A mod already exists for the Cow Mangler 5000, I've linked it in the description.
although I see issues with licensing issues although i wouldnt mind a mod for the Cowmangler(or whatever its called) on GameBanana to turn it into this
Nope, it's up on the TF2 workshop though, so you can vote for it to get in the game.
and this is in TF2?
In the description, there's a link to the item's Workshop Sumbission page.
Where it asks "Would you like to see this item in-game", just click the big ol' YES button, and we'll all be one step closer to vapourizin' each other with BFG 9000s in TF2!
Vote for it on the Steam Workshop and it very well might be!
Except probably not because of licensing issues, but we can damn well try to get it in the game!
whats the problem? if is from doom its a good reference aint it?
Not sure if troll, but I'll take the bait regardless.
The original mod this is hexed from was called the BFG-9000 (you can find proof at the two links provided in the description.)
Because this is a hex of that mod, the name must remain the same as that mod due to copright.
Hexing the mod, but changing the name would be a form of copyright infringement; I would be taking that mod and passing it off under a different name, which as a result, would be passing it off as my own work and not crediting the original mod creator.
If you have a problem with the name, go complain to ZombiePlasticClock, the original mod author. He came up with the name, not me.
hahahaha
Please refer to my previous comment
The original mod was called The BFG 9000.
While 9001 would be funnier, the name wasn't changed because it's a direct hex of said mod, and I feel that changing the name wouldn't be paying respect to the original author.
It may also be a form of copyright infringement if I did that, taking someone else's work, then presenting to others but under a different name.
You should rename it: TF2 Hex: The BFG 9001
In your addons folder, look for a mod named "TF2 Hex; BFG-9000"
Alternatively, type in the search bar:
c_drg_cowmangler
And it should appear alongside the original Cow Mangler 5000
Hope this helps!
"Nope, not in the slightest, any similarities to any other weapons by the same name with the same effect wielded by a similar soldier in similar firey, demon-infested locations are completely coincidental."
But nah, in all seriousness, this basically IS the BFG-9000 from Doom.
True, but I felt that Soldier was a better fit for Doomguy; both of them often resort to violence as a primary response (Soldier is probably the most offensive class in TF2, and violence is basically Doomguy's only response to anything), and both are American (Soldier is, and Doomguy is basically the embodyment of ' 90's Macho Man Murica'-ism, similar to Duke Nukem), so it seemed like a no-brainer to give Soldier the role.
I was trying to mimic Doom 4's Doomguy, but Soldier doesn't have a lot of armour-like cosmetics, and the Whirly Warrior was the closest hat I could find to an orange-visored helmet.
