MozarteanChaos 15 ian. 2020 la 19:43
does this still work? can't imagine why it wouldn't, but better safe than sorry
Aiyoki 29 sept. 2018 la 18:13
I assume this is abandoned since the creator hasn't commented since Aug. '16. I'm also wondering if this works with FU, but don't want to install it to check if it causes problems.

Conflicts with a race mod

because you both define "MRE"
This prevents starbound from loading. Fortunately notepad++'s "find in files" made it easy to figure out.

As a good practice, try to give everything a bit more unique name. The easy way is add your handle to everything like
"wtfman_MRE"
That only means changing the internal item/object names and filenames for good measure. The description can say "MRE" (etc) without problem.

does it works with fracking universe

Are you planning on adding a custom collection for preserved foods? It would be nice to keep track of the ones we've made before.

Also, I think adding a Miniknog Ration would be a nifty idea. It would basically be similar to the USCM ration, but would be made from dried fruits, like bananas and raisins.

Thanks, my brother gonna love this for the new recipes!!!
Demiurge 4 sept. 2016 la 15:34
Can you make a non-steam version for non-steam users? Thank you in advance!

(B) With most of these, I'm surprised that you gave them a spoil time at all. There's no reason why Hard Tac, Dried Fish, Jerky, Rations, and any sort of Pickled food shouldn't effectively last forever. Hard Tac, in particular, is famous for lasting years or even decades. And the lack of a spoil time means that they can stack , which many players would appreciate.

Besides, any player can carry around large stacks of Rice, Wheat, Mushrooms, Cactus, Sugar and other ingredients that never spoil, then plop down a Campfire or Kitchen Counter and prepare something before they starve. So, it's not like players don't have options. It wouldn't be cheating. It's more about roleplaying and variety in one's diet.
Thundercraft 25 aug. 2016 la 7:17
I really like the concept and I like where you're going. However...

Questions:

(1) Does Pickled Dioda use a Glass Bottle (i.e., jar) in the recipe? I don't know how one could make pickled anything without a jar or similar.

(2) What's the diff between Coral Miso and Coral Miso Soup? Does Coral Miso last a long time, whereas Coral Miso Soup has a normal spoil time and is made from Coral Miso at a Campfire by combining it with something, such as Water and/or Seaweed?

That's what I'd do. Except, I'd make Coral Miso never spoil and stackable. I've read that "Miso has a shelf life that gives Twinkies a run for their title." It's fermented and very salty.

Suggestions:

(A) Please re-upload your Preview Image as a mod image (i.e., using the "Add/edit images & videos" link). It's small and hard to make out.

I tested this briefly last night too but then fell asleep instead of reporting :3
Tallow 22 aug. 2016 la 11:39
Subbed and tested on an existing character, the Recipes are now present and I am able to craft the food, appears fixed on my game...I'm excited to try out these recipes :D
WTFMAN  [autor] 22 aug. 2016 la 10:54
Confirmed. I've re-uploaded this. Is it working correctly now? But when I deleted my mod folder and subscribed myself for a test, It works correctly. So I've to think seems no problem. Why is it?
Weaver 22 aug. 2016 la 7:36
[comment was too long]

The mod is working for you because you have the correct folder layout in your own starbound/mods dir. The items are available to admins because they don't require patches to exist; it's only the player.config.patch that isn't working.

If you want to fix it and keep the steam data, you should be able to move _metadata and _previewimage from starbound/mods to starbound/mods/pfood (replacing the ones in there) and then reupload it after picking the right directory.
Weaver 22 aug. 2016 la 7:36
Your mod is packaged wrong for steam. It looks like you're picking the <steamapps>/common/starbound/mods directory instead of the <steamapps>/common/starbound/mods/pfood directory, based on what's in the unpacked mod: http://paste.debian.net/790964/

This means the game is seeing /pfood/player.config.patch and not knowing to apply it to its /player.config file because of the directory mismatch. (The directory names you use only really matter for patches afaik).

For comparison, this is a random working mod (More Craftable Blocks) http://paste.debian.net/790965/

I am also having some difficulty getting the recipes to show up at the Kitchen Counter, do the recipes work with an existing character or will I have to start a new one?
WTFMAN  [autor] 21 aug. 2016 la 19:41
I've tested the mod by using a new character. Seems not wrong to me... I don't know about your problem. Sorry.
smurflee 21 aug. 2016 la 15:04
EDIT: It seems I have to be in admin mode to find the recipes. Am I doing something wrong? Sorry I can be a newb at things sometimes ;A;
smurflee 21 aug. 2016 la 13:09
I can't seem to find it in my recipes at the kitchen counter D:
WTFMAN  [autor] 21 aug. 2016 la 4:17
Use Kitchen Counter, of course.
smurflee 20 aug. 2016 la 19:14
Where do you craft these?
Mr.Guy 20 aug. 2016 la 10:22
Thank you for the info!
WTFMAN  [autor] 20 aug. 2016 la 9:05
If you uninstall this, added food items are will be changed to 'Perfectly Generic Item'. That's it.
Mr.Guy 20 aug. 2016 la 8:50
question, will I run into any issues if I unistall it?
WTFMAN  [autor] 19 aug. 2016 la 22:49
Oh, if you had questions about 'install stop rot mod+this mod=is this mod works like vanilla?' is... Sorry. It doesn't. Because seems Stop rot mod is applied all of consumable items.
WTFMAN  [autor] 19 aug. 2016 la 19:46
Thank you for the questions. Here are answers.

1. Aye, stop food rot mod works well with this mod.
2. The most powerful food is USCM Ration. It fills 100% hunger, and Runboost+Jumpboost+Rage+Health+Energy during 5min. Recipe is Bread+Chocolate+Potato+Sweet Popcorn+Meat. The difficulty differs from each other. For example, Hardtack is just needed 1 bread.
Altered Nova 19 aug. 2016 la 18:38
I like the idea and the art. How powerful are the foods, and how difficult are they to craft?
Man In The Purple Hat 19 aug. 2016 la 17:25
lovely mod! always could use more food! im curious though if this mod would work with mods that stop food from rotting entierly?
