The only difference is that it can be turned off? Is it that you can pick it up and put it down again? Can't even change the temperature with it?

Is this mod still working?
psina 25 Oct, 2020 @ 7:28pm
Спасибо!
Мод на выжженной земле работает отлично!

You just place the ac unit down and have a power source connected to it. It does the rest.
fpk100 22 May, 2020 @ 9:26am
how do i change it from cold to hot?
RedStone 22 Aug, 2017 @ 5:38pm

Im having issues Placing it down. No matter where I try to place it, it is always green but will not place. I've tried to place on Foundation, Ceiling, and plain ground... am I missing something?

@The Brown Weiner- Can you please fix the noise. Thanks man! Great little mod!
Jace  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 4:48pm
Yes if you are using a total metal structure, so you will have to use 4 units to overcome the huge negative effect. Where as stone you could get by with 3, wood 2 and adobe 1.

So, ya its working correctly. (Other than the noise)

And you are correct about adobe pieces, you can sometimes place (kinda glitchy) adobe railings along/inside the walls and it will also boost your ratings.

Timewhisper 27 Oct, 2016 @ 4:28pm
Upon further experimentation I found this:

In a metal structure of 2x2x2 hyperthermal (no armor) value is: -2643.
By turning one HVAC: -1828
two HVAC: -1005
trhee HVAC: -189
four HVAC: 630

So it does affect the stats as supposed. given the 800-ish difference between the uses of units. I have also foud that proximity to non adobe structures (railings in this case) seem to affect hypherthermal insulation value, it might be that it takes form it or nullifies other modifiers, I'm not certain.
Jace  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 1:29pm
When you are taking damage, what is your hyper and hypo thermal numbers. It possible maybe they raised the requirements not to take damage. If thats the case I can adjust the strength of the buff. Which would be a really quick fix.
Jace  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 1:27pm
If the numbers go up, then the mod is working as intended (other than the noise I need to fix), maybe the changed (or broke) something. What the mod does effectively is buff your hyperthermal and hypothermal rate. If they changed the mechanic how that works (or broke) it, than thats not how it use to work. From my testing when your hperthermal rating was over 500, then heat waves did little to no damage to you.

Due to some real life commitments I have taken about a 2 week break from ARK, last time I played everything was working fine. If its not i guess the question is was this intentional change or a bug in ARK. (Both are entirely possible)
Timewhisper 27 Oct, 2016 @ 10:08am
Both hyper and hypothermal do go up, however still I get overheated and lose health.

I've made a test on a structure using vanilla metal 2x1 foundation by 2 tall, with 2 HVAC, one on each frame. It resulted in some spots being hot (but safe) and others being too hot, given that the range is meant to be large that seems odd.

Thanks for your response.
Jace  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 7:58am
Just a note a single unit only raises your stats 820ish, depending on your structure you may need more than one, for example if you are using metal.
Jace  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 7:53am
@timewhisper If your hyper and hypo thermal numbers aren't going up significantly when anywhere near the unit, then a recent patch must have broke it.
I'll try to take a look at it today and see what they did.
Timewhisper 27 Oct, 2016 @ 1:00am
I'm really exited about this project, however it doesn't seems to be working in SE for me, it does affect the stats but I still get overheated even while standing by the HVAC. Is this something related to the recent updates?

Thanks a lot for sharing.

Thanks. I would love it if they were quiet. That's why I downloaded it too :)
Jace  [author] 19 Oct, 2016 @ 5:46pm
@BaconOverlord Just checked it, damn you are right. The must have changed something in one of the last couple patches (I admit I havent played ARK in about 7-10 days). The no noise was one of my main reasons for maiking the mod in the first place.

I'll have to see what they changed, and hopefully I can silence that damn noise.

Thanks, sorry for doubting you. :)
It might take a few days till I can update it, as I have a lot going on at the moment. But hopefully it's a quick and easy fix.

Thanks BaconOverlord.

I did. It's called "Central HVAC" and has the option to pick it back up from the ground or toggle it off. I have several down and they are loud.
Jace  [author] 19 Oct, 2016 @ 9:38am
@BaconOverlord You need crafing the item named "Central HVAC" which is my mod. Its 100% silent, because I stripped all references to sound out. Not crafting regular air conditioners as those stay vanilla and are not modified at all. My mod has 0 sound references, so its impossible for it to make any sound.
Bacon Overlord® 19 Oct, 2016 @ 7:23am
These aren't quiet, FYI. THey run just as loud as the normal Air Conditioner.
Jace  [author] 1 Oct, 2016 @ 7:45am
Also yes the mod was actually made with SE in mind, however it works on all maps just fine.
Jace  [author] 1 Oct, 2016 @ 7:40am
It works about 8 foundations in every direction from the center of the unit in the dev kit there is only a numerical value which for the default AC for effect area is 1000 on mine it is 8000
Noxsa 1 Oct, 2016 @ 4:15am
better question, 8+ foundations from the unit 8 left of it and 8 to the right, or you mean 8 foundations and it sits in the middle then its 4 left or right and 3, 1 for the unit it self!
Noxsa 1 Oct, 2016 @ 4:12am
@Z0n!x qoute from the mod description ** Perfect way to beat the desert heat for those whom want to use alternaitve building materials such as glass, stone , metal. **

so i would assume it works on SE, did you not read the mod info maybe?
yaboiaj 1 Oct, 2016 @ 4:12am
cost?
Boonai 1 Oct, 2016 @ 12:41am
does it works on scorched earth?:steammocking:
Pwnographer 30 Sep, 2016 @ 7:14pm
Thank you for this, with one I still have hot spots in the base 9x6 floor space. Looks like I need 4...
Jace  [author] 30 Sep, 2016 @ 6:36pm
Providing you have power it should.
Father 30 Sep, 2016 @ 6:32pm
will this work on platforms and rafts?
Father 30 Sep, 2016 @ 9:09am
awesome job
Jace  [author] 30 Sep, 2016 @ 6:23am
No it will work on alll maps, not just SE. I created it with SE in mind, but it will work on any.
rommel64 30 Sep, 2016 @ 5:24am
if this for SE only ?
ZODMAN 30 Sep, 2016 @ 3:22am
Congrats and thank you for making this!
