I noticed that the surface on the top can give various speeds (it's slippery) and needed the perfect speed to jump down.
Polux  [author] 18 Dec, 2020 @ 6:18am
Well, I don't know how you managed to jump on the final light bridge, probably with a bit of luck. I tried several times without succeeding, it depends on how you jump to the angled panel I guess. So I will not try to fix it.
Anyway the intended solution is way more different, less simple.
GraveNoX 17 Dec, 2020 @ 1:55pm
Yeah, my retinitis pigmentosa is holding me back. Also you made the map to look so complex like there is way too much to it, but the solution was very simple, to the point I'm not even consider it a puzzle (referring to second room).
Polux  [author] 17 Dec, 2020 @ 1:21pm
I confirm what you said, you are so bad. ;p
You have even broke the second puzzle lmao, did you really think it was intended?
Well played, thanks for the video.
GraveNoX 16 Dec, 2020 @ 2:42pm
I don't know how it took me 50 frickin minutes, I'm so bad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2S9THg1bzc

Mikeastro - I was not offended at all, just a bit disappointed I guess. You can dislike it of course, I can understand. You can also change your mind if you consider the puzzle more seriously but I can admit that it is not what we can call a 'common map'. Maybe it wasn't 'the good day' for you, no problem.
Thanks for your reply.
Mikeastro 3 Dec, 2019 @ 11:03am
Yeah I think I'm going to try another stream again soon but I indeed intend to stay away from the very difficult maps
Nobody No-One 3 Dec, 2019 @ 10:58am
imo most maps beyond a certain difficulty are better enjoyed on your own
Mikeastro 3 Dec, 2019 @ 10:57am
@Polux Randomly got here and I quickly want to say that during the stream, the map seemed too intimidatingly huge to play, especially after getting stuck on the first room for a while and not really being a big fan of the key move. I still have it in my queue, though, and I will get back to it some day. I just feel like I could better enjoy this map on my own, and not during a stream. I hope you understand and hopefully I didn't offend you :|
jandlml 1 Jul, 2019 @ 1:18pm
hey polux nice to see you on the comment board
Polux  [author] 1 Jul, 2019 @ 6:26am
Just watched the quick Mikeastro's stream. Well, I would have loved to play this map if it wasn't mine. This is obviously not the case for everyone :D
I'm happy to see that you liked the second room because I wasn't entirely satisfied. Too confusing and crazy imo.
On the other hand, the first room is more simple and therefore much more interesting, I guess.
Thanks for your comment. Yours as well jandlml!
Nobody No-One 4 Sep, 2018 @ 10:25am
Very nice. I wasn't expecting there to be a second room, but I'm glad there was since I really like the second area. The bridge orientation mechanics were very neat. It is indeed "not extremely hard" but it's not that easy either – maybe 5-6/10 difficulty I think. I like the symmetrical design as well. Big thumbs up.
jandlml 12 Mar, 2017 @ 4:28pm
finally finished this map. couldnt have done it without the walkthru. i cant believe i did it with the walkthru.im just not good at that kind of stuff. but great map if you are
Cowboy 4 Nov, 2016 @ 10:48am
nice map
Polux  [author] 13 Oct, 2016 @ 3:28am
@Spaceminnow - Sorry I forgot you, but what do you mean?
The left number is for the height between the floor and the bloc ;
the number on the right is for the height between the the bloc and the ceiling.
Of course! You simply need to find the good height to fling yourself on the bridge .....
@dire - Thank you :)
dire.fcs 12 Oct, 2016 @ 10:54pm
Nice work with the flings, very clever; i had to see the first part to get height :steamfacepalm:, but in the final part i found the intended move myself; very good designed map.
Spaceminnow 9 Oct, 2016 @ 5:56pm
Polux? It looks like I may need to bounce of the ceiling toward the light bridge or is it a soft landing? I don't understand the numbers...is it order of use?
Polux  [author] 3 Oct, 2016 @ 2:55pm
I was hoping you would post a comment ^^
A million years?! -gloups-
Yeah, I don't think it's a hard puzzle but for sure it is not an easy one.
Talisac (betatester) spent more time in the first than the second room hehe.
I'm very fast in the video by successfully executing all the moves but obviously you have 'time' in order to adjust your portals. Anyway, I totally understand if it was not a time of pleasure.
Thank you for your nice comment :)
Jade BGE 3 Oct, 2016 @ 1:43pm
I was hoping you would post a video.
Got through this partially but not in a million years could I finish this. It's most beautiful for sure and super hard for the average player or those without quick and accurate Portalflexes. Love all the special details. Perpetually awesome! Thank you :)
Polux  [author] 30 Sep, 2016 @ 10:40am
@jgaultney - LOL, only a real 'n-word' can manage to do what you tried...
as much to say that you hadn't any chance, haha :p
Glad you liked how I designed the map.

@quatrus - The first room is not there for show!
Thanks for playing.
quatrus 30 Sep, 2016 @ 7:40am
Thanks for the walkthrough, missed the bang my head on the reversed bridge to limit height before fling .. Ah well never tried that ... thanks for creating this very challenging puzzle.
jgaultney 30 Sep, 2016 @ 7:35am
Well, I had to take a peek at your video, up to the 1:40 mark. :(( I was stuck because
I kept trying to get into that glass-lined hallway, at the top of the map, from the
wrong end!! :steamfacepalm: I'm not sure I would have ever thought of that double loop
fling to gain the initial height. :steammocking:

A great puzzle and fantastic visuals. (See, I never used the n-word even once!)
Polux  [author] 30 Sep, 2016 @ 2:55am
Updated, you shouldn't be able to do the same thing.
Thanks!
nock 29 Sep, 2016 @ 4:07pm
Well that was a lot easier than the way I did it. Good work Polux
nock 29 Sep, 2016 @ 4:02pm
Seriously Fatso . . . . is it national hate on me day? I was only noclipping to get back to the glass panel area to save time. I waste using no clip to cheat.

Polux I'll check the walkthrough. What I meant was portal in the middle area and then jumped from glass into angled panel. This allowed me to stand on the grate to rotate the portal so the next time I jumped from glass to angle it flung me over the gap to the Lightbridge side

If that's still not clear, the vod is on my twitch channel from todays first stream
Polux  [author] 29 Sep, 2016 @ 12:45pm
Ok walkthrough added :p2cube:
quatrus 29 Sep, 2016 @ 10:55am
AArgh I just can't quite get any fling I know of to work --> after getting a bridge up over the fat turret...so frustrated. Hope someone publishes a hint.... great puzzle.
Fatso 29 Sep, 2016 @ 10:04am
Look like someone needs to cheat to solve a map. NoClip is for small minded people!!!
Polux  [author] 29 Sep, 2016 @ 6:50am
... what do you mean? Turn around the portal while standing on the grating?
nock 29 Sep, 2016 @ 6:11am
Well you've gone and done it again. Awesome map once me and my stream chat threw some ideas around. The only thing which we weren't sure about was using the grating to turn the portal around in the upper central area - but other than that I'm glad I utilize F6 and NoClip to get around the map :)
Polux  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 3:31am
Ok, fixed ;)
Polux  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 12:58am
Hm, obviously not intended. I don't know if I can fix that..
Well done, thanks.
Fatso 26 Sep, 2016 @ 11:34pm
Here is the way I solved it not sure if it is intended click here
Fatso 26 Sep, 2016 @ 10:20pm
Have not played portal in a long time, will say I had fun solving this jump puzzle nice job Polux.
Polux  [author] 26 Sep, 2016 @ 2:41pm
You're almost there!
quatrus 26 Sep, 2016 @ 10:12am
Aargh - need that metal helmet. Bounced up and across the fizzler area and eventually got a bridge up across above the fat turret - must be close to the final fling to the exit wc bridge....
quatrus 26 Sep, 2016 @ 8:05am
The first was relatively easy after a few falls - you had numbers which helped...the second: I'll give it another go .... :)
Polux  [author] 26 Sep, 2016 @ 6:19am
^^
dcook 26 Sep, 2016 @ 6:18am
A solid helmet wouold probably have helped... owwwww :-)
Polux  [author] 26 Sep, 2016 @ 6:15am
Hey, I am happy to hear that because you are the first to solve the test without my help.
Well done.
dcook 26 Sep, 2016 @ 6:09am
Nice map... Maybe it's just me, but I thought this was much easier than most of your other maps. :-) ..or maybe I'm just getting used to your mapping. :-)
Polux  [author] 25 Sep, 2016 @ 1:55am
...and to Enigmatic! lol The puzzle should be very solid now :)
Polux  [author] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 2:02pm
I hope you did the right move in the first room...
quatrus 24 Sep, 2016 @ 1:21pm
Can't quite get the fling in the 2nd chamber - too far or too short. no more tricks in my bag so I have to yield.... Nice map.
Polux  [author] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 1:15pm
...and to jgaultney! ;)
Polux  [author] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 9:58am
The map is now updated, preventing an unintended move. Thanks to Almisuifre.
Polux  [author] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 8:15am
Oh, oui en effet. Bien vu.
