is there a way to disable this? bcs i cant seem to turn it off even when i disabling it on the data files menu
John Telekom 14 Aug, 2023 @ 12:31pm
@dionikx im fine with caves being dark, but when I have to run around my own home, that has chandeliers everywhere, with a torch, just so I can see anything, it does get a bit annoying :/
steve.gray 10 Apr, 2023 @ 12:19am
dionik is right even at the lowest brightness setting everything is brighter than the sun
Unquestioning Soyim Altruist 23 Dec, 2022 @ 5:43pm
It's mostly that in-doors are being too dark.
dionikx 18 Aug, 2022 @ 11:21pm
It's great. People that say it's too dark don't understand that it's sometimes dark in a cave. Sad. Many such cases.
AyeItsMike 16 Jan, 2022 @ 10:15pm
Too dark, wouldn't recommend
jss1138 2 Oct, 2021 @ 9:10am
I'm subscribed, but it's just not downloading. The mod doesn't show up in Data Files, despite being confirmed as downloaded as the list reads off.

What gives?
GenDemo 28 Aug, 2021 @ 7:08am
Cant recommend unfortunately. Its extremely realistic, but its way to dark.
Serec 20 Aug, 2021 @ 8:54pm
@Knights of The Realm

What worked for me is not unsubscribing but simply unticking the mod in the Data Files selection when starting the game.
zhalie 21 Mar, 2021 @ 1:35pm
It's pretty, but too dark :C
Shoyruu 18 Mar, 2021 @ 11:29pm
cool but very dark in the cave
KeeL 13 Dec, 2020 @ 7:21pm
Is there an uninstall guide? unsubbing and deleting from load order doesnt seem to work.
KeeL 13 Dec, 2020 @ 7:08pm
Anyone else have it be just pitch black near riften but fine everywhere else?
Avion_Prime 5 Oct, 2020 @ 10:13am
Could not recommend, staircases are completely black.
lego ninjago 8 Jun, 2020 @ 4:29pm
Just use a torch lol
5 Jun, 2020 @ 8:45am
too dark! no thanks!
BallaNar 9 Mar, 2020 @ 7:38am

pyxell 21 Dec, 2019 @ 7:13pm
overall great but way too dark in some dungeons and other areas, i had to take it off but it looks great.
sirojajp 22 Oct, 2019 @ 4:28am
what's the name of this song?
Axilian 9 May, 2019 @ 9:28am
To people talking about how it is too dark in games, do torches work?
5 Shilling 10 Mar, 2019 @ 9:16am
Looks great, but inhabited interiors (ie buildings) are very dark indeed with patches of pitch black, which makes playing the game less realistic (homes would not be this dark).
Lemming of the BDA 27 Jan, 2019 @ 5:07am
Does this need and/or cover DLC areas?
..:corrosion.| 23 Sep, 2018 @ 7:40am
The f%kin best lighting mod for hardcore experience, you now need torches or night vision so they finally give benefits instead of being useless
Syr Bercylak 19 Sep, 2018 @ 6:03am
superb
Sorata 20 Jul, 2018 @ 10:07am
Had to remove, some places were way too dark and I had lighting bugs.
CHΞF PAPI 4 Jul, 2018 @ 11:00am
too dark in some caves
haein 26 May, 2018 @ 12:34pm
i can't see shit
ZailonX 4 Jan, 2018 @ 6:00pm
my frame rate is usually a steady 50-60 fps but this mod drops that by at least 5 fps. Some dungeons have areas that are now completely black due to lack of light sources (an unintended consequence Im sure) and the game now crashes occasionally when large amounts of flames are rendered such as flame spells or fire dragons. I really do applaud the intentions of this mod but it just causes too many issues to be usable. Maybe its just my setup but Ive had zero issues up until installing this particular one.

The lighting *is* more realistic. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this creates more work in some situations. You must provide light when it is dim. You must have torch or latern or magic or whatever to deal with that situation. In my opnion, this adds even more RPG dimension to the game. That being said, it is your choice realism vs. easy play. If you opt for realism, this mod is awesome.
Spud 16 Dec, 2017 @ 9:01pm
@kurtcop is this compatable with surreal lighting?
sUwUcide 7 Dec, 2017 @ 11:06pm
this mod make exterior lighting looks great but inside....u cant see anything even if you use a torch it is still hard to see
Meri 10 Oct, 2017 @ 6:23pm
This seems to have broken for me. Light sources are seriously dampened to the point where it's almost pitch black downstairs in Proudspire Manor in Solitude (player house). Something I'm missing?
RavaZa 1 Oct, 2017 @ 11:57am
Hi, is this compactible with climates of tamriel?
LxG_Pyro 19 Sep, 2017 @ 10:00am
Links for customization are all down, and as everyone says, its too dark in dungeons (I know it's a REALISTIC mod, but I don't want to switch between weapon/light source for each ennemy I encounter), so can you refresh them ?
Thank you :happymeat:
Wayfall 18 Aug, 2017 @ 3:45pm
Hi, i have tried this mod out and i keep getting a weird bug when i walk near a light source and it then suddenly goes brighter instantly? Any fix for this? Its really rather annoying. I love the mod but just which this would stop....
Cooldog 1 Aug, 2017 @ 1:03pm
Honestly this ruins SO many dungeons, especially Falbtharz in the Dragonborn DLC, It's mostly a huge room with rotating towers.
GATman Gaming Channel 31 Jul, 2017 @ 5:25am
Ruins lighting in dungeons!
SonovaClaus 13 Jul, 2017 @ 9:33pm
Found some candles and torches inside of Fort Dawngaurd that aren't emiting any light. Other than that great mod.
Ilheranson 19 Jun, 2017 @ 8:48am
So is this compatible with the mod that removes interior fog?
bearfromdiscord 8 May, 2017 @ 11:47am
@gavinderjeet aw fuck i wished to die. am i immortal now then? :/
heavydutyphilosopher 14 Feb, 2017 @ 10:22am
noice
pauldrye 11 Feb, 2017 @ 12:01pm
Like this a lot, but don't take it unless you are willing to cast a Candlelight spell a bunch of times as you explore dungeons, tombs, and whatnot -- most are too dark to see in, at least in places.
Little Soul 29 Dec, 2016 @ 5:34am
This MOD is realistic, but it is too realistic.it is too dark indoor
carlo 24 Dec, 2016 @ 10:51pm
your title didn't disappoint. really makes dungeoning and night-time travels realistic as fuq. i love it, great job! although noon time might be too bright but yeah overall it's a must have
bobj1168 22 Dec, 2016 @ 4:45pm
Does this interfere with the "surreal lighting" mod in any way?
𒉭 22 Dec, 2016 @ 8:50am
really really really really REALLY immersive xD
a bit too much ^^'
the dark is too realistic
pizzanice1 14 Dec, 2016 @ 12:04am
Really great for immersion. Creates contrast between light and dark, especially at night, just like in reality. Without this mod, skyrim is pretty washed out and there's not a huge difference between night and day.
Ephemeral Fetus 7 Dec, 2016 @ 11:30pm
great mod but its too dark in dungeons and outside at night.
RedPanda 28 Nov, 2016 @ 11:40am
Does this mod work with Climates of Tamriel? Please say yes :O
Donoghu 12 Nov, 2016 @ 12:14pm
I have been using this mod for a while and it's really good for immersion as areas such as dungeon looks grim and dark for once. Really good!

There's one kind of area which suffers greatly from this mod though.
Areas which originally had more lights and were meant to be "magically lite" are now dark and gloomy. For example, the Eldergleam Sanctuary become too close to pitch black where you mostly need a spell or a torch or an ability to see where you are going while, originally, it was lite and magically beautifull.
