awesome mod, love how you took the existing stories and made something new. I do wish the colors for the civ units and borders were less full-bright and saturated though.

Sort of works. I'm not certain but this mod is conflicting with either a JDS civ or ethnic units mod. Far as I can tell its only the graphic on the unit which shows up as typical red and black checkerboard. The features seem to work but I could be wrong. Just something to watch for.

if you want to know the actual location of atlantis, i suggest you take a look at the Eye of the Sahara. there was a map depicting the location of atlantis and where it was generally located at the time of the creation of the map. if it was put to the rough estimates of how maps were made then compared to later on in years, in terms of accuracy or generalized version of it. the eye of the sahara is atlantis. or what remains of it.

Jesus the sheer number of people shitting on the creator for creating a new character for a game. Everyone with an internet connection and ten seconds of Google thinks they're the expert. Smdh.

"They were possibly one of the Sea Peoples depicted in ancient Egyptian records." Without a doubt, they weren't because Plato made Atlantis up for an allegory.

So..does anyone else have a problem with saved games with this mod? Am I too new to get you cant save games with mods and continue to play them?

Thoth is the Greek name for Djehuti or Tahuti, which is the original name for the Neter ("God") of knowledge and wisdom in the ancient Kemetic (Egyptian). Plato recounts the story of Atlantis from his descendant Solon centuries prior from an Egyptian librarian (priest) at the temple in Sais.
flameanatorx 29 Jul, 2020 @ 9:04am
Also though, the Thalamako replacing both Spearmen and Swordsmen doesn't really seem necessary flavor wise or for balance purposes, and reverting them to just a Spearmen replacement might fix a couple bugs people are having.
flameanatorx 29 Jul, 2020 @ 9:02am
I really love the flavor of everything here. And while the balance is certainly OP, for a mythical civilization like Atlantis, that's at least preferable to being UP, maybe even exactly the way it should be.

On a related note, for people who want to play this but in a more balanced state, editing XML files is actually pretty easy if you have Notepad++ installed (or just regular Notepad).

Probably just remove the faith from sea tiles from the UA and tone the Megalith Works down to +10% for starters. Could go a bit farther then that depending on your desired exact balance result.

Thoth Ampheres was not a leader in Atlantean tales, but a scholar of sorts, who told of the fall of Atlantis, and moved to Egypt later on.

I have noticed a bug, your Thalmako spearman replacement does not upgrade into the pike man, which really sucks since i have mad dozens of them
Kal.X 28 Dec, 2018 @ 9:59am
Great mod it deserves a 5/5. There's only 1 bug I've noticed, it has to do with lighthouse a creating city connection. They dont form connection between coastal cities.
Brunilo 22 Aug, 2018 @ 10:19pm
This mod has a compatibity issues with others mod?? It won't show in the mod list ><
JEELEN 13 Jul, 2018 @ 9:26pm
"They were possibly one of the Sea Peoples depicted in ancient Egyptian records. These drawings bear an uncanny resemblance to the Atlantes warrior statues of Mesoamerica. Were the Thalamako warriors that Ramses II fought cultural remnants of Atlantis?"

Eh, no. The Sea Peoples appeared during the later Ramessids, so Ramses II could not have fought 'cultural remnants of Atlantis,' which is a myth from a story by Plato, so they were also not one of the Sea Peoples.

So yes, fictional.
JEELEN 13 Jul, 2018 @ 9:18pm
@The Black Guy: Modded civs work just as regular civs. You can let the AI play it.
Poop 16 Mar, 2018 @ 8:34am
New to civ... can I have an AI play as this, or does it have to be me?
Canathan 14 Dec, 2017 @ 2:30pm

For those that subscribe but can't see Atlantis as playable civilization, you have to "ENABLE" the mod before clicking NEXT in the first mod screen.
Franki Drachenherz 28 Jul, 2017 @ 10:25am
ich finde es ausgesprochen gut, nur leider blockt es andere mods ab. ich habe eine mod die mir beim start einen siedler, arbeiter und scout gibt; funktioniert hier leider nicht.

Weird bug, it places a faith tile on any water tiles, but faith is ONLY generated from Ocean tiles.

And for strange reasons only this civ cannot establish connection with capital on water if running it with Community patch. May be thats why..
Monkey Spunk 10 Jan, 2017 @ 7:33pm
You forgot <Water>true</Water> for Firestone Lighthouse, so it can be built in any city, regardless of whether it's on the coast or not (even though it's a replacement for the vanilla Lighthouse).

Also, on Megalith Works, you forgot to put in the <Building_LocalResourceOrs>, so even though it replaces Stone Works, it doesn't require Stone or Marble to build. It just gives +2 Production, +1 Happiness, +15% Production towards Buildings AND Wonders in any old city.
(Dude, even if it needed the local resources though, this building would still be silly overpowered)
Monkey Spunk 10 Jan, 2017 @ 6:18pm
For Firestone Lighthouse, you used <Building_ResourceYieldChanges> instead of <Building_SeaResourceYieldChanges> for the "vanilla" lighthouse yields. It wouldn't matter, except that you didn't include Oil on the list, so unlike the normal Lighthouse, the Firestone Lighthouse doesn't affect Oil. And of course other sea resources from mods won't show up either (like Coral from the very popular and groovy "More Luxuries" mod).

Don't know if this was intentional or not (the building is already overpowered), but I just thought I'd bring it up in case it was an oversight. Great mod though!
