Like what LevelSix_SYSTEM said, would love it if it costed copper wire and glass instead.

If you can't afford to pay 60 pixels for a light, you aren't selling enough stuff. The pricing seems fine to me.

Really should require Glass & Copper Wire instead of Pixels added to this mods recipe or maybe a separate mod for more immersion seeking players. Would be much appreciated

Fuyuno 16 Mar, 2017 @ 3:32am
i hope this mod wasn't abandoned... if it was, i hope the uploader won't mind me fixing the one-handed and the recipe
Fuyuno 16 Mar, 2017 @ 3:29am
@CarbonBasedLifeform - they tried, it didn't work - i think CF said somewhere along the line that they intended to add that upgrade to the MM anyway.. but that was a LONG time ago.

@uploader: any chance you can make the cheap light one-handed instead of 2-handed? would be superbly appreciated. also, why pixels?

Im surprised no one made a mod, where the manipulator has the flashlight attached to it.
Solayr 10 Feb, 2017 @ 2:06pm
That would be nice to have craftable medieval, sandstone, floran or traditional/hylotl/ornate torches.
Iradicate 15 Nov, 2016 @ 9:32pm
How about make them one handed? I'd pay for those.
BigGreenGayDad 27 Oct, 2016 @ 7:47pm
Why use pixels for the crafting recipe?
Iradicate 13 Oct, 2016 @ 11:13pm
I like the idea a lot, but that's too expensive for me, this doesn't really inspire me to stop using torches, which initially drew me in. I'd like one that requires more advancement to craft them but they should still be actually somewhat cheap. I like the copper and glass idea. Maybe a chunk of something else to power it.

1 glass and 1 copper wire will easily be able to craft a cheap light, maybe even 2 if you use the materials efficiently.
Just make the recipe available when you first scan one or acquire the needed materials.
By the time you first scan one, it will be long before you have pixel printer but by the time you can craft copper wires, you can't craft copper wires immediatly, but you do get them close to the start...
Also... 300 pixels, its easier and more desirable to craft them anywhere from 1-1000 at a time with 50 pixels each, instead of multiples of 5 at 300 per 5...
Just my own view. What would be really awesome though is multiple recipes for the same item, all of which said alternate recipes is acceptable.

cheap lights is an easier name than say Bargin Bin Bulbs lol
Mike 30 Aug, 2016 @ 8:34pm
yes but they are CHEAP lights :P
Starman Ultra  [author] 30 Aug, 2016 @ 7:31pm
Well yeah! This mod isn't meant to make things cheaper :D
Mike 30 Aug, 2016 @ 5:55pm
In all honesty though given the massive abundace of copper and sand it is cheaper than using pixels for the lights.
Starman Ultra  [author] 30 Aug, 2016 @ 4:20pm
Updated so you craft 5 at a time for 300 pixels. I think it's a happy medium between sitting through crafting 1 at a time, and wanting fewer than 10 and having to pay 600 pixels up front (cost prohibitive for newer characters). Also I don't want to put multiple recipes into your crafting list.

Added note: They can still be crafted one at a time through the Pixel Printer.
Starman Ultra  [author] 30 Aug, 2016 @ 3:14pm
@Mike I was thinking about making a batch craft since the crafting time is a little long, so 10 lights for 600 pixels. I don't intend to make them use different ingredients though, and needing reagents is one of the reasons I didn't like torches in the first place.
Mike 30 Aug, 2016 @ 10:04am
Might I reccomend that you add a recepie that allows us to craft cheap lights 10 at a time for the cost of say 5 glass and some copper wire?
Ω Spriggan Ω 30 Aug, 2016 @ 8:59am
I do wish standard coal torches wouldn't function in some enviroments.....
airless....missing the oxygen part of the fire triangle
sandstorm....would get knocked down
hot planet...torch would burn to ash instantly

that way at least the cheap light made from pixles would be more real in a sense...

I tatally agree, Starbound suffers from a unbalanced amount of fantasy content for a sci-fi setting :/

You helped set that balance back some :D ty
