For all comments past and future, the mod does not say it prevents dissimilar cultures from spawning close to each other. That would be impossible, and was not the point anyway. As Baldur93 says below, it worked for him for all but one civ/cs. All... but.... one. For most people, especially in the context of free mods made by fellow gamers that choose to solve their own problems instead of whining in comment sections, that means the mod IS working. Not that it "doesn't work." That is an extremely selfish and unrealistic way to think.

This mod is still listed as compatible out of the box with Vox Populi (the penultimate community patch and expansion) and Gaedoeon himself recently said it still works. Thousands of people have used this mod w/o issue, and there's only a few dozen unhelpful comments from people who expect everything to plug and play. That should indicate to you, reader, that it does in fact still work.

Doesnt work... I restarted game around 30 times, and stil without normal start location. EVEN WHEN all nations where ther should be, there is always 1 nation in wrong place. PLS FIX.

It sort of half works to be honest. It's a great idea but for two games in a row I've played as England with the Ottomans as my neighbour, then the Indonesians and the Zulus. the furthest civilizations seem to be other European ones such as the French, German and Portuguese, but these often are neighborus with the Aztecs. Please fix.

Cool, mod. I always thought it was stupid has civ's would be placed randomly amongst each other around the map. The developers should have had an option to have this since the beginning. Any chance you could also do something like this with resources? Like, China starts with silk as their primary resouce, Siam starts with Ivory, Iroqois start with furs, Egypt starts with gold, etc. So that each civ has the actual resource/s that they're known for having in real life. I think that would be awesome too.

I saved a game with this mod, after a while I upgraded the mod to V.4 and my current game doesnt download since it doesnt have the required mod "Culturally linked start locations V.3"

ok, so i held shift while the game booted and now it's showing up in my mods list. i saw this on a forum about clearing the chache. it seems to have worked, but i double checked the cache folder and it doesn't appear to have been emptied. ?. oh well, it works.

It doesn't seem to work with BNW. Whenever I play as Indonesia the game ends and says I was defeated on the first turn.

the start bias issue can be somewhat averted by using the mod which gives the starting settler 10 movement.

A bloody wonderful mod crippled by the lack of start bias. Certain civs are now at high risk of severe disadvantage due to terrain-specific units and abilities. Has potential, but not in its current form.

Great mod, the idea of randomly generated maps with random civilizations initially discouraged me from purchasing this game. Now I can use the real world map mod and use this as well
