What gives?
What worked for me is not unsubscribing but simply unticking the mod in the Data Files selection when starting the game.

the dark is too realistic
There's one kind of area which suffers greatly from this mod though.
Areas which originally had more lights and were meant to be "magically lite" are now dark and gloomy. For example, the Eldergleam Sanctuary become too close to pitch black where you mostly need a spell or a torch or an ability to see where you are going while, originally, it was lite and magically beautifull.
