A nice and neat tutorial and then subsequent challenge to show how the "Cube respawn mechanic" can be used within a puzzle environment to help solve it.
I feel like you are too generous with the portalable surfaces however.
7/10

Another awesome map, that grill in the ceiling by the funnel makes sense now, its a bit cleaner with that there.
It almost seems impossible to get the cube again as you can only have 2 portals, but the solution is very clean.

The difference between the tutorial room and the main puzzle (the "you don't have to physically be there on the cube island" bit) took a bit of time. I did think it was over at first when I finished the tutorial part. :D

Semi-blindrun (at least 4 years since I've played, took a break starting from late 2019)
Unique, interesting, and fun - just like all of your other maps.

Difficulty: 4/10
Design: 10/10
Enjoyed: 7.5/10

So simple yet it had me thinking for ages. Brilliant!!
Sophronius 10 Nov, 2023 @ 9:52am
one of the best map's I've played.
Mehmet 17 Sep, 2023 @ 11:13am
brilliant, awesome
cloe wisteria 28 Jan, 2023 @ 11:09pm
this was neat, thank you. really enjoyed the second half
Mr.Sunshine 19 Jan, 2023 @ 4:49am
Nice job!
TavinMJ 17 Sep, 2022 @ 9:41pm
nice!
Olepa 9 Jun, 2022 @ 12:47pm
Impressive, nice simple demonstration of the cube respawn concept. Gotta admit, took me too long the first time :P
Jägermeister 1 Mar, 2022 @ 7:58am
WOW! This looked so easy and took me a while! Thanks!!!
eons Luna 8 Jan, 2022 @ 10:01am
Really stumped me even on the first part. Really resisted the urge to look up hints or how other people solved it and gave it a good thought before I finally figured out the overarching theme: cube destruction will be needed by requesting for new cubes.

Really cool map, good job! Here's my blind playthrough: https://youtu.be/wy0txmu6p10
KØ414 B33R 22 Aug, 2020 @ 4:56pm
Nice one! Takes some thinking ahead. I got so cocky when I figured it out that I shot the wrong portal for the finish and had to start over gain! Good times!

Cool little puzzle! :) :47_thumb_up:
Calwin 9 Sep, 2019 @ 1:21pm
Easier than most of ur puzzles.

Nice puzzle. Thanks!

@Dark Rozen
I think Cache is great as it is, although it's always had a few quirks. I mean, it's a 6 year old puzzle, one of the best of its time, let's cut it some slack. :steammocking:

Go look at this version of Cache (yes, it's the same puzzle with more steps). I made it back in 2014 based on Cache and the version I linked is toncica's remake.

Also, Gig has Bifurcation A and Bifurcation B , which are also descendant versions of Cache.
Dark Rozen 19 Nov, 2018 @ 2:44pm
Nice and easy chamber. Maybe you could add some more puzzle into it. e.g. another airlock.
Joric 19 Aug, 2018 @ 6:58am
Bifurcation A & B seem way worse in comparison now https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1356660617
Mikeastro 11 Aug, 2018 @ 11:36am
Nice one
MmmmmmhHHHhhhhhhmmmm 11 Jul, 2018 @ 12:09pm
I'm pretty sure someone more or less uploaded your map somewhere else. It's the exact same thing.

Anyways, solid map. Hint: there's only one tool available for you to grab a new cube.
Snoitulover 12 Jun, 2018 @ 4:53am
I have played this before and it wasn't here. I like it but I think somebody copied you.
jandlml 4 Jun, 2018 @ 6:35pm
its interesting playing these maps again and seeing how they have been used in other maps. shows what great creators they are
Joric 2 Jun, 2018 @ 10:45pm
Easy difficulty.
bullfrog 13 Jan, 2018 @ 1:17am
Nice one and it makes a change to have an easy one from you :)
santa 7 Dec, 2017 @ 3:57am
Maybe i'm dumb......but that stumped me for a while...well done
happy 1 Aug, 2017 @ 5:18am
great tutorial
Fumbly Bumbly 17 Jun, 2017 @ 6:54am
Quite easy compared to some of your other maps, but still clever and enjoyable.
Me 29 Nov, 2016 @ 2:18am
Wow, very clever map!
zigzagtenniscoe 30 Aug, 2016 @ 12:39pm
Very fun and clever map. Didn't know why I thought at first I needed the cube to be on the light bridge button for the button in the middle disabling the fizzlers to work... I just needed that cube to be on that button and for that I needed it to get sucked through the funnel to reach the middle room while I stand on the button but I didn't get how to do that while the cube was on the light bridge button... don't know why I thought I needed that yet! You are the master of puzzles that are hard because you subconsciously think you need to do something that doesn't need to be dome therefore making the solution seem much simpler then it seems at first. Didn't fool me for too long tho. Difficulty intermediate, continue the good work!
NiMH 28 Jun, 2016 @ 2:42pm
The tutorial room was a great hint without making the main puzzle too easy. Really good and entertaining design.
Prince Warhero 22 May, 2016 @ 12:41am
Awesome way of conveying a hint !! Your maps are the best thing about portal 2 :steamhappy:
Petutski 16 Apr, 2016 @ 3:12pm
Beautiful, tricky, logical map! Great job!
Rockgod96 3 Mar, 2016 @ 1:03pm
That emancipation grille is the only thing making this chamber a giant, unsolvable mess.
I like your chambers, but this one needs to be redone.
WK2Trailhawk 16 Jan, 2016 @ 12:46pm
Wow. I did that one in record time. Less than 10 minutes. Either I got incredibly lucky or you are making a better Portal player out of me. Probably a little of both.
Pamsy 13 Jan, 2016 @ 7:37pm
Great map. Hint 1: the antechamber is a hint. Hint 2: put the funnel under the cube dispenser.
heppin 10 Jan, 2016 @ 7:31am
Good one, and a bit tricky until I got the thinking in the right way! :)
kwyjibo 1981 6 Jun, 2015 @ 1:11pm
Good map, except that it was too easy.
PortalFan 2 Jun, 2015 @ 3:33am
Ingenious and simple, brilliant !
otahitie 22 Apr, 2015 @ 1:16am
With Mevious, all seems simple, all is genius and ask a lot of thought
I think at the end of the level, to pass the cube and activate the blue bridge
Nice one more time ! Thanks
akross.cs 23 Feb, 2015 @ 11:19am
HOW did you know how to make puzzles like this? Are you physical - chemistry genious?
batman 14 Nov, 2014 @ 7:18am
your maps bring satisfaction even though they are not difficult. That's amazing.
BOT BRAŇO 4 Nov, 2014 @ 10:58am
You fried every single circuit in my brain. Thank you for good test :)
Hurkey Durkey 26 Oct, 2014 @ 4:16pm
So sneaky. :rfacepalm:
Chelliste 7 Sep, 2014 @ 9:19am
One of his easier puzzles. For which I am grateful.
colin-java 4 Sep, 2014 @ 3:46pm
Nice puzzle, pretty tough. Easy to forget that you can move portals sometimes.
I spent a few mins trying to throw the cube while standing on that button, but it would never make it, lol.
The puzzles sometimes seem impossible, but they generally aren't
PaperTib 27 Jul, 2014 @ 3:32pm
very nice !
quat 26 Jul, 2014 @ 8:24pm
Would probably be better without the training room, because I pretty much knew the answer when I walked in that way.
