No problem.

Like mentioned, if interested, I have a copy with the changes already mostly done that you're welcome to if you want to use it as a start.
DonCDXX  [author] 2 Nov, 2021 @ 5:57am
Thanks for telling me. I haven't played it much recently so I didn't know there was a problem. I'll be sure to update it soon.
Dumpshock 2 Nov, 2021 @ 4:57am
Hey Doncdxx,

Just wondering if you had any plans to update this to the modern mod format using categories and variants?

It's still functional, but does not show up in the build menu unless you search for it explicitly.

I've updated my own offline variant which already does this if interested.

Does the dampening force scale linearly or quadratically with gravity?
DonCDXX  [author] 15 Jun, 2020 @ 9:50pm
As far as I know, it still works. If you notice any problems, tell me and I'll fix it as soon as possible.
A Ghost 15 Jun, 2020 @ 8:25pm
does this still work?

You, good sir, have made my dreams come true. Tested on small craft and it works wonders, please keep this updated ! Insta-fav'ed !
Crowbot 27 Aug, 2017 @ 1:28pm
Which side is up?
Tsukuyomi Kitsune 14 Aug, 2017 @ 2:30am
i'd have liked to see tiered version and better when you are trying to build say something like a speeder or a heavy tank
MagnusEffect 29 Jul, 2017 @ 1:55am
Looks like you managed to get this updated. Glad to have this. Thank you for your efforts!
Vokun Vulon 26 Feb, 2017 @ 1:33pm
Thats a clever idea :P
Procrasturbator 19 Feb, 2017 @ 8:04pm
it might work better if you make a video for them, then they literally cant not see the problem
Vokun Vulon 19 Feb, 2017 @ 2:31pm
well thats totally shite... well I do hope it gets sorted eventually
DonCDXX  [author] 19 Feb, 2017 @ 12:19pm
@Vokun Vulon I explained to steam support the problem I was having in great detail. A month later they finally responded with a generic message asking for a screenshot that clearly explains the problem. There was no way to make a screenshot for them, since it's more complicated than a screenshot can share, so I wrote back that there's nothing to take a screenshot of and explained my problem in detail again. That was a few weeks ago and still no response from steam.

If they don't help me in the next few weeks, I'll assume steam support staff aren't smart enough to read a block of text and need a picture, so I'll probably end up making a comic strip that explains the problem for them.
Vokun Vulon 19 Feb, 2017 @ 7:18am
how's steams issue doing? still problematic? I've sorta put down SE for the time being due to the lack of multiplayer stability, but I've been checking here every few days almost religiously, we keep joking about whats gonna be first, me finishing this ship or the devs fixing multiplayer :P
Procrasturbator 7 Feb, 2017 @ 5:43pm
yeah, i have noticed it works, though im having trouble remembering how to work the game lol so i kept messing it up.
DonCDXX  [author] 7 Feb, 2017 @ 4:19pm
Almost everything made in dev mode is functioning in stable, so you should have no problem.

Steam hasn't ben letting me upload anything recently. There will be updates for lots of my mods, including this one, once I figure out steam's issue.
Procrasturbator 7 Feb, 2017 @ 3:22pm
Just curious if this works in newer versions... there is a warning when you load up this mod telling you that it was created during/in the developmental version of the game... so if you could either A: figure out how to lose that warning, or maybe if its fairly easy, remake the mod for the new version of the game (assuming that since you basically have all the code and models it would be a fast and easy thing)
Vokun Vulon 28 Jan, 2017 @ 4:45pm
Basically, right about now im not too fussed how it looks or something but could you at least give me a placeholder for a nice powerful impulse thruster, pretty please? for the time being you could always take your large repulsor and stack that up a few times, 3x3 or 3x5 perhaps? Not trying to nag but the more i work on this star trek ship for my crew, the more and more frustrated i get with trying to find the spacing for having hydro thrusters at the back (p.s i dont care for power costs, I can fit all the reactors i need in here XD) but anyway thank you and ill be keeping an eye on your work
DonCDXX  [author] 25 Jan, 2017 @ 10:06am
@Vokun Vulon This thrust type was never intended to be a ship's sole propulsion. I have a few designs that just have a repulsor in each direction and a large ion or large atmospheric, or both on the back.

To use Star Trek as an example. These repulsors wouldn't be like the impulse engines, it would be like the manuevering thrusters. I have thought about making an impulse engine to compliment these, but never decided how I wanted to make them work.

I tried to make the base thrust low and the power cost high on these repulsors so that it felt balanced with the game while filling a different specific role than any other thruster. Since an impulse engine would basically be a flamless replacement for an ion thruster, to balance it would require insane amounts of weight, power consumption, and resource cost to not feel like a cheat item.

I do intend to finish a better model for the repulsors. When I do, I'll give serious thought to adding that 1x1x5 as well as a 3x3x3 block.
Vokun Vulon 25 Jan, 2017 @ 3:29am
by "stackable and usable" i sorta meant ones that actually have a nice thrust power to them, but dont burn the blocks, my only other issue is the size of the larger ones, if you were to make an actual main thrust version of these then the large one would probably not fit well in the naecelle, hence asking for the small ones to stack, but given you say the more there are the laggier it gets, why not instead make a 1x1x5 or something, and have that with say... twice the thrust but minimal dampeners? i dunno, just an idea... My only bother is people dont seem to make long thin thrusters that would suit my requierments, aside from that, these things will be mega useful
DonCDXX  [author] 24 Jan, 2017 @ 9:22am
@Vokun Vulon I didn't originally intend to make the larger repulsor, the single block version was originally the only one I thought of making, then peple could use a lot of them. Upon play testing, I quickly discovered that 10 small thrust is a lot more of a performance impact than 1 large. I was even considering adding one size larger to prevent huge ships from having to chain the large repulsor and making them more laggy.
Vokun Vulon 24 Jan, 2017 @ 8:24am
Allow me to expand on what I mean as re-reading it seems slightly unclear, i want to be able to chain these in a line inside the naecelles of my ship, use that as my main driving force, and use these rupulsors for the the rest of it (possibly throw a few of the powerful ones for other directions too but i want it mostly for just forward thrust)
Vokun Vulon 24 Jan, 2017 @ 7:15am
Direction of placement would be awesome, just an X on the "not so" burning side, I was hoping perhaps you could create something like these but as stackable and more importantly usable thrusters
XV9864 18 Jan, 2017 @ 10:37pm
How to understand where this unit is up front, where the rear?
737✈Garrus 5 Dec, 2016 @ 12:09pm
Does these repulsors come in small grid selection too?
GruntBlender 9 Nov, 2016 @ 2:41am
Great Mod, thanks. Would be nice if you put actual power and thrust figures in the description here.
Keyordub 20 Oct, 2016 @ 3:11pm
The work kinda like immovable rods (albient in one direction). So if you built a ship with a pistion connected to more of these, you could ratchet yourself into space by repeatedly pushing/pulling with that piston...
DeRavi 19 Oct, 2016 @ 8:39pm
what do you meqn it cant go up directly. couldnt i install it at a right angle?
Fureversalty 16 Oct, 2016 @ 11:40am
@thomasT101 I agree! I searched for one but could never find it
CustardCreamTV 15 Oct, 2016 @ 12:10pm
i have been wanting somone to make this for along time!, Finally... it has happened!
tomyironmane 15 Oct, 2016 @ 8:52am
... with a few of these, I could conceivably use ion thrusters to claw my way out of a gravity well. Though rate of clime would suffer. An interesting application would be a sort of "Sail barge" with solar panels as sails.
Zankar 15 Oct, 2016 @ 7:03am
So basicly its a parking brake to mantain altitude? Thats very handy, especially if you rely on the atmospheric mods to keep large ships in the air while moving. Hydrogen consuption is just to high for me in atmo and ruins its use on large ships for me. 50% of the ship has to be tanks and that still burns to fast.
DarkRubberNeck 15 Oct, 2016 @ 2:48am
Sounds like a block usefull as a high powered airbrake ^_^

What does it "repulse" against...?
Hawk Art 14 Oct, 2016 @ 6:21pm
even better hover bases, hover cars, hover cities

YES HOVER TANKS!!!
DonCDXX  [author] 11 Oct, 2016 @ 12:07am
@Trogdorfubar Thanks for the bug report, I'll have a fix soon.
Trogdorfubar 10 Oct, 2016 @ 8:02pm
I should also add that I love the idea and implementation used in this. It will let me do several builds I've wanted to work on but haven't had time.
Trogdorfubar 10 Oct, 2016 @ 7:55pm
Heads up the Heavy repulsor effect is commeing off the model towards one of the sides, when I have the Repulsor port faceing right the block is a forward thruster. The small one works just fine though.
d_valroth 10 Oct, 2016 @ 3:02pm
Interesting block. Fills a unique role.
DonCDXX  [author] 10 Oct, 2016 @ 2:38am
@Gideon A. N. It works without atmosphere and is most effective closest to the ground.
G.A. 10 Oct, 2016 @ 1:04am
Your repulsor works also in an environment without an atmosphere? It works as well in weak gravity?
