Only thing is since KEEN made ore detector ranges variable upto max distance you'll need to tweak each ore detector blocks reception radius individually.

@+XRepearTal, Pretty sure it still works - Ore Detector function hasn't been touched by Keen in years and this is a simple settings tweak,.

any idea if this still works? I know there are some newer ones but these numbers seem good to me.

I was a bit hesitant to install this because I'm a purist survival player. However on my current playthrough I'd found one measly gold deposit and was searching beyond a 60km radius from my asteroid base with no luck. Just to give you an idea I loaded this while sitting in my asteroid base port and immediately one of the biggest gold deposits I have ever seen popped up 120m from where I was deep in the asteroid. Keen's mineral placement is flawed and this goes a long way, thank you.

not that i know of, did you check the range setting in the terminal, all detectors start with the vanilla range as default

Just to leave my thanks here and let everyone know, it workds like a charm. I wasted 3 hours on a moon, trying to find gold. After installing this mod, I found it after like 5 minutes, because it was 120m underground.

From what I saw people were saying it was with games made before the latest patch. Try making a new game and see if it works as intended.

check the range slider on your detector, sometimes keens updates sets old saves detectors or blueprinted ones to 1m

you should just be able to change the settings of existing detectors up to the higher maximum

After testing with vanilla setting and this mod I believe its a side effect of how keen have optimised the ore detection method.

It seems that instead of constantly scanning the game will now only scan while the grid is moving at set intervals and then update the hud, on vanilla detector ranges there is very little blinking as it updates the HUD, but larger ranges takes longer to calculate and makes the blinking more visible.

This mod still works, but for some reason it causes ore markers on HUD blink every few seconds, even for drill built-in detector. Without the mod there is no blinking.

i was going to say "Detectors are capped at 150 for large ship for me" but then i thought i should move it around a bit. if using the mod Real Steel place this mod above it. if this helps anyone then yay otherwise fml.

i can confirm this still works as intended, all it does is change the slider for ore detectors to have a higher maximum range (newly built detectors will start at this max range as default)

The problem with high ore detector range from the game itself is the extreme high server-client traffic and the amount of data to work for the server.

This mod seems to have turned some (but not all) asteroids pink/purple. when i unistall the mod it went back to normal

Seems like the mod gets "forgotten" on my MP server i.e. ore detector ranges get decreased back to their default max.

Are these separate blocks, or does it just increase the radius of the base blocks?
