Just double checked the mod files and everything looks fine. Unfortunately can't start up the mod right now. Try disabling City Development temporarily and see if that works.

@saintsfan36 The mod should still work. It should be base game racial T3 units and they should have evolve. If they don't that probably means City Development changes the base units or something is broken with the flyers :p

Does this still vvork? (my "vv" key is broke) I only have this mod and City Development mod loaded up. I have all the DLC. I did a fevv "battle" starts and none of the T3 units have evolve. Including the draconian flyers, vvhich I read that someone says they get it. Is the 'evolve' trait supposed to shovv in the stats? Or not?

Not all T3s are meant to go to T4. Just the racial class-less ones to put them on level ground with class units. As for T3 knights, I can't check still, but that's almost certainly another mod doing that.

Love the idea but it needs work, not all tier 3's can go to 4 and when combined with the cost increase mod I like it makes it a bit awkward and inconsistent. Thank you for the mod and creating ideas hope you get well soon!

I'm recovering from an injury right now, so not modding, however, if you want to check out my Wrong Kind of Balance mod, I implemented a system where racial units (classless ones) gain 1 Resistance every time they gain another level of champion. Not quite the same, but helps a bit to keep them in the game

Just to confirm the last comment. My dwarf unit also did not have the evolve skill from this mod until I deactivated the "every unit a Hero" mod. Thanks for solving this. I really like this mod. Lord C, care to have a go at improving standard unit (T1 and T2) leveling perks? Although, now that I think of it, it might be too much of a PITA since you would have to modify every experience level perk of every unit in the game. :steamfacepalm: I just love the idea of keeping those T1's and T2's relevant to game end.

Just a question (i Know that you dont work on this mod much more) but how do I get a Halfling Skyraider? I just cant see tha production and apparently no other unit can evolve into one.

Ive started to think about what you said and couldnt resist the challenge. Dont know if some of the abilities that I list are possible, but I write them down. I just write the abilities and leave it up to you to rank them as you see fit. Ill start with the Giants and will slowly build upwards.
Ogre ---> Ettin
Double headed with one club in each hand. Gets 2 attacks. If both hits, inflict stun.
Unholy champion, throw rocks. Killing momentum
Troll ---> Troll King
Undying, throw rocks, projectile resistance (beacuse of thick skin), unholy champion. Swallow whole.
Yeti ---> Snow king
Frost Breath, water walking (beacuse it freezes the water) for the stack, Throw snowball. Wall crushing.

Stats are fairly straight forward, but new ability ideas can take quite a while if you are interested in coming up with those. That said, either way I might not use them do to having other priorities. So only work on it if it is fun

Yes, i thought so to. Also a Elder Feathered Serpent, an Ogre King, an Mutated Cockatrice and a Hive Mother (from D&D, a bastard of a Beholder, that this game calls watcher). These would be great. Just think if they AI levels these as roaming monsters and suddenly you meet roaming tier IV monster :steammocking:

Haven't been modding lately (or using my computer for that matter) but a Troll King sounds like an awesome idea... If it happens it'd be months down the line though.

Have now been playing around with it for a while and I absolutely love the mod. Are you thinking of expanding it to the other non racial units like Feathered serpent, Spider Queens aso aso. Would just love to have a giant Troll King swingning around and bashing things!

i dont know i use it and got a few beatle to legendary medal i was nearly unstopable. those beatle gain somewhere around 20 armor and 150 healt. I love the idea though

They already should look a little different :p They should all be bigger and some of them have special effects/ Different colours.

Thumbnails are definitely tricky to tell apart, but I probably won't change those any time soon because I'm really bad at it. If I could find the original thumbnails maybe I could add a gold border or something but it's a bit of a pain.

The order thing should be fixable, I'll look into it.

Hi Cameron, just tried the patch, it didn't seem to work. Anyway, I disabled ISAO for now, really love playing dwarves.

On another note, is there a plan to make T4 units look a little different than T3s? A slightly different color, maybe size, etc. And also the thumbnails in the army maybe a little different. I have to hover over each unit to see which are T3 or T4.

And the order in which they stay is not relevant to their tier. Normally T4 is at the beginning of the list, but right now they have the same order so it might end up with a bunch of T3 at the beginning, then T4, then T3 again.. a little confusing.

I finally figured out what plugin was causing Firstborn NOT to have the evolve ability: it's the Inflict Status Abilities Overhaul mod by Noin - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=550317369
Removed it and it works fine now

It sounds like the mod author overwrote the unit lists instead of making new ones. Unit mods shouldn't conflict with anything. Or they made a little mistake somewhere, I've done half a dozen myself. Good sleuthing!

Yes i used lvl 4 units.Tested all mods that had conlfilt and sadly LVL 4 UNITS is hostile to allmost all new unit mods.I liked the arcane eagle in it.Can not have em all.

I've since gone on to just create my own tweak mod (for the legendary empire building mod), so I'm kind of out of this discussion now^^ For me there was just too big a gap between the orc's and some other's legendary units^^

What about +10hp and something else weak (Like plus 1 fire damage) at veteran, and 10% physical resistance at elite?

I've been thinking that instead of being particularly tanky, elite firstborns are a fairly punishing unit to attack (with their retaliations and fire aura). So the T4 version could improve on that with e.g. blinding aura on veteran and projectile reflection on elite. Tireless could also fit well into this scheme.

I'll think about your ideas more over the next few days and see how I feel. If you come up with more, or have a counter point to my own, or can just identify what kind of things the firstborn does to make him do more so I'd love to hear them.

I like the idea of giving him an ability. Generally if I give a new one I like it to fit the theme of the unit. For instance the shock trooper is about getting over the wall and hitting hard so I made him get over the wall faster and hit harder .

I found the firstborn tricky, I gave him bonus defence and fire attack if I recall correctly. I like your suggestions but I'm quite sold on any. For instance, defensive strike is out because they don't have a shield. First strike would turn them into a spearman when they are more like an infantry. Defender is very dwarfy and tanky, but the firstborn hit more than hide. I don't have a specific problem with tireless except the draconian already gets it.

I just noticed that the dwarf firstborn doesn't earn any new abilities after evolving :-(
How about Defensive Strike, Tireless, Defender and/or First Strike?
