with a grating, then I have no idea how to solve that puzzle any more.
Captn Gore  [author] 28 Jun, 2012 @ 8:56pm
You did it the right way except for one thing : the cube should not go through the "escape" corridor. Thank you for pointing that out, i'll try and correct this with a grating.

As for the edgeless cube receptacle, you solved only half of the map ;)

There is a hidden area showcasing the three gel types, which is maybe harder than the main area to solve. You have to collect the ball, which can be seen in the entrance shaft. This ball let's you go through a secret chamber where you'll find the companion executive associate board AND the Impostor. Look behind the mirror cube dropper...
Malidictus 28 Jun, 2012 @ 12:23pm
Jumped to the cube holding down the doors. Ported up to the "escape" tunnel and tossed the cube into the opening other opening to get it past the emanciaption field. Ported it over the button that spawns the mirror cube and just caught it out of the air. Put that in place. On the opposite side, I had an orange portal where the laser hits the wall and a blue portal on the rotating wall segment. Opened the door, walked in. I tossed a blue portal on the nearby wall, squeezed past the laser. Got the mirror cube, went back through the portal. Set the blue portal to shoot the laser past the grating at one receiver near the end, and there was just enough room to set down the mirror cube and shoot it at the other receiver.

I'm... More than positive I didn't do that one correctly. I never reached that box behind the glass, I never found an edgeless safety cube to use in the recepticle and did most of this one with just the cube that holds the door open and the mirror cube. Here's what I did:
DaZy 18 Jun, 2012 @ 1:29pm
Took me three sittings to get this one. I'm not sure I even did it correctly (or as intended) & i found it to be more about observation, memorization & navigation than simpley solving a puzzle. Jeez. I'm not even sure I should say "Good Job." but I liked solving this one.
Captn Gore  [author] 10 Jun, 2012 @ 2:29pm
Right now i'm working on two other tests. One of wich i feel is kinda hard but should be a nice ride :) The other i'm really trying to make it easier but still fun. They take time, i'm really aiming at pulling the best visuals out of this limited construction kit. Thanks for your comments !
Chet Fil A 8 Jun, 2012 @ 6:40pm
I did that too at first, Started with a aerial faith plate and an exit on the first test, than pretty much every testing element in the next.I'll give you two thumbs up for the science you have depicted in this chamber,Just next time,Make one that doesn't take an Aperture science employee to figure out :)
Captn Gore  [author] 28 May, 2012 @ 3:53pm
Hehe yep I guess it can be hard. Not impossible though but pretty hard. It's my first attempt at the puzzle maker, I wanted to give it everything i could. More coming this way, i'll try to tone down the difficulty next time.
Chet Fil A 28 May, 2012 @ 1:14pm
Allright, Nice big test, BUT IMPOSSIBLE,lz make one that's easier ;)
