As the previous commenter said, this breaks the ore detector completely. If you could please fix this, that would be greatly appreciated

Thank you Morthy! I added a few things into the unpacked one. The fossil color is better in red, please try it - [255, 2, 0, 255] and 2 other changes - pingrange value to 60, pingduration 5.5 (for scann the whole screen, giving time to watch). The only thing 1 can't find to repair is the ping's lagg when there is a biome with full of bones near by.

I've updated the mod to be compatible with the latest version of Starbound.

I unpacked the mod, and founded the problem. In Detector.lua file change the "activeItemAnimation" to "animationConfig" (there are 4 in the file), and the mod will work again.

It doesn't work though, in regular starbound. When I have this mod, the ore detector no longer does anything

A fascinating mod idea, but probably incompatible with recent Frackin Universe updates. You should try getting in touch with Sayter and seeing if he'd be willing to roll this mod into FU with your permission.

Do you think you could Extend the Ore Detector to detect Challenge Doors? If so, that would be awesome! For me, that is more important than finding fossils as Challenge Doors are definitely rarer.

Unsubscribed to this and the other mod... damage irreversable to my saves. Until one of you finds out which of you caused all my weapons to turn into Perfectly Generic Items and for all enemies, NPCs, and reward bags to be stuck using and dropping only Perfectly Generic items I'm removing my up rating and leaving a down rating and will remain unsubscribed. I will rate up and subscribe again when these two mods work, and when they do not cause everything in the game to be bugged. For a guy using less than 10 mods and none of them making major edits... this is a nightmare... hope everything is fixed soon.

My two newest subscribed mods was this one and a mod that makes all their reward bags stackable by their tier of rewards. One of them rendered most weapons in the game into the Perfectly Generic Item. I'm unsubscribing until the problem is fixed... either one or both renders weapons dropped used and/or dropped by enemies and reward bags into Perfectly Generic Items.

I'd like to see this as a stand-alone item instead of a modification to the ore detector. Having a straight Fossil Detector would be preferable :)

could interfere with frackin universe, when they plan to show their ores too. maybe set up a alternate version? :)
or combine it with the dungeon one :D
