Thank you for your work, bro. I have a question to ask you. Regarding the helicopter, I created a helicopter using the garage, but the person who gets in can't exit the helicopter, and the mission can't be completed. Is there any way to solve this

Changed difficulty settings ? I doubt anything in ArmA3 itself has changed enough to make the mission incompatible but I haven't got the time to investigate right now. You can try getting the source files and seeing if things are different in Eden.

Hey rambo, love this mod and recommend it to all budding pilots I meet. However, the objective markers are no longer appearing on the HUD for me. Any idea what might be causing this?

@Two Tony Tony: AFAIRecall mission has difficulty settings to force 1st person only (because that's what is my default anyway), download the source files and edit the difficulty in Eden.

@mijamijamija of course, all the source files for the mission are public on github for a purpose. Pull-request for the max-distance would be most welcome.I would like all the missions that use the scripts to also have the sources available somewhere (github/gitlab/whatever floats your boat) for further improvement by the community and recognition is of course nice. Remember to ping me with a link and I'll add it to the desc.

@mijamijamija sorry I haven't got the time, but you can do it quite easily yourself: see the "customizing" link above, the Eden mission editor is quite easy to use. Look into this mission in editor to see how the vehicle init script is added.

waka floka: the scripts are in github. It's not hard to adapt it to any map (basically just copy the scripts and create the LZ markers in the map, hardest part is setting up the auto-respawn for vehicles at the airfield and even that is easy, just see how it's done and do the same.if you have any idea at all how to edit scenarios you'll be done in an hour. If not, take the time to learn, it will be fun and shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

It seems something has changed in hitboxes or the map, adjusted heli positions and exported new version, should work better now.

Is it just me, or does the Hummingbird just constantly explode on spawn? It appears to stop once you've flown the Ghost Hawk away a little and let it explode 20-30 times, but not ideal!

rambo I have no idea how to script so I can't modify the files myself but would it be possible to add LZ max distance to the parameters? I've added your scripts to a jungle map but some of the LZs are upwards of 9km from each other and then it becomes flying trainer instead of landing trainer. Other than that, awesome mission though

Just subscribe to this on steam and it should be available under multiplayer missions (host new LAN multiplayer game on Altis). The github link is the raw mission source, for use in the Eden editor, it's not playable as-is.

How and where do I download this Helicopter Training mission? I am still learning things in Arma 3 and am getting into the helos.

It does look like a great way to help me learn before I go into multi player and start killing of my passengers while learning to fly better.
I could use and will greatly appreciate any help I can get. I am in the process of getting my X52 joystick set up so I will be flying with that, and any help I can get with that to will be greatly appreciated.

Question: For some reason my friend cannot destroy my engine while hes in the co-pilot seat and I'm the pilot. Is there a way to get this working?

yeah I might have removed that... there is a repair script now but it is possible to get youself stuck in a place where you break rotors or something immediately... I'll do something about it at some point when I have time, or if you're quicker just make a PR on github.

Great mission, I tested it with a friend just now and it works perfectly in multiplayer. The Apex vehicles just aren't enterable without Apex, so will still work for those who don't have them.


I think you did remove the manual helicopter respawn function though; what happens if a helicopter becomes stuck and the player can't recover it? Will it respawn if it is not destroyed?

As for other islands: it's relatively simple based on the code on this mission, just make a new mission, copy my code and then add the vehicle spawn points and LZ markers on the map (this is the tedious part), then edit the init.sqf and fix LZCOUNT, all should be set then.
