lol sorry dan, its actually tied to a trigger that fires with any movement of him, was all i could figure out with my first time using the dev tools instead of the PTI system, and as it is now thanks to a complete computer crash, i no longer have the source files to make any changes on any of my maps.

Do the lights turn out and Chells eyes go red in this? I heard about a map pack where chells eyes turn red and this one has chell so is this it?

@leocatz The Space core file I used here was custom made by me using the models and sound files that come with the game, you could add a core too if you use the hammer/sdk editor, tho it is a bit of a chore programming in the sequences. As for the radio, thats 3 objects in the sdk editor, a sound file, a prop, and a trigger to activate the sound. If you are using the built-in editor to make your own portal maps, you'll have no hope of adding any of these things, you'll need to learn the Portal2 SDK.

Wow I'm impressed that people are still playing this map and liking it.. i haven't touched Hammer (map editor) in what feels like forever and its nice to see my maps still getting some play time. I may run through this whole map again and give it a complete overhaul and fix that never shutting-up space core and the floating trees and such and add some sort of catch basin for the ball so it doesnt go and fizzle itself out.

grim, yeah Chell clone alpha (as I call her) is pretty creepy there, creepier still is how her eyes actually follow you around, and thats not by my design, its built into the model file apparently. when i first put her in there and tested the level out, it nearly made me crawl out of my own skin when her eyes shifted over and looked at me out of the blue. All in all I tried to give some substance to the hints GLaDOS dropped about cloning humans throughout the game, and since Chell had been in "extended relaxation" for 9999!@#^&%9 years, prime candidate.

Spluff is right -- in the garden, the blasted ball rolls through the laser and turns it off, whereupon the ball is destroyed and a new one drops inside the emancipation field... gave up after ten of them did that.

Thanks, I am sure it isn'tdue to leaks though because there arent any red leak messages (as there used to be) and the map DOES load, just without tables, ladders etc. The things that will spawn are me, the other 3 NPC's, guns, med packs and thats about it. Not sure why. But yeah I will try the built in bug checker and also I'll rebuild my skybox manually without the carve tool, see if that does anything. Thanks for the help.

Oh, also, always check for leaks, load the portal file if the map fails to compile properly, i've had leaks with a .05 unit gap all simply because i changed by grid size and things jumped a bit. And as the pro's say, never EVER carve!. when you compile, pay attention to any warning mesages you get, they may just be warnings but they can have a nasty effect when compiled in HDR.

@Shadowreaper I suggest using the built-in bug check to check for issues, it tends to find most things and most of the time the error tends to be something as simple as a wrong number. Also, start like I did, make a big empty room and make sure that works first, then start adding stuff, making groups as you go, so when something breaks it, you'll know what. most of my later maps are grouped nested 5 layers deep, first by 'section' then by 'room' then 'type' (IE catwalks get their own group, office chairs get another) then more if needed (IE lamps on desks) I then also group the same objects into main groups, so if i say, want to turn off every turret in the map for testing, i can do so with one checkbox.

Philly, not sure if you can help but I use L4D2 Authoring tools and am trying to make maps, this is using Hammer. But when I start it, the game comes up with a message "Game Unplayable" I can walk around, shoot my gun, pick up other guns BUT most of my items won't ever spawn, especially the physics items (such as tables, ladders etc). I use a 3D skybox, making it the exact same way as a YT Tutorial, but still nothing works. Do you know how to fix this?

I keep getting more comments on this map then I do on my next 2 lol, attention everyone, this one was my FIRST purely hammer-made map and as such isnt the best, please please play my next 2 as well, and I do have a start on #4 I just got bored of mapping but if you people actually like my work, I'll keep it up

@caitsit51 Ohh, the blonde girl at the end, yeah i guess since it ends the level rather quickly at that point its hard to see whats in there, its actually the same player model you see in the 'clone' tubes at the beginning, and the cube is in there for continuity with the start of episode 2 (tho i removed the person in the chamber to make it seem like you'd been in there for some time) Thanks for liking my map, this one was actually my first map using the pro editor, and it really shows (the trees are floating about a foot off the grass lol, cant be bothered to edit and re-upload) so its nice to get some praise :)

@gekaler Umm, yeah, it is, i guess, ask valve, its their texture file lol and i was too lazy to overlay a noportal onto any grass, although when I put it there i had no idea it was portalable until someone mentioned it earlier back in the comments, I left it portalable as it made the getting of the reflectocubes a little easier for people.

@catsit51 i'm not sure what you're talkin about, but if you're referring to the person in the portrait on the wall, thats a stock Cave Johnson photo from the old aperture area. I havent gotten around to any rattman related stuff yet.
