THANK YOU for this!

"the more you let time to the ball to move in the bow, the more you get a randomized value" Yep, and I think that by doing like that, it will be easier to see if the four numbers which are in the center have indeed more chances to be drawn ;)
But still, I think that a cube would be better than a ball because I think that it won't stay that easily above the previous number :)
Geneosis  [author] 1 Aug, 2013 @ 6:31am
Hehe ^^ Thanks for the test bench anyway ;) I think the "central" numbers (those linked to the buttons at the center of the square) have more chances to be activated. But if you want a better randomizer, maybe linking multiple binary randomizer (1 ball, 2 buttons 2 funnels) will be more effective ^^ Also in the current version, the more you let time to the ball to move in the bow, the more you get a randomized value ;)

Haha, just read the desc... I'd better kill myself.
Azkunki 31 Jul, 2013 @ 11:36am
Good system :) But I advice not to use this to pick a random number because some numbers are drawn more often than others ^^
I pushed the button 150 times, "here come the test results" ^^ :

I did it because I was wondering if the numbers 5, 6, 9 and A had more chances to be drawn than the others. I was right, but because of the ball often staying above the same funnel or just moving to a neighbouring one, some other numbers were picked up pretty often. I think that a cube would be better :) Also, I'll try to find a way to get a better random number generator (maybe I already have a nice idea).

Phew, the bouncing ball didn't make the indicator plates stay calm, there should a holder be placed between each. I know, that could be way too much items ... sadly. Did I mention already, how this map reminds me on my " PortCalc "? Oh yes, I forgot - you already faved it ^,^
Geneosis  [author] 10 Oct, 2012 @ 10:00am
Will add the map to the list ^^
And yeah NAND gate and NOR gates were originally present in the BEE mod, but they caused some bugs so Ben removed them as said carol ;)

Geneosis
please try a map I just published.

I hope you enjoy.

carol
thankyou
carol 9 Oct, 2012 @ 4:37pm
I think he did implement the other gates but there were problems so he removed them again.

Not a big deal though the other gates are easy to construct from the 3 basic gates.
mood3rd 9 Oct, 2012 @ 1:19pm
thankyou for your reply.
yes, the BEE mod.
almost every gate, shame.
but you can still do the rest, the way you did without the BEE mod.
perhaps the auther of the BEE mod, has overlooked other logic gates.
or has not had time yet, to implement ?
but may do them if requested, when time allows ?
Geneosis  [author] 9 Oct, 2012 @ 12:57pm
Hem, if you talk about the BEE mod, it will just add the basic logic gates : NOT, AND and OR. But you can do almost every gate you want if you combine those 3 ;)
mood3rd 9 Oct, 2012 @ 12:24pm
your usual brilliant standard.
it's a shame we can't make selected lights go on & off.
it would have been more spectacular, than pannels.
you have used a lot of mechanisms / gates in your maps.
does the gates in the mod your using, do all these & more ?
or just some of them ?
carol 8 Sep, 2012 @ 5:43am
NIceley done - as you say similar to my roll the dice map. I made mine much more efccient with my Russian Roulette map (doens't use so many components) - but your slooks nice and makes it clear how it works.
Geneosis  [author] 24 Aug, 2012 @ 3:44am
Well I just made a quick puzzle for the exit in this one :p And you can run... Or use your portals X)
stormsend 24 Aug, 2012 @ 2:42am
very good at generating random numbers but I'm not sure what the exit procedure is unless it's press the button and run like hell. i tip my hat to you. thumbs up.
Craggle 14 Jul, 2012 @ 2:27pm
Clever concept, very interesting to see done.

cyron43 1 Jul, 2012 @ 5:40am
I second what Geneosis said. I did several experiments with ball buttons lately and having the ball either hit or even stay in the button tray is always a big problem. Using a funnel for it seems to be the most reliable method.
LPChip 1 Jul, 2012 @ 4:56am
Hmm, yeah... I've considered that to be possible too, but if you link the button also to a funnel that turns on the moment that button is hit, you can use the reverse one to get it out again. But the more I think of it, the more likely it is that it won't work well and might get the same delays anyway.
Geneosis  [author] 1 Jul, 2012 @ 1:03am
What do you mean by "using gravity alone"? Like make the balls fall on the buttons by washing it? I thought about that but the problem is that the ball have a lot of chances to fail and finish out of any button X)
LPChip 30 Jun, 2012 @ 3:31pm
Really a good concept. I bet using gravity alone will make it quicker. This is a good one to play around with.
cyron43 29 Jun, 2012 @ 3:49pm
That's one heck of a device. Excellent job!
Geneosis  [author] 26 Jun, 2012 @ 6:22am
New Map Creator Tool! Hidden & Fake connections ^^
Geneosis  [author] 12 Jun, 2012 @ 12:17pm
If you are saying that when the laser is active, the door is still not open... That's a bug... And I don't think I can do anything against that X)
Geneosis  [author] 12 Jun, 2012 @ 12:16pm
The door is open only when the ball is not on the ball button ;)
DannyVFilms 12 Jun, 2012 @ 12:08pm
The door won't open
DannyVFilms 12 Jun, 2012 @ 12:07pm
The laser should activate...but it didn't.
Geneosis  [author] 11 Jun, 2012 @ 3:04am
@protoborg : Woops, yes sorry X) But people (including me) use to call them Franken Cubes ;)
protoborg 10 Jun, 2012 @ 3:35pm
@Geneosis They ARE called Frankenturrets.
Soup Calhoun 7 Jun, 2012 @ 7:12pm
Yeah Franken cubes, I need more sleep.
Geneosis  [author] 7 Jun, 2012 @ 11:16am
Maybe Franken cubes are good to trig some event after a random time, but not so much to be used repetitively like there ^^
Geneosis  [author] 7 Jun, 2012 @ 11:14am
Frankenturrets? You mean franken cubes? Yeah maybe ^^ I didn't thought about that yet, but maybe I will add more random systems later ;)
Soup Calhoun 7 Jun, 2012 @ 11:04am
Frankenturrets could also be used for random functions. As their movement speed varies.
Geneosis  [author] 6 Jun, 2012 @ 5:28pm
Update : Exit door is now working correctly ^^
Geneosis  [author] 6 Jun, 2012 @ 4:56pm
Glad to help you ^^
Timoteeei 6 Jun, 2012 @ 12:29pm
Yeah, really great concept! You have planted in me the germ of a new idea which I will try to implement in the my next map :D
Rengor 5 Jun, 2012 @ 10:44pm
That's a fun concept, I like that!
