Winterwald is not a good coh2 map because of the steep climb. The world builder has problems adjusting the camera to that kind of terrain and there are pathfinding problems when the terrain gets to steep.

Sure, why not! Your screenshots are awsome. If you want I can give you early access on the next map and you can create some artworky screenshots which will be seen as soon as the map goes life + a mentioning on contributers.

Ok, good to know that. Thanks for testing Zvonimir. Even if the US forces didn't work so well it is an overall improvement. I know now what causes this crashes. The only thing that is different from this version compared to the other is the Voronoi and the Map borders. I always make a backup of my maps before I draw them. Because if I mess it up the map crashes in the Editor and can never be loaded again.

So I guess I have to redraw the entire voronoi again. :( This is annoying work but at least it promises some improvement. I'll do it soon and then see what happens.

Soviet vs wehrmacht got a 50 min game no crash (stable)
British vs oberkommando west 45 min game game crashed but not becasue of the map ( stable)
USA army now loads up but crashed at the 5 min mark. ( unstable)

All and all it's a great deal more stable then before, wiht all the factions but the USA stable and playable. ( Tested on spearhead mod, against expert AI)

Since my final version of Tula had a bug that caused regular crashes on Spearhead and other mods. This is my back up version. It is in an earlier state of development but it seems to be stable.

IF YOU PLAY THIS MAP ON SPEARHEAD MOD TELL ME IF IT WAS STABLE OR IT CRASHED!

Thanks for your help to make TULA OUTSKIRTS great again. :)

Well when i was playing AI they rush the right and left half of the map and the 2 bofors in the trenches would be nice considering how large the trench line is. and one or 2 as eye candy would be OK as well. If someone complained about balance tell em that its not seeing how u could kill the guns with mortars or even an AT gun. (stops early game curb stomp.)

I was thinking to put into tula 3 more bofors in the river valley and make all bofors on the map crewable. Until now they are only nice to look at. making only the bofors in the defence line crewable would hurt the balance to much. What do you think about that Idea Zvonimir?

Yeah, ROH2 is my favorite WW2 FPS. I would also love to make some more maps for my favorite RTS. I was thinking of making one more map later this year. Not sure yet which one.

I hope the prob can be found and fixed. would love to see more of these like gumrak station or spartanovka. your hard work really does show and the maps are cool too play as a commander after playing as an infantry man in the game.

Thanks a lot for your tenacity. I was wondering if a map element causes this Problem. Maybe a splat or a smoke/fire marker. The issue might occur then as soon as you hover your screen over a particular area. I had this issue with another game. The awkward part is that I released this map earlier and there were no crashes reported. Complains are coming now since i gave it some more work. So I think I put something on the map that the mods can't work with.

I did some more testing on the crashing.

The USA crashes in loading and thus i could not test further.
The oberkommando west crashed at 5 mins 21 sec at expert ai.
The soviets and wehrmacht crash about 5 mins 24 secs in expert AI and at 18 mins on easy ai.
The british crash at 5 mins 44 sec on expert ai.

I think there is a vehicle or maybe a mod unit unlocked around those times that
casues the crash but thats a thoery no more. I will keep trying, i really want
to play this map. ( tested it with Spearhead mod)

I don't know what to fix to make it more stable to people. I didn't do any additional scar scripting. But I also don't play with mods. Maybe you try a different mod or play vanilla.

I know that the bofors are not crewable. I didn't make them crewable because one team wouldn't bofors at all. Maybe I give the other team bofors and then I can make it crewable so balance is maintained to a certain extend.

Did you use mods while playing? Does the issue occur when you play vanilla version as well?

There were 4 of us, so difficult to say precisely.

I think it was due to the extremely high and rapid elevation changes in the middle top left or so of the map.

I think that is what Tim... is saying as well when he says, "the map is curpt !" (corrupted).

We had 150 or 200 pop cap on as well with 4 of us and 4 ai, so that doesn't help things either.

I like the map, but in a 4v4 we had a very hard crash about 15 to 20 minutes in.

It may have something to do with elevations being too high or radical in areas.

It's a shame, because the map is pretty cool, but unplayable until you fix whatever it is that is corrupting it making it crash hard - straight to bugsplat with no warning, thus requiring reverification of game cache and steam restart - that always leaves a bad memory. :steamsad:

I improved this map to a new level. It's now a much different map then it was before. Especially in the central region. Please give it a try and don't forget to rate the map.
