I would like to request a mod that turns dirt into sand (if one doesn't already exist), since I believe it's also a realistic feature (and would give players earlier access to sand, and thus earlier access to glass, through drying out the dirt).
lol
@Bobby Yeah, I'll put all my mods on maybe the CF forums or whatever in December. Sorry for making you wait so long!
Mixing dirt and water to make mud though? Nope, that's too much to ask, can't do it.
This is literally what Starbound is like without this mod.
...you do know there's already a mod like that in existance, right?
Even right here on Steam.
Useful for farmers, though.
And, yeah, bottles being consumed is pretty baffling from a realism perspective. It's pretty typical for these kinds of games, but I feel like it wouldn't hurt the balance to have consumables output empty bottles. I'm not sure if Starbound's game engine is set up to handle that, though.
In all honesty, dry sand should be smeltable into glass to start with, but it is not. and I have no doubt wet sand isn't, either. So damping it down or drying it up to useful sand is a good idea.
(Incidentally, why in the name of God can't you save the bottles when you drink water or such?)
No ssshoot living beingsss. If thisss Floran ssstab, Floran cut to cook food.
{Excellent. I heard that the blood of your enemies makes great fertilizer for your big garden}
???
@Garrus Excellent. I heard that the blood of your enemies makes great fertilizer for your big garden.
@tinyplasticgreyknight Thanks! I'm glad you like it
@awesomebenb It is a mystery. 👻
@Z.E.T. Ok, I'll see what I can do. My vacation time is over today so I can't promise to get anything done swiftly, though ^^;;
@Sera Starbound mods are srs bsns. ლ(☉౪ ⊙)ლ
* small, does just one thing and does it well (not like the "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" mods, which should really be a collection of related smaller mods)
* combines existing game elements in interesting ways (as opposed to merely introducing new elements)
* can be added/removed to a game in progress without screwing up the save file, since it only oversees interactions
Keep up the good work!
Just saying since it would be something that would have a large number of players that would benfit from it. Also I'm pretty sure Sayter (the lead dev of FU) is fine with people making add on for use with FU.
Now speaking of mods, I think I know something that could be useful that shouldn't be too complex. One of the biggest mods, Frackin' Universe, has an issue with painted blocks. Liquid interactions with blocks is in Starbound's code but is largely unused. Now in FU when say lava touchs cobblestone it transforms into red-hot cobblestone. If said stone block was painted, as say part of a famcy base, it would lead to an error that would render the whole planet unuseable (game crashes when you beam down). FU has a ton of liquids and a ton of block types they interact with so disabling it is not really worth it if the cost is limited painting of blocks.
