ArmA 3 is like a whole new world in the ArmA universe. It's set in the year 2032 and technology has advanced so much into the future that the US Army's standard issue rifle changed to a futuristic MX series, which looks a lot like the SCAR models. So many of the vehicles in ArmA look like modern day vehicles, like the Strider from ArmA looks like the Fennek, and the main battle tank where the Strider comes from, looks like the Panther from the modern German Armored corps. Meanwhile, there are other factions, but America's vehicles don't look like anything we see today except for the commache and the Blackhawk.

I've never played ArmA 3, but from what I've heard it's set a few years in the future. Military suppliers all over the world are already working on some pretty damn futuristic stuff though ;)

The independant army used great tech but old, compared to US and CSAT

Oh my god... This makes me concerned... Is the technology used in ArmA 3 already our currnt-day technology?!

I knew that all along, just wondering if anyone immediatly thought the same thing :-) Good work on it though, would love to see something like the ASP series from Elite Dangerous or the Starbug from Red Dwarf

The Strider IS the Fennek. It was just given a different name in ARMA 3 because Bohemia Interactive probably didn't have the rights for it ;) Also, thanks Kequalizr and Skeeter!

anyone else immediatly think of the strider from arma 3?
Keq 23 Aug, 2016 @ 4:36pm
