Can you do long island?

Hi mav12222, I use the program Wilbur to do geological editing to heightmaps, and it has the added plus of allowing you to rotate (and lots of other things) without loss of quality like in image editing programs. The links to the program and some tutorials for it are in my guide. Just look for the Wilbur section https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=482232215

What program did you use to rotoate the map 180 degrees without ruining the smoothness of the terrian?

Awesome, I hope it's somewhere near realistic? I have only driven past OMW to New England,

Maybe I can turn my old house into a monument! This is awesome! Great job!

I actually have been using unlimited money/unlock all twenty five tiles lately... I have more fun building than making certain goals. As such, I had no problem placing things. ;)

MrMaison! FALL TREES????? I'm trying to contain my potentially explosive excitement :D
MrMiyagi  [author] 31 Oct, 2016 @ 2:05am
Thanks for sharing the bit about the water Kyrion. It will be specifically difficult in this map which is why I made (rather, tried to make) an image with some advice. The rivers are definitely primarily just decoration, so in the beginning it's best to put the sewage out to LI Sound, maybe use that llittle spawn marked on the image as fresh water but mostly I think you'lll have to use water towers until you have enough shoreline on the sound to figure something else out.

Came shopping for a map to plant my new fall trees and found this gem by one of my favorite map makers! Thank you!! Looks awesome as always.

I did run into one issue with this map - I had to move my sewage around quite a bit until I settled in the southwest corner of the map, dumping into Long Island Sound. I was causing rivers to reverse direction! :) Nevertheless, this is a really, really fun map. I've sort of gone nutso with three cargo ports and a bit of an intricate road and rail web.

And man, getting the GWB made would be a blast.
Kyrion 30 Oct, 2016 @ 2:26pm
Love it. Column 1, row 2. I'm below Rt. 4 - about half a mile. :)
MrMiyagi  [author] 30 Oct, 2016 @ 9:28am
Wait, before I can talk with you Kyrion, is that Teaneck *above* Rt 4, or below? XD Kidding! But now you can tell Bergen is in the house! Did I get you in this one (Inside the blue squares) http://imgur.com/AtrVOUC I'm trying to get primarily nice views of Manhattan inside the play area for each map. This is the GWB map, Teaneck is just within the other corner
Kyrion 30 Oct, 2016 @ 5:17am
I'm literally about 500 yards form the Hackensack River and the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson. ;)
Kyrion 30 Oct, 2016 @ 5:15am
LOVE this map, and living in Teaneck over in Bergen, I hope you do this area!

Hey MrMiyagi, thanks for the response. specifically, i think a city such as Peekskill New York would make for a great map. It has a small upstate city feel while it is still pretty close to New York City. It is right along the Hudson River and much of the area along the river is currently being renovated to show all of the great views over the river, hills and mountains. Im not sure how the scaling of maps really works but you should also be able to fit Indian Point Power Plant which could be a really cool addition. There are also many other beautiful places around the city but i think this is really a great place. Anyway, i cannot wait to see what else you come out with in this series. You are a really talented map maker so i know evertything will look amazing! And if you have any questions i would be happy to answer them (as you probably guessed i live in the area). Thanks a lot, ill keep my eyes peeled:D
MrMiyagi  [author] 29 Oct, 2016 @ 10:43am
Hi chrisgilberti9... actually it is a very beautiful area, and it actually is on my wish list. My first hopes are for 2 or 3 in NNJ from Bergen, Hudson, upper Passaic. Newark/Elizabeth's massive port and infrastructure would be cool, but I'm not confident I can do that. I'm ok with nice terrain, but not with realistic infrastructure. Might be able to get some help on that ;)
Then after that comes your area. Have you taken a look at Sleepy Hollow map? It covers a large area (but both these maps have White Plains in the far unplayable corner). It will ideally be a section with access to the Hudson, which is why White Plains is a little problematic for game play.
At the moment, someone else is working on lower NJ - Perth Amboy and / or New Brunswick, which is why it's on the list above. So, lemme know which specific Upstate town you think would be cool to center on, and keep your eyes peeled :D

i know you showed where you were going to make next but i was wondering if u were planning on making maps of suburbs a little further north to white plains or even northern westchester county in peekskill. those areas are really beautiful and i would love to be able to build in there.
