I did it! I figured it out!. Who said videogames can't teach you anything? (pun intended)

OH!!!!

You can build some stuff around, leave 1 block empty, then put a turret on that 1 block and build more stuff off of it. The actual vehicle is engines and AI and stuff, and then there is a turret inside of it that has the propeller and the cannon connected to it.

I don't think we're on the same page anymore. I'm just trying to figure out how you have two or more objects ocuping the same space. It's bewildering me. There are no vids on Youtube that I can find explaining this mystery to me. What I got from you so far is that it involves turrets.

Profit...?

Make sure its set to main drive and stuff, then it should just act like normal.

I'm sure he did that in order to make building custom jet engines more apealing. GRAHHH! I still don't understand. Step one. place turret. step two. place jet engine on turret? step three???

Actually Nick nerfed the hell out of jet engines so they are stupidly weak, there are just 2 jets on the back but then 90% of the force is actually a 'Dedicated Heliblade Spinner' that is placed on a turret block inside the back.

ok.ok.ok....so you've used turetts to somehow stack 50 or so engines into one space. But I think there is a crucial step I'm missing here.

You can put weapons and certian other types of functional blocks on 2axis/1axis turrets. They can't spin anymore, but then you get free space to put weapons. You can put almost anything on them except for gasoline engines, resource tanks, or ship propellers (but for some reason jet engines and ions are still allowed)

You've done an amazing job. But the method you use is conusing to me. Turreted? I've grasped every aspect of this game from building to combat but this is puzzling me to no end.
Videogames  [author] 8 Oct, 2016 @ 8:37pm
(the little wing blocks look so stupid on a jet fighter like this, so I also used it to just layer over the wings with alloy for a more modern look and to hide thruster ports on the nose)
I try to go out of my way to make my designs both beautiful and effective, usually keeping to a set style.

I use this trick in a much less cheaty way on alot of my ships to put little decorational bits in places the normally shouldn't go.
KillMarks 8 Oct, 2016 @ 8:32pm
hmmmm. No one has ever explained this to me.
Videogames  [author] 8 Oct, 2016 @ 8:30pm
The jet engine and the cannon system are both turreted! duh.

Its like the only way to fit an adv-cannon thats actually any good onto a plane this small because any cannon that doesen't suck ends up being THE SIZE OF THE ENTIRE PLANE
KillMarks 8 Oct, 2016 @ 8:28pm
Any chance you got a short answer to my fisrt coment? Pretty please =)
Videogames  [author] 8 Oct, 2016 @ 8:26pm
Yea the downside of having very fast and very manuverable jet fighters is that you very quickly realize neter's atmoshere is only 3 feet deep. On some of my high altitude planes I put ion engines facing upwards to help push it down if it goes too high.
KillMarks 8 Oct, 2016 @ 8:21pm
Also, I would suggest Ion Thrusters for maneuvering above 500m otherwise it's incredibly difficult to get back down to cruising alt.

You gota tell me how you're stacking blocks inside other blocks. I would love to start building using that method.
