still without stacking

because you both define "MRE"
This prevents starbound from loading. Fortunately notepad++'s "find in files" made it easy to figure out.
As a good practice, try to give everything a bit more unique name. The easy way is add your handle to everything like
"wtfman_MRE"
That only means changing the internal item/object names and filenames for good measure. The description can say "MRE" (etc) without problem.
Also, I think adding a Miniknog Ration would be a nifty idea. It would basically be similar to the USCM ration, but would be made from dried fruits, like bananas and raisins.
Besides, any player can carry around large stacks of Rice, Wheat, Mushrooms, Cactus, Sugar and other ingredients that never spoil, then plop down a Campfire or Kitchen Counter and prepare something before they starve. So, it's not like players don't have options. It wouldn't be cheating. It's more about roleplaying and variety in one's diet.
Questions:
(1) Does Pickled Dioda use a Glass Bottle (i.e., jar) in the recipe? I don't know how one could make pickled anything without a jar or similar.
(2) What's the diff between Coral Miso and Coral Miso Soup? Does Coral Miso last a long time, whereas Coral Miso Soup has a normal spoil time and is made from Coral Miso at a Campfire by combining it with something, such as Water and/or Seaweed?
That's what I'd do. Except, I'd make Coral Miso never spoil and stackable. I've read that "Miso has a shelf life that gives Twinkies a run for their title." It's fermented and very salty.
Suggestions:
(A) Please re-upload your Preview Image as a mod image (i.e., using the "Add/edit images & videos" link). It's small and hard to make out.
The mod is working for you because you have the correct folder layout in your own starbound/mods dir. The items are available to admins because they don't require patches to exist; it's only the player.config.patch that isn't working.
If you want to fix it and keep the steam data, you should be able to move _metadata and _previewimage from starbound/mods to starbound/mods/pfood (replacing the ones in there) and then reupload it after picking the right directory.
This means the game is seeing /pfood/player.config.patch and not knowing to apply it to its /player.config file because of the directory mismatch. (The directory names you use only really matter for patches afaik).
For comparison, this is a random working mod (More Craftable Blocks) http://paste.debian.net/790965/
1. Aye, stop food rot mod works well with this mod.
2. The most powerful food is USCM Ration. It fills 100% hunger, and Runboost+Jumpboost+Rage+Health+Energy during 5min. Recipe is Bread+Chocolate+Potato+Sweet Popcorn+Meat. The difficulty differs from each other. For example, Hardtack is just needed 1 bread.
