does this mod still work with the current version of sb?

also has anyone found any incompatibilities with this mod and other mods?

This mod isn't really necessary.
Crew have such a ridiculously high health pool sometimes that they can stand still in lava for ages before dying.
Bellatrix 6 Nov, 2019 @ 3:52am
Wouldn't it be better just to make them immune to lava?
Their tendency to stand in poison hardly matters, and not giving them poison immunity would mean the mod has no side effects.

i appreciate having my crew member's idiotic / suicidal tendancies being stopped, this is a great mod!

speaking of stupid crew ai, for some reason they tend to crowd into a single room in my ship that i tried to turn into a bathroom or crowd around the teleporter. it's annoying

Would just like to say on my game that includes FU it works.
Xander 18 Feb, 2018 @ 11:22am
The crew members in this game are IDIOTS. So this makes sence.

Can i use Too Dumb to Live: Crew lava/poison immunity in a Mod Pack?

This will save my horses from dying when I go underground. Briliant

weaver can you try to make them invincible please? i would love that, because i found out that when i have admin mode on my crew's stats are buffed, but they aren't invincible like i am, it would be greatly appreciated if you could do this, thanks!

nice. most vanilla crewmembers are good at avoiding deep lava, but utter crap at knee high lava.

the picture you used for this mod is how they usually die. standing on knee deep poison/lava like an idiot. forcing the player to move just so the stupid AI walks out of the poison/lava.
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 13 Mar, 2017 @ 4:09am
I don't need my crew members to be immune since they rarely die from lava and poison.
Then again, they are using vanilla AI. Maybe if the AI changes because of a mod they could use this.
Regardless, the most I would want is to decrease the damage they receive from traps, poison, and lava. That way they'll rarely be weak in combat and always useful for extended periods of time.

No worries, this is already a huge help to my crew. The only thing that really makes crews unplayable in some places is Aether and it's shadow taint imo (it basically turns the screen black and gives you low FPS if your crew runs into the liquid).

Hey, sorry for the no reply; there isn't a version for FU and I'm not likely to make one myself since I don't use FU at all...
Demonite 7 Jan, 2017 @ 12:19pm
So.. does such a patch exist for FU? Specifically for the god damn shadow taint debuff?
Anime_Ori 27 Dec, 2016 @ 4:02pm
I don't know what I'd do without this mod.
Literally every single time I get close to some hazard my crew mates dive into it like it's their favorite icecream! and I'm just there, not being able to discribe what just happend... even though I did just now.
I'm usually in environments with lot of danger and with this mod, they can swim in all the "Hot tubs" as long as they like. but my crew still get killed by stray bullets. Thanking you once again for this unbelievably useful mod!

If you are having the duplicate crew problem post here http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/duplicate-crew.119293/ Made a reddit thread about it and the dev told me all the devs are on vaction and that they can't fix it. They also said if I don't like it to play something else.
404_Not_Found 21 Aug, 2016 @ 9:25pm
Are my fantastically intelligent crew members also immune to spikes with this installed? Because every single one of them seems to have a fetish for them.
Rosendale 17 Aug, 2016 @ 8:12pm
@vinchenzojackal&shoon I don't know who exactly you're referring to when you make these different groupings of players. I have this mod downloaded because, no matter my actions, I've had my crew stand in lava without a problem in the world on several occasions. I know that making them immune to it isn't a perfect solution, but it's an imperfect solution for imperfect AI.

If you rarely have issues with it, good for you, that doesn't make you a "smart active player" that's above everyone else. Plus, looking at some other quality of life mods this modder has made that both of us seem to have, it seems like that may not be the case, since you didn't back-up your own game and managed to ruin it with less than 10 mods.

tl;dr rude
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 17 Aug, 2016 @ 3:17pm
I'd rather merely decrease damage to crew members than make them immune to such harm.
If anything I rarely have problems with dumb AI causing my crew to get poisoned a lot or burned a lot. I can usually get them to avoid toxic fluid and lava so long as I properly lead them. Of course, a mod like this, while almost cheating, cause it is mainly for lazy players, is appreciated, smart active players like me would prefer a lite alternative.
Anime_Ori 15 Aug, 2016 @ 12:25pm
I can't believe that this is the best mod for crew members ever.
MAD MAXX 15 Aug, 2016 @ 10:21am
But you can just dismiss the original crewmember and then talk to their dupe, making them the "new" crewmember (also showing up in your crew list). Atleast that works for me everytime.
Solzucht 15 Aug, 2016 @ 5:12am
wow :o that sounds good :D
Weaver  [author] 15 Aug, 2016 @ 4:29am
@Solzucht Actually, while making this I found what I think could be used as a hacky workaround to the crew cloning problem. (TBH, I don't have that problem, but one of my voicechat buddies does so i've investigated it a bit).

1. Make some change to the core crewmember file that makes it unloadable (replace a number with a string or something).

2. Load the game; go to your ship if needed. Your ship will be empty. Have a mild panic attack if you weren't expecting this. Crew will still show in SAIL console. The log will complain about not being able to spawn things because of a valuetype error in the file.

3. Exit and save and undo the change.

4. Load the game again. The game will realize your crew don't exist and teleport (hopefully) one copy of each to your teleporter.

I can throw together a quick hack mod to let you purge crew like this tomorrow actually.
Solzucht 15 Aug, 2016 @ 3:29am
thats one way to work arround it, sadly that would take the ability to get rid of all their clones on the ship whenever they appear.
