Report a translation problem
Sentinel Beam does like, 30-40 DPS at any range, you rapidly die simply by being in line of sight.
Sniper Rifle does 100DPS at close-mid range.
To put that in perspective, Shotgun has 50 close range DPS, and Battle Rifle has 20 close-mid range DPS.
So being shot from the other side of the map by a Sentinel Beam is a similar experience to standing right in front of a shotgunner, and a Sniper Rifle is worth 5 Battle Rifles even when not being used at long range.
