Oh never mind I forgot a major move that nullifies need for funnel-climbing.

I like it, although you forgot trigger_hurt in the pool of goo in front of the first room Exit and you just white out the floor in an angle in room #2. Did you design funnel-climbing exploit as part of solution?

Not a bad start, to be sure. :)

There are some really silly things that I tried to do with gel, and they mostly did not work out. 🙃
Ah, well.

The intended solution was fun.

I first played this map somewhere in 2015 and I still remember it.

Fun and not too easy! An excellent map.

This map was pretty good. There could have been chamber space optimizations. For one, you could have done without the hallway that seems like it was designated for the orange gel because there are portal surfaces that allow you to cross the gap with the excursion funnel. The ramp pictured has white space underneath it (some sort of Hammer mistake or I am missing an asset). Also, the blue gel button, I can get up there without the excursion funnel.

A very good map, elements were hard but they flowed logically, it was enjoyable to play!

Great work! I had the same idea in one map about the cube being painted during the jump.

Oh, and very sneaky where you hid the propulsion gel runway. Had me stumped for a while!

Excellent map! Fantasic variety of elements and a wonderful environment! I noticed that in the second chamber near the light bridge I could jump in the water and not be killed. I could swim around and even look at the bottom. However, I could not jump out high enough to reach the bank so I had to "F7" my game. No big deal. Thanks a lot for alll your maps.

I noticed the player could get stranded in a couple of places in the first test by using the excursion funnel. Other than that, the tests are excellent. I had no problem with solving the second test.

Esthetically, the lighting could be better. If it's too bright or there's too much light, there can be some undesired lag on lower-end computers.

Great map though I must admit I needed video help.

That's...um...a REALLY long name, even if I were to abreviate it (TFTCIEPWHAIWDMML4D2) it's still rather long, I think I'll stick with this name. I'm glad you liked the map though, people like this map is really more important to me than people liking the other 13 or 14 maps I've made in the past.

Lol... that's an interesting history for your name :)

A nicer name for your test chamber (honestly I'm very proud of it) would be:

The First Test Chamber I Ever Published With Hammer After I Was Done Making Maps for Left 4 Dead 2.

Lol, it's where my my map making (for lack of a better word) journey began. This was my first map I ever released for anything and it's the first real map making achievement I had ever accomplished since I was using Hammer for about a year before I released it, yet never released anything else. (I was trying to make maps for L4D2 before Portal 2 came out)

Also, lol, my "weird username" comes from a Yu-Gi-Oh card that I used to like a lot. See: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Crystal_Beast_Ruby_Carbuncle It was one of my favorites back in the day! :)

Where what began? The name of the title? Paradoxes? RubyCarbuncle's wierd user name?

Thanks for the reviews everyone. I'll take up your suggestions to make the map better. :D

Great map, one of the greatest I ever played.
Moth 23 Jun, 2012 @ 12:49am
Very good map, aesthetically speaking and in terms of the challenge. One thing however, the music in the last chamber can be a bit annoying if it takes you longer than a couple minutes to solve. My idea would be to keep the music in there, but only for 30 seconds or so then tone it down a bit. Aside from that, amazing detail and amazing chamber, good job.

Always liked this map - played it once before - nice to play it again. Looked great and played wonderfully. Thanks for making!
Rubycario  [author] 21 Jun, 2012 @ 12:14pm
Thanks for the feedback! :) In this map I've left a few options open to the player (that one is mainly just there because I don't see how I can fix it, but like in the first map you can use the funnel or bridge to get to that one button. I like giving the player choices in my maps. I'm glad you liked it! :)
Mr.Bob806 21 Jun, 2012 @ 12:11pm
Quite a good map. I liked it. I'm not entirely sure I got the orange gel "runway" set up the right way in the second part ( I couldn't figure out a good long stretch leading up to a portal where the gell could cover all the way up to the portal, so I just used portals do run down the ramp and back up without stopping ) and that was my only problem I'm not sure I properly overcame. Again, very good. very well done visually as well as puzzle-ly =D
simonportal 19 Jun, 2012 @ 6:25pm
one of the best maps
+ stunning visuals
+ 2 puzzles in one map..1st one easy , 2nd medium/hard

skunktronix 19 Jun, 2012 @ 10:21am
VERY well done! It actually hurt my brain for a while, and I like it when a puzzle is able to do that. :)
