using a book instead of an empty scoll to make a schematic was indeed what i had in mind.

Hi Zuriel. I would love to be able to put books in the bookcase. But right now there is a problem with how mods can use the "whitelist" feature that lets only certain things be put into containers. If the devs are able to fix that, I will definitely add it. For your second question, do you mean you would like to use the Book as a schematic in the game? As something that can be used for research? That would be interesting! I should look at that.

i made 3 books and tried to put them in a smale crate after putting in a book by pressing F the book in the crate just switched with one from my inventory,

and i have 2 questions about the books
*first question; will it be possible in the future to put a book in the book case?
*second question; is it possible to make a book in to a blueprint

yes, I think it is not possible to use a tool this way. I found a solution for the persistent books - I think it should work if the developer answer in this and the linked thread: https://forum.keenswh.com/threads/scripting-example-in-0-6-1.7398945/

Hah! I don't hate that idea. But I don't think I can do interactions on it if it acts like a tool or weapon -- I don't think I could make it open/close, or have text. I could check though!

I tried but it seems not possible. I created a C# script for the book and changed the name of every book to its EntityID after initialising. But it seems that every EntityComponent will be destroyed after gathering. Tools and Weapons are different - they stay alive all the time. Perhaps the book should be a tool? :)

Terrific! I'm glad. Now the next trick will be getting that text to stay with the book even when it is picked up and put into inventory. I am looking for a good scripter for that. :)

Hi glubbfreund. Yeah I want to look at its hitbox again because it can be difficult. It gets mixed up with the hitbox for writing text. If you aim the pointer at the spine of the book, that is usually the best place.

We can’t keep old versions of mods online the same way Keen can keep old versions of the base game, sadly. I do still have the old files. Maybe I can put them up on DropBox so they are available. I will look at that.

Where can I get a old 0.5 ver of this mod. It does not load up anymore in dedicated server. (eg old version of 758546771.sbm from Aug 25, 2017)

Ok, figured it out, I noticed every time I re-booted the server it was re-downloading your mod, I checked the logs and saw a few issues so I DELETED the mod completely on the server and poof issue solved when it next re booted. So I dont know if that was on my end or Steams but... thanks for your time.

It appears the candle and storage jar in this mod suddenly stopped working on Multi player dedicated server. they were fine but suddenly all my candles vanished that had been made and they can not be re-crafted ( shows in craft menu but cant create ).

Hey Jason. The book has no placeable icons. Unfortunately there is no way, using the code in-game, to turn off the "Icon" part. So you can only have text. Also, when I first put the book in, I wanted to add a bunch of variants, so you could have cool bookshelves with all sorts of different ones. I still want to do that. I'm waiting on the Devs to figure out how to preserve the text in a book when it goes into and out of your inventory. If they figure that out, I'll be adding new books. I suppose I could drop the "36" part for now because I get that it does look odd.

Hi Chikun -- thank you for the note! I wish I could adjust the position of individual items. Unfortunately those are set by Keen. If I changed the mod so that twigs didn't stick out of the side, then other items would behave weirdly instead. The same problem holds with the pyramid stacking. If I changed that around so that it looked great for one type of item, it would look terrible for many others. I will look to see if there are small improvements I can make, but I think overall it will be difficult!

Is there a way for you to stop twigs from sticking out the side of the crate and for the items not to tower like a pyramid but rather be a little more scattered? im grateful as is, if it is too much trouble.

Hey stractus -- I don't have those craftable in Survival yet. I still need to tidy up the models etc. on them. I am hoping to get them all up & Survival-ready before too much longer. I'm glad you're enjoying the mod!

Are the blankets, knife and spoon craftable in survival mode yet? If so, where are the crafted from? I really like this mod as it will add a lot of visual flavor to the castle kitchen I'm working on.

Hi Linda. Research for mods doesn't work right. So you don't have to learn anything. You can make the crates, candle, bread peel, and pottery jar right away at the crafting table. You can make the book at the spinning wheel.

Just installed a bunch of mods ... and got some errors from many of them ...
The popup of the error log however was cause by another (an outdated) mod that caused a critical error. (though didn't load so it actually didn't touched yours)

The error messages came up at startup of the game.

Thanks Bizz. I see that error crop up in various places & people's mods. I almost think it's a game bug rather than a mod bug. I'll have a look again on my end. Have you noticed this bug doing anything weird in the game?

Not servers Titanius. Survival mode. Many of the objects are still Creative-only. Once they finally fix Research so things can all be gated right, I can make more of the things Survival-ready. But as far as I know this mod works on servers fine!

There's a couple steps to make a mod work in Medieval Engineers. First, when you start the game, click "Load World." Highlight the world you want to play, then click "Edit Settings." Then click "Mods" down at the bottom. That will take you to a screen that has all the mods you subscribe to on the left. Highlight my Containers & Accessories mod, then click the right arrow to add that mod to your world. After you do that, the mod will be ready to use! You just load the game like normal, and then find my items when you press the G key. They will be there among all the regular blocks & items you can use.

yeah I build in Creative but my Problem is, I dont know where I find the Items in the Game you know?:P I searched in the Modlist Ingame but didnt find them and in the normal Itemlist they're also not to find.

Hi BeatGameLP. All of the mods work in Creative. However, they are not all supported yet in Survival. Right now in Survival you can build the large and small wooden crate, the wicker basket, and the pottery jar and candle.
