Hmmm, not one of your best ... would have been even more funny to also see the poor tower instead of just hearing ^^,
Geneosis  [author] 18 Oct, 2012 @ 1:27pm
Oh, this one... Well if you are stuck in you may just have to wait until a random movement of the panel will free you ^^" Or use noclip X)
Sorry about that anyway, this was only supposed to be a deco effect, I can't really prevent people to be stuck there without breaking the design ;)
Snarplord XVI 18 Oct, 2012 @ 1:03pm
Screenshot button isn't working, but it's the top right corner panel in Picture 2.
Geneosis  [author] 18 Oct, 2012 @ 8:33am
@Cannons McChop : Hem, can you take a screenshot of the panel you talk about please? I'm not sure I see which one you mean...
Snarplord XVI 17 Oct, 2012 @ 4:51pm
It is possible to get stuck in the panel with the laser/catcher.
Geneosis  [author] 13 Sep, 2012 @ 6:24am
Well if you need any timing, logic or some kind of circuit feature, I suggest trying the first maps of my Map Creator Tools collection ;) Then if you are still stuck, maybe I can help you to complete your mechanism ^^
Finoleo 12 Sep, 2012 @ 10:29pm
I appoligize. I though that you were able to see the timing devices once the doors opened up...

I just figured out how to "noclip" and must say that I like the simplicity of what you did for your chamber. I was thinking about doing something similiar myself, but have never got around to it. I used a shorter version of the time delay on my Lite Bridge (retro), though I recomend doing the original lite bridge first, as the (retro) is more of a sequel.

I am trying to develop a timing laser relay that slowly marches though say 6 or 8 activations before repeating. I need to figure out how to initially activate the actual mechinisms and then to keep it self sustaining without collapsing. Any suggestions?
Geneosis  [author] 12 Sep, 2012 @ 2:06am
@Finoleo : Well what you described is precisely the aim of the map ^^ And all that is intended ;) This map was some kind of weird/strange chamber I would like to create a moment ago ;)
Finoleo 11 Sep, 2012 @ 12:30pm
I'm not sure what is happening with your map, but only one door opens for me after a delay, and I the have to struggle my way to the exit over the backs of all the other closed panels. Also, one of the panels is glitching open and closed. I don't know if it is just my system or did you intened for them to all open up?
Mr.Johno 22 Aug, 2012 @ 11:49pm
there is something wrong with this map... haha. nice.
Geneosis  [author] 10 Aug, 2012 @ 1:24pm
That was one of my first try of "GLaDOS-like broken chamber" ;)
Or maybe Wheatley-like?...
stormsend 10 Aug, 2012 @ 12:58pm
strange idea but you pulled it off well. can't imagine where the idea came from. thumbs up.
Geneosis  [author] 21 Jul, 2012 @ 2:49pm
^^ Glad you liked it!
Well maybe noclip is probably the best idea to avoid waiting in the main room and get bored X)
Habber the Quesomancer 21 Jul, 2012 @ 2:00pm
basically the script goes as this
Haber: wat's that?
turret: HELP, NOOO, HELP, HOORAY, NUUU,
Haber: wtf is going on? *noclips and sees the work you've done*
wow
Geneosis  [author] 17 Jul, 2012 @ 2:49am
Yep ^^ Oh, maybe I could link some maps using the mechanisms in the Map Creator Tools descriptions?
Craggle 15 Jul, 2012 @ 2:54pm
Interesting little idea, and nicely shows an application of what can be done with some of the mechanisms in your timer demo maps.
Geneosis  [author] 29 Jun, 2012 @ 9:16am
Well, the noisy stuff was mainly there to make wait the player until something happen :p
Timoteeei 29 Jun, 2012 @ 8:44am
In the first time, the exit door did not open, but at the second try all mechanisms worked well. it is an interesting idea to use noisy stuff to hide sound of the main mechanism =)
.sheridan .vespo 24 Jun, 2012 @ 5:37am
That was fun! I especially liked the constantly shooting turret!
No criticism on my part!
Le Petit Mort 22 Jun, 2012 @ 1:20pm
Pros:
• Narrative;
• Potentially useful mechanic;

Cons:
• Proof-of-concept;
• Waiting is solution;
DannyVFilms 15 Jun, 2012 @ 6:49am
quite true
Geneosis  [author] 14 Jun, 2012 @ 2:18pm
Noclip in this map is not a bad thing ^^ It can teach you some interesting triggers and mechanisms ;)
DannyVFilms 14 Jun, 2012 @ 12:51pm
I think everyone has done noclip at one point or another...
Ninjababe 14 Jun, 2012 @ 11:08am
That was interesting... I restarted the chamber because in my head jumping into panel gears = death. And, I thought it had a bug. Then, I got it. I did noclip around after reacing the exit just to get a look at the other sections. It's a great concept.
Geneosis  [author] 14 Jun, 2012 @ 3:35am
Well, better to start with this tutorial .
forest_of_trees 13 Jun, 2012 @ 3:16pm
how do you activate it?
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 3:04pm
How to use Hammer [lmgtfy.com] ^^
forest_of_trees 13 Jun, 2012 @ 2:45pm
how do u use it?
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 2:34pm
@natea2000 : Hammer is the original map editor for Portal 2 ^^ But it is not as easy to use as the PeTI editor ;) The interface is more like a 3D modeling software if you see what I mean...
forest_of_trees 13 Jun, 2012 @ 2:25pm
what is hammer?
DannyVFilms 13 Jun, 2012 @ 10:35am
8D YAY!
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 10:21am
Yep, will add more puzzles of your workshop to my list ^^
DannyVFilms 13 Jun, 2012 @ 9:22am
Glad I could help. Think you could help me with some feed back on my maps? Not exactly seeing many customers these days...
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 7:18am
Hmmm... I think I know how to do that... And yeah it will help if I do so X)
DannyVFilms 13 Jun, 2012 @ 7:12am
I've seen people put in their own preview screenshots, so you could actually do anything you want as long as you put in that preview image. The only thing is...I don't know how to add images like that.
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 6:53am
Ah, no, I remember why I didn't put them in them map : It's because I want the preview of the map too look exactly like the "new chamber" (except the exit) ^^
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 6:46am
What I know about the item limit is that the very maximum is about 2000 and the PeTI editor is currently limited to 1750.
And about Hammer, I want to create pure PeTI maps for the moment, until I found no more idea with the available mechanisms...
Then I will probably switch to Hammer to make awesome maps with world portals and other cool stuff ;)
DannyVFilms 13 Jun, 2012 @ 6:29am
I don't know if it would work or not, but maybe hammer can help you get past that limit, considering the scale of most hammer maps.
Geneosis  [author] 13 Jun, 2012 @ 6:15am
Oh, yeah, somme flipping pannels could be intersting ^^ Will try to add that if the item limit allow me to do so...
DannyVFilms 12 Jun, 2012 @ 5:08pm
The waiting time should either be cut down, or you need more panels to keep people occupied. Maybe flip panels to make the wall the right colors?
Geneosis  [author] 12 Jun, 2012 @ 1:16pm
There is actually two black pannels around the exit moving randomly a bit... And only one is supposed to open at the end ^^ So yeah this map is supposed to look like totally broken and glitched :p
DannyVFilms 12 Jun, 2012 @ 12:45pm
Yeah sure the exit works, but the wait was kinda boring. Maybe you could add some panels so you have something to look at while you wait forever and a day. And were all the panels going to open? Or was I supposed to walk/float(glitch) over them?
Pluisje 8 Jun, 2012 @ 1:11am
Yes, ist's different. Yours canbe solved. :)
Geneosis  [author] 6 Jun, 2012 @ 6:21pm
Map updated ^^ Did all the changes we talked about ;) And the exit is now working correctly :p
Geneosis  [author] 6 Jun, 2012 @ 4:52pm
XD The last door will not open because the version of the PeTI editor was broken, that's not part of the test ;) Will fix this now ^^
And about testing... This time I used to quit before the exit was opened XD
M1kke 6 Jun, 2012 @ 11:16am
Yes, too much waiting, maybe half of that would be fine... so was this supposed to do something in the final corridor with a broken ceiling? How did you have the nerves to test this while creating? ;)
Geneosis  [author] 6 Jun, 2012 @ 8:52am
Ok, lets go! Will do that soon ^^
TechDragon 6 Jun, 2012 @ 6:38am
I did like the way it resembled the new chamber. I suspect that you may be onto something with both of those ideas. They both seem like they would make the room look less like it was just broken.
Geneosis  [author] 6 Jun, 2012 @ 4:32am
Or maybe I could make move a bit and randomly some pannels so that you can see something may happen here?
