Ok dumb question, I have my ducts but they all have the little lightning bolt indicating there is no power...
Emelio Lizardo 14 Jan, 2018 @ 7:28pm
Really need that duct heat pump to work better. I'm still not clear on why it's necessary to use room air to circulate instead of just taking heat/cold into the ducts straight off the heater/cooler.
Emelio Lizardo 14 Jan, 2018 @ 6:11pm
Wow, since the vanella cooler is treated like a wall, you can install both that and the small wall cooler in the same square.
DuckAndCower 2 Jun, 2017 @ 8:03am
This was one of my favorite mods. Really hoping to see it get updated someday.
Sentient_Worm 18 May, 2017 @ 2:26pm
Is there an ETA on the A17 update? Currently useing The A16 on A17 unstable but only things that work are the coolers and maybe a small heater. Havnt taken the time to fully test everything.
The vents and medium heater are hit and miss if they can be built the active vent dont seem to function at all.

i dont know what life in rimworld is with out this mod
Reset 4 Jan, 2017 @ 2:20pm
Just found out last nigh that RImworld got an update to A16, and as much as I want to play I might just hold out till RedistHeat is available for A16, I don't think I know how to play without it, lol. Thanks a bunch for your dedication to the community!
Morgloz  [author] 4 Jan, 2017 @ 12:34pm
Yes, the next release will have the ductwork disabled until I finish it
Vulpsune 4 Jan, 2017 @ 12:15pm
Is it possible for there to be one with just the big heater + cooler without all the.. messy pipeing stuff?
I only really use it for the big heater and cooler.
Zobaken 4 Jan, 2017 @ 8:00am
Please make an update for A16, I really miss that mod. :br_cry:
тетеря, блин 3 Jan, 2017 @ 2:02pm
Absolutely essential. Waiting for the update. Thanks.
MBoot 3 Jan, 2017 @ 11:10am
Thanks for keeping it updated! One of my favourite mods for sure!
DeadMechGaming 2 Jan, 2017 @ 10:12pm
Good to know this will be coming soon. I play the mars mod in the polar regions and the vanilla heaters are way to weak to deal with the harsh winters (usually around -240 to -300 at night during the winters)
Morgloz  [author] 2 Jan, 2017 @ 5:00pm
I should have the heaters and coolers ready in 2 or 3 days. The ductwork will require more time, so the next release won't have them enabled.
ComfyVibes 2 Jan, 2017 @ 7:08am
As someone who personally only like to play in the harshest winter conditions, the game is unplayable without this mod! Little heaters dont do the game justice! Thank you for updating this~ :steamhappy:

Currently incompatible with A16.
☾⎛sιтєʀ⎞☽ 20 Dec, 2016 @ 6:04pm
Is this getting an update for A16?
Alex 9 Dec, 2016 @ 4:31am
I don't have any problems with this mod, for the record. At least, none that I have encountered yet.
RadGH 2 Dec, 2016 @ 9:50pm
Thanks for making this "sort of" work in Alpha 15. I've been playing for 98 game days. I used this mod all the time back in the day, a shame the original author disappeared.

However, it looks like the mod is too buggy. My heaters no longer function now that my base has gotten fairly large. Hope this bug can get fixed some day. This was a great mod!
DizzyChimera 18 Nov, 2016 @ 2:03pm
this mod seems to be broken kad
Kadjunga 4 Nov, 2016 @ 1:55am
The freezer previously was able to sustain -5C with just one cooler as well
Kadjunga 4 Nov, 2016 @ 1:55am
I don't get what i am doign wrong, the duct systems just doesn't work?

The net temperature readout does not even register and even with 4 industrial coolers and 8 intake valves, they can't seem to cool a medium sized freezer with the duct system. All the ducts are upper, intakes are set to upper and i have normal outlets in the freezer.

double checked that the whole line is built but... it's not getting there? The distance isn't that huge as well. Maybe 20-30'sh tiles away?

Also, in the living quarters built a few wall heaters and some ducts / smart vents w. intakes on a separate system and it didn't heat the rooms at all, only through the passive transmission through doors. The net temperature there does not show up as well
DizzyChimera 22 Oct, 2016 @ 1:55pm
Addition to current problem: I've got four rooms with no heat source staying at 21 degrees or so. It seems to be generating heat somewhere in your math.
Guess I'll set up some regular heaters and disable my ducts until then.
SNJ 16 Oct, 2016 @ 7:36am
Yes GABS.. read all the comments.

Till Morgloz says everything is working as it should, I'll wait with enabling this mod.. :)
GABS 15 Oct, 2016 @ 6:33pm
Is there something wrong with the ducts? The temperature inside the ducts keep oscilating 15 degrees:
https://youtu.be/K6SjP2m7z_c
I guess it should be -9C but it doesn't go lower despite having a lot of coolers.
Morgloz  [author] 15 Oct, 2016 @ 8:13am
Try without smart ducts. The net behaviour changes drastically depending on the number of pipes and inlets/outlets of the net, but smart ducts make that even worse.

In my test colony a 4x4 room with a industrial heater can heat a 3x3 a 5x5 and a 7x7 rooms at the same time with only an intake and three pasive outlets, and the least amount of pipes
Boanerges 15 Oct, 2016 @ 7:59am
Am I correct in understanding that the duct system isn't working currently? Or just the smart vents? Currently I have many, many industrial heaters in the system (tucked away in small, self contained rooms) pumping out heat, with ducts and intake vents through the rooms. However, no matter how high I kick up the target temp on the heaters --currently around 100C -- I don't get the network temp up. Reading below, I can't quite parse if the issue is smart vents or the system as a whole. Or am I just one of the unlucky ones? (Not a complaint, regardless. I just want to understand).
Morgloz  [author] 11 Oct, 2016 @ 5:07am
They should, they use the same code as the vanilla ones.
SNJ 11 Oct, 2016 @ 5:01am
By the way I have question.. does the standard vent in this mod work exactly the same as the vanilla vents? Somehow I get the feeling the vanilla vents distributed heat better, but that could me be.
SNJ 11 Oct, 2016 @ 3:51am
Cool mod Morgloz, can't wait till the ducts are working again :)
Morgloz  [author] 8 Oct, 2016 @ 3:38am
@Boanerges The only reason there are two tipes of ducts is so you can run two networks through the same tile without them connecting.

@canshow They are broken and i'm working on it.
canshow 6 Oct, 2016 @ 2:48pm
Seems like the ducts do a poor job at cooling multiple spaces. Currently have 4 industrial coolers with 10 inlets to the room, and it stays below 20F when outside temp is above 90F. I connect 4 active vents and the net duct temperature hovers around 60F. Add anymore and it goes to above 80F. I also had it where the net duct temp was hovering at least 10F above outside temperature when i had many active vents connected. Wtf? Either super nerfed or broken. Will stay with medium coolers for now.
Boanerges 6 Oct, 2016 @ 1:45pm
I love the mod, but I've got one question. I'm curious about the difference between "upper" and "lower" ducts. I may just be missing it somewhere in the description, but I'm wondering why there are two. Do they serve different purposes (i.e., hot vs. cold) or is it more an aesthetic thing? I've bene installing both, but I'd like to know if I have to do so. (And again, I'm sorry if I overlooked some place where the answer is stated in blinking red captial letters or something. Missing that would be just like me).
Falc 1 Oct, 2016 @ 2:58pm
Any chance we could get ducts that aren't visible on the ground?
gergez 23 Sep, 2016 @ 3:01pm
Duct system doesn't work on existing save, even after removing the necessary buildings, just pointing out.
Lilin 23 Sep, 2016 @ 1:00pm
Awesome! Thanks!
Morgloz  [author] 23 Sep, 2016 @ 12:19pm
Yup, I'm working on it as we speak.
Lilin 23 Sep, 2016 @ 12:12pm
The duct system is the fun part though. Can you please fix it so that it's actually working correctly?
