It's sadly too small, timings, rotations and flanks just happen way too quickly which means you can never reload.

@RatusNatus, Alexandria, my other map, is a little less of a serious project. It is literally the first map I ever made, and was never intended to be a finished project. You can look at it as a rough copy, almost. While Alexandria doesn't have a place in legitimate competitive play, it helped me greatly in learning the dynamics of mapping. Zen is meant to be a finished project, unlike Alexandria, but it has helped me learn mapping just as much :) I'll remember your suggestions if i ever commit to creating another map, which i may or may not. I plan on learning a game engine, and creating something from that. But csgo mapping is still a joy to me, and one day, I will pick it back up. Thank you for your time and effort, and most importantly, your input :)

@RatusNatus, Yeah you bring up good points. Those are the only two csgo maps i've ever made, and im still learning as I go. Balancing a map is a tough process, mainly determined by trial and error. It's impossible to look at a map and say whether or not it's balanced. It has to be tested so that it can be improved. Right now, Zen is in the best state it can be in, without completely re-making or majorly modifying it. Im happy and content with it. I appreciate your critisizm, however. I have anylized Zen quite thoroughly, and while it does have flaws, it works. And it works quite well. It is mainly a-symmetrical, meaning that there aren't too many compications. This naturally results in a relatively balanced map. Though I do acknowledge the flaws it does have, (some of which you brought up) I am happy with Zen in it's current state.

hey man, ive just checked your other map and i thing my previous comment is a pattern of your map creation.
Both maps do have several ways to TR go in to the bomb site and this is really bad to CT.

This is just a sugestion...to future creations.
Could be a good idea to add a Higher sniper position to CT side ONLY.
Like the building behind the CT respaw(A site) of your another map(that i dont remenber the name right now.

my point is, if you do maps with lots of entrys, you must give CT an advantage to make it fair. A higher ground could be the solution...

Dont get me wrong, i think you are a very good maper, is beatiful! but...
I do hope you keep your work, is an great work!

People used to dont like maps with lots of corners...because most people dont know how to play and those kind of maps make then stay more...like an statue!
Another thing is both bombs are hard to defend! Need more locations without taking shoots to stay! But it dosnt matter since there are lots of ways to get in the bomb an thats why i think it is unplayable.
When you do a map, there must be a position to TR become stuck! There are not in this map!

I tried the map with bots and my concern was that I get too low fps comparing to other maps. So I typed mat_wireframe 1 to the console and as I understand you didn't use areaportals for optimisation. IF the map gets into the operation, low-end pc players like me can't even play the map. My only suggestion is you need to use some areaportals or other stuffs to optimize the map.

@Eugene7, Yeah it veers a bit towards CT-sided, but it isn't a problem. Just kinda the nature of the map. It's not so unbalanced to the point of it being rediculous. But it also isn't as perfectly balanced as Dust 2. Think of Cache, it resembles that sort of balancing a bit. As for the invisible walls, most of them are in place to prevent overpowered boosts. Without them, gameplay would truely be unfair, but i do try to free up as much space as i can :)

Tbh I think you should update the map so we can jump to places where theres invis walls but they really dont have to be there, if you do that, I will really like this map to be an official map on CSGO

1. Screenshot [1] and [2], you can jump on both of these ledges, although there are clipbrushes on every other one of these ledges on the map.

2. Screenshot [3], the lamp sticks out of the clipbrush (not really important, but wanted to mention it, cause it pushes you a little bit).

3. Screenshot [4], you can stand on this small ledge, although it shouldn`t be possible.

4. Screenshot [5], you can jump on these 3 little pillars from the bridge, and you can do a really unfair boost to look towards B entrance, if you do a two man tower on these pillars Screenshot [6].

5. Screenshot [7] (forget to add [7] to the screenshot, but you know which one I mean), you can boost someone on this doorframe.

@Meurglis3, holy shit thats one hell of a navmesh XD It looks and plays amazingly! I just updated the map, it now has your navmesh in it. I put you in the credits, but if you accept my friend request i'll mark you as a contributor as well :)

1. Screenshot [1.1], you will get stuck right there because of the clipbrush over the door, you could lower the floor or change the clipbrush.

2. Screenshot [1.2], there is a small ledge that you can stand on, behind the carpet.

3. Screenshot [1.3], I really like the fact, that you can boost players almost everywhere on the map, to get a view on an other part of the map, but this 2 man boost is too op in my opinion, I think if you do it with 3 players its even more op. You can make the small boxes [1.4] unsolid and the problem is fixed.

4. Screenshot [1.5], I think you shoundlt be able to stand on top of these boxes.

I haven`t watched that much into the map this time, but I will go through the map tomorrow or tuesday again :)

Very well made map, textures and overall look is really good. However, as mentioned before, there's balance problems. Anyway, rated+.

@cDJ, thank you for finding these :) I fixed a few of those already earlier today XD There are a few bugs in there i havn't addressed though, such as the bomb hiding spots. I'll go around and fix any of those i see, thanks for bringing that to my attention. Also, thanks for sticking around to see Zen in it's almost finished state! You were a huge help back in the alpha :)

Fairly well balanced, leaning towards CT, but not enough to be a major issue. Framerate issues in top left corner experienced by 4 of 10 users. After hours of gameplay with friends, one recurring comment was the lack of boostable spots. Not being able to jump on the barrels seemed like a cheap cop-out. Otherwise an amazing map. 9/10. Would love to see this in competitive play.

Mid is still heavily CT sided, same as the version I reviewed in my video. There should be some sort of advantage for the T's. I love the map, it looks amazing now that it is fully textured and details, and like some of the layout changes you made.
