can u update this to be compatible with rolls community traits mod so the same thing applies to the "prodigy" and "powerful" congenital traits that has? that would be based asf
Notorious Choker 25 Jul, 2021 @ 5:30pm
Don't know if this works anymore. Metalhawk's suggestion probably never got looked at. Caution download.

slightly worrying name...
Metalhawk 7 Jun, 2019 @ 5:51pm
I don't know if you have any interest in it, but i noticed that you only edit 00_traits in this mod. 02_traits also have five inheritable traits.
In addition, you make a lot of other changes to opinions and ai weighting that probably could be expanded into the other files as well.
There are some minor things that could do with a lookover, i noticed that syphilitic for example has sex_appeal_opinion applied twice.
But overall, a very nice mod. I've used it since it was very new, and it's been present in all my games since.

update?
Erik 7 Apr, 2018 @ 11:09am
could you make a CK2+ submod version of this please?
Bueno Horse  [author] 28 Feb, 2018 @ 7:10pm
It by all rights should be compatable.
The new traits put in 2.8 were added in a seperate file
Have you encountered a bug?
fisto the robo 28 Feb, 2018 @ 6:41pm
Not exactly up to date, missing a bunch of traits added in 2.8 and discrepancies with old traits.
Bueno Horse  [author] 15 Dec, 2017 @ 12:34pm
Yes, it is updated to the latest version
zlatky 15 Dec, 2017 @ 3:51am
Hello there m8! is this mod updated to the latest game-version and latest DLC?
fuzzymcball 4 Dec, 2017 @ 6:44am
Only small problem is that a feature of CK2+ is now disabled - this feature is how congenital traits only appear at the ages of 4/5/6 - now the traits just appear at birth. Not too much of an issue but the feature is a good one as it keeps the suspense of whether your eugenics super-baby program has worked out until your kid is actually old enough for you to find out. Dunno if you're fussed about compatibility with CK2+ but maybe it would be worth it since it's very widely-used. Hopefully this info gave you some insight if you're planning to make it compatible :)
fuzzymcball 4 Dec, 2017 @ 6:44am
Very sorry - it was stupid of me not to mention the fact that I'm using the CK2+ mod. It makes changes to basically all traits so that's probably associated with my problem. I sorted out the problem by copy-pasting the changes you make to the traits into the CK2+ mod folder (eg. birth_inherit_chance = 40/30/whatever). I'm pretty sure the effects are seen in-game since it basically feels like a 50-50 as to whether my kids inherit any of mine or my spouse's traits, plus strong comes up with +3 martial etc.
Bueno Horse  [author] 29 Nov, 2017 @ 11:31am
I'm not sure, it works on my end.
What other mods are you using?
fuzzymcball 25 Nov, 2017 @ 10:26am
Hey, thank you for the quick reply and update, i'm still on the 2.7.2 version and had the same issue as the guy who said nobody was inheriting traits - it's like genius, strong, quick, ugly etc don't even exist cos nobody is even born with them. I assume that this update fixes this? Or was my problem not caused by the fact that the mod was outdated by the 2.8 patch? thanks again
Bueno Horse  [author] 24 Nov, 2017 @ 12:33pm
Updated, now its good for 2.8 games
coco the magical 21 Nov, 2017 @ 5:14pm
I noticed that nobody was inheriting my traits with this mod. I played around with the mod files and changed the chance to 100% for all congenital traits. Still no inheriting of traits. I don't think this works
Bueno Horse  [author] 19 Nov, 2017 @ 7:35pm
Strong normally gives +2 martial and +1 'personal combat rating'
If my mod is working then strong will give +3 martial and +3(Aditional +2 from vanilla) combat rating
fuzzymcball 19 Nov, 2017 @ 3:27pm
Hi, was wondering, to be doubly sure, to check that this mod is working for me Strong will give +3 to martial instead of the usual +2. I was a bit confused, just because in the description above you say that strong gives +2 martial instead of what you said in the comments a while ago (+3). Don't suppose there's any other way to tell?
Bueno Horse  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 1:00pm
I had no idea, never touched the first game
bfel001 13 Aug, 2017 @ 7:11am
No, apparently it was like this in the first Crusader Kings game. It wasn't based on traits AT ALL. What I'm talking about is that if you hover over your characters stats (martial etc.) you see one number is their "base"
Thats how good they are at a thing naturally, if they had exactly zero modifiers like traits.

In the first game, apparently marrying two characters together who had high stats would cause the child to have higher base stats as well.
This apparently ended up making characters in the later ages far more powerful then those in previous generations due to sheer natural selection.

Which is somewhat silly, but also pretty damn cool and something I would like to be able to encourage and use in this game.

The closest thing we have here in the sequel is the various "bloodline" mods if you happen to grab up a bunch of different ones.
Bueno Horse  [author] 7 Aug, 2017 @ 1:44pm
@Bfel001
That idea never crossed my mind for a mod idea, its kind of strange...
Like the trait Pride for instance being a genetic disposition?
bfel001 6 Aug, 2017 @ 5:40pm
Dammit, and here I thought we FINALLY got a mod that outright makes base attributes be based on genetics, instead of just trait based :(
I want to ACTUALLY do medieval eugenics, not get a slight chance of a barely-better ruler >.<
Ghost! 29 Mar, 2017 @ 2:22pm
can you increase the chance of the children to inherit if both the parents have the trait?
Bueno Horse  [author] 10 Mar, 2017 @ 5:25pm

Now I can finally make my Übermensch King.
Bueno Horse  [author] 29 Oct, 2016 @ 9:06am
I have no idea, A1azar
But this mod does make it easily recognizable if the mod is on so you dont have to wait 3 generations to figure it out.
If Strong gives 3 martial points then its on
Sadc0m 27 Oct, 2016 @ 2:13am
Man, please answer if this is compatible with HIP of CK+
SaltyStoryteller 21 Sep, 2016 @ 1:25pm
Hoenstly, I don't even mind the rate at which rare and valuable traits appear, but the increased propensity to pass them down is a GODSEND. I've had everything go horribly wrong, from heirs who marry gorgeous wives dying of heart attacks; to the genius woman my genuis heir was betrothed to, turning out homosexual mere MONTHS before the wedding, to another of my sons marrying a beautiful wife, only to go mad and have their daughter be ugly!
Body Without Organs 16 Sep, 2016 @ 5:18pm
what are you fucking gay?
Bueno Horse  [author] 31 Aug, 2016 @ 3:16pm
Okay thats an updated link to my mod folder
Just take the two that you need
OTFSxdi 31 Aug, 2016 @ 2:51pm
Direct Mod Link? The one you have listed dont work
Bueno Horse  [author] 30 Aug, 2016 @ 10:31am
Yep, its fine.
Even my Reballanced Governments and Religions mod will give the game only a single hickup when loading a save game.
1 Even 30 Aug, 2016 @ 12:48am
Would this work with an existing save file without issue?
Malts 28 Aug, 2016 @ 7:32pm
You can edit sketchy traits yourself
Unsubscribe from sketchy traits
Go to where the mod is saved
Unzip
Common/traits
Edit with notepad or notepad +
change the inherit chance or bith rate chance to whatever I believe they are a percent value
Save the file
Highlight all the files you unziped, and send to compressed file (.zip)
Paste into your mods
You are done really easy
Washer 28 Aug, 2016 @ 3:34pm
Those are both internal links that only you can see. See if there's an option to create a separate download link.
Washer 28 Aug, 2016 @ 3:23pm
The link is to your folder on dropbox that you use to manage your files, not the download for us.
Bueno Horse  [author] 28 Aug, 2016 @ 9:26am
Sketchy traits?

No Patriarchy, but I got a drop box up now take both files and throw them in your Paradox mod folder in My documents.
Brillenfisch 28 Aug, 2016 @ 5:44am
do this for sketchy traits too pls
Washer 27 Aug, 2016 @ 11:15pm
Is there a thread for this on the main forum? Workshop doesn't work for CKII for me.
Feoshi 26 Aug, 2016 @ 11:24pm
I tend to do so in my ck2+ play throughs. Can be handle until the game decides to screw you over and your heir dies, while next in line has really bad stats.
Bueno Horse  [author] 26 Aug, 2016 @ 11:18pm
Yep, you got it.
Though Geniuses are so rare that its really hard to notice that there are twice as many, especially if you cant be bothered to seek them out.
Feoshi 26 Aug, 2016 @ 11:07pm
can't wait for a bunch of geniuses popping around. I assume this is the same for AI, right?
Bueno Horse  [author] 26 Aug, 2016 @ 8:59pm
In an afterthought, I just now realized that the subtle nature of this mod may lead some to think that it is not 'on' so for proof, strong will now give 3 points to martial instead of two.
That will at least prove that the mod has in fact changed files.
