I hope to find more UK steam routes like this in the workshop, because this is a golden masterpiece. Fantastic job 100/100

Hi brando451. Apologies. The route has been final for some time. Feel free to edit it if you wish. I won't be doing any more work on it.
brando451 15 Sep, 2017 @ 10:17am
Hi. There's a bug at Durham where you can't route trains coming from Newcastle though the loop. So I can't have a goods train waiting in the loop for an express to pass.
Roger T 12 Dec, 2016 @ 4:26pm
many thanks
JLD95 10 Nov, 2016 @ 6:34am
Thank you for this great route

Hi. Feel free to make some! I've not played the game for a while due to constant dumps and crashes....I have got a few scenarios in the pipeline but the game is just too flakey and frustrating to create for. Gone back to playing Elite which I first played in 1985 on the Amiga. Rock solid!
jackct1806 6 Nov, 2016 @ 8:03am
Will there be any Sanareos for this route? because its a Really Fantastic route to traval on.
PNB  [author] 30 Oct, 2016 @ 12:35am
Thanks for pointing them out. The route is final now so will have to fix on a possible new version.
brando451 29 Oct, 2016 @ 11:55pm
Hi I thought you should know there are some stray points in Darlington on the near the up/down loop.
ash 14 Oct, 2016 @ 5:02pm
Great route for steamers, well done. Thanks for sharing.
PNB  [author] 10 Oct, 2016 @ 1:39am
Hi.Thanks for your comments. I did the QD to test the signals and just uploaded what I had.
I have got some scenarios in the pipeline but after spending a few months on the route I've gone back to driving trains for relaxtion for a while. Bit burned out!
brando451 10 Oct, 2016 @ 12:07am
Hi I not to long ago added this lovely route of yours and it's a blast to run. I have a few questions to ask 1. I can't seen to find a QD from York station to Newcastle station it's only ever outside of one or the other and the same applys to goods out of Tyne Yard or York Yard. 2. Could you make some senarios to drive on the route? Like taking the Flyng Scotsman out of York as far as Newcastle or goods between the yards? 3. When I try to run a good in QD usinf the slow line I'm always routed up the fast line.

All signs complete. Added missing permanent speed restriction warning boards and minor edits. Hoping to make final later today.
TomC_Overshoe 28 Sep, 2016 @ 2:56pm
Did a Southbound run with no problems at all (if you don't count 7 speeding tickets.)
PNB  [author] 28 Sep, 2016 @ 12:29pm
Might try running an AI train in advance of the player train through 8 and out to the Heaton portal. Hi
PNB  [author] 28 Sep, 2016 @ 12:25pm
Ah well. Maybe things will turn out ok when "proper" scenarios are produced.
TomC_Overshoe 28 Sep, 2016 @ 12:07pm
I was using your quick drive. The funny thing is, despite the red, the track is clear into platform 8, but requests to pass are denied and it will say in the debrief that it was a SPAD. It complements my 19 speeding tickets :)
TomC_Overshoe 28 Sep, 2016 @ 12:04pm
Overall I don't see any deal-breakers. For me, its a keeper. Random weirdness occurs in most routes. I really need to adjust the cab view for the LNER locos. Maybe I'll dig up a Deltic for the Southbound.
PNB  [author] 28 Sep, 2016 @ 11:55am
Strange. My trip was fine. Posted pic of Newcastle approach. Are you in free roam? Perhaps a pair of points need changing. Thanks for putting your time into testing!
TomC_Overshoe 28 Sep, 2016 @ 11:47am
The only thing that seems constant is the SPAD just before the platform at Newcastle. I flew right threough the place where penalty brakes were applied yesterday and got an AWS warning today at a place I passed with no problem yesterday. I'll try Southbound later.
PNB  [author] 28 Sep, 2016 @ 11:37am
Hi Tom. Had a drive this afternoon. No problems throughout. Added some warning boards for permanent speed restrictions. No point in interim update. Will do a final one this weekend.
TomC_Overshoe 28 Sep, 2016 @ 11:03am
Weird today. Trying one last Northbound, Got a double yellow with AWS alarm at 54.65302 x -1.50202 I did not get that yesterday. Still northbound...
TomC_Overshoe 27 Sep, 2016 @ 4:01pm
Modern signal at 15.4 mark Saw the Temp SL signs this time. Modern signal at the viaduct just North of Chester Le Street. The SPAD is at the last signal before Newcastle 8. The whole tree was red with one yellow. Tabbed but was denied. I'll try Southbound tomorrow if all goes well.
PNB  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 3:53pm
Hi Tom. Will drive over it tomorrow. Had a quick look in the editor and all seems ok. Your brake applied at the distant for Bradbury which is fitted with AWS. Never had a problem there before. I wonder if anyone else has? The colour light is an outer distant, one I've used one in a couple of places.
PNB  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 3:27pm
Thanks Tom.Will check it out tomorrow.
TomC_Overshoe 27 Sep, 2016 @ 3:17pm
27.2 miles South of Newcastle, 54.62639 x -1.50987 there is a semaphore signal showing green. When I passed it penalty brakes popped on. There is a ramp before the signal but I didn't get an alarm and I was well below the speed posted.. It did not register as a SPAD

Modern signal near the 25.4 South of Newcastle mark

Still crawling North.
TomC_Overshoe 27 Sep, 2016 @ 1:06pm
I missed the warning board. I'll do a run with an AWS eqipped loco and see if I can spot where it was. No problem with thiose small yards. I'll drop a shunter and a few wagons in for decoration.
PNB  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 12:32pm
Hi Tom. There's a broken rail on the viaduct just before Durham. Don't know how it happened but my track laying skills are not great so I've left it in and put a 20mph Temporary Speed Restriction in place. There's a warning board about a mile in advance, but no AWS as this didn't feature with TSR's at the time. I've not had a SPAD northbound for some time. Will take another look before making the route final. It's only then that I(and anyone else can produce scenarios with AI). I've left the yards unconnected, not sure if they were in 1962, but I was happy with what I had!
TomC_Overshoe 27 Sep, 2016 @ 12:14pm
I just ran a York to Newcastle with the Black 5. The only problems I found were a sudden and unexpected 20 mph speed limit in Durham. I also had one SPAD but I have no idea where thanks to no alarm in the Black 5. I didn't see a red anywhere.

The signs look great. In fact the whole route looks great. It needs statics and traffic to bring it to life though.

South of Tyne Yard and East of the tracks there are 2 small "yards" that are not connected to the line. Were those in use during your time period? Even if they are not connected I can place rolling stock as if they were.

Great job so far. I'm looking forward to the final.

Final tweaks to signals. Added QD to Ferryhill South bay and Darlington 2. Fixed clocks at Newcastle. 75% of signs done. Hope to make final in next couple of days......
TomC_Overshoe 26 Sep, 2016 @ 9:49am
Excellent work. I'll try to get in a run today.

26/09/16
Fixed signal at Ferryhill South junction up main.
PNB  [author] 25 Sep, 2016 @ 8:54am
25/09/16
Modified line speed on the up at Chester-Le-Street between section signal and Intermediate block signal. Fixed signal on the up at Tursdale House Farm crossing.. Added NER signs as far as C-L-S.
PNB  [author] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 9:29am
Good stuff. Thought I'd cured any rogue signals, but you never know.....there's a cheeky ground signal near the end of platform 8 at Newcastle which maybe caught you out, and a broken rail on the down just before Durham, causing a 20mph TSR.
TomC_Overshoe 24 Sep, 2016 @ 8:19am
Second run finished. I love the signal boxes. Found plenty of water and a couple phantom red lights I guess. Had 2 SPADs and Penalty brakes but didn't see a signal. I'll try to pinpoint those and could well be my poor eyes. Speeding 11 times... I'll blame Blue Peter. I had to play this as I ran into Newcastle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVuYd_uzGYA
TomC_Overshoe 24 Sep, 2016 @ 7:20am
Thanks. I've downloaded the signs. Now to find all my LNER locos...
PNB  [author] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 6:47am
24/09/16
Added water on the up slow at Thirsk and Tollerton, and both ways at Ferryhill.
Implemented station signs as far as Ferryhill.
Signs available from - http://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/other-route-assets
TomC_Overshoe 23 Sep, 2016 @ 2:30pm
That should be plenty. I have only had one run and missed seeing the water at Chester-Le_Street. I'll see more of the route over the weekend.
