Is this still a thing? If so, where can I compare the two versions?
ProvokingPerch  [author] 3 Mar, 2017 @ 11:15am
Should be.
[=VF=]-Ray Jefferson 2 Mar, 2017 @ 4:49am
Compatible with LW2?
ProvokingPerch  [author] 26 Feb, 2017 @ 4:11am
Done.

You may want to add Music Modding System as a Required Item to avoid confusion. I was wondering why this didn't seem to work in my game until I read the comment below. I'm excited to finally hear it!
ProvokingPerch  [author] 18 Feb, 2017 @ 12:04am
No problem.
StefanFr 17 Feb, 2017 @ 3:29pm
Huh, well then. It might just be something on my end, I have terrible luck with modding in general (on top of my general incompotence), but who really knows?
Thank you for looking into it anyway :)
ProvokingPerch  [author] 17 Feb, 2017 @ 3:25pm
Turns out I still have ths SDK installed, good good.

So I played the Last Hope player sound cue in the editor and all seemed good, so I would assume that this is just a (please excuse my complex and intricate modder jargain) weird bug.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 17 Feb, 2017 @ 3:20pm
Ah, sorry to hear about that unfortunate experience... however I'm confused as to why that would be. This is the first I'm 'hearing' of this(HAHAHAHAHhahahahsorry).

In any case, I will install the SDK and take a further delve into this to see if the mod is at fault.
StefanFr 17 Feb, 2017 @ 2:38pm
While the music itself is damn good, one of the tracks (Last Hope I believe it was? Correct me if I'm wrong) is incredibly loud compared to all the other tracks, only on player phase I might add.

True story: I just installed the mod, doing a mission, all sounds were at their respective defaults and whatnot. Then as soon as the action starts, a deafening fanfare erupted right into my ears and I nearly threw my headset across the room. And a while later, a different track plays (without messing with the settings) and it sounded perfectly fine.
Lydian 7 Feb, 2017 @ 1:51pm
Cool, thanks.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 7 Feb, 2017 @ 1:46pm
Moddable*
ProvokingPerch  [author] 7 Feb, 2017 @ 1:46pm
Sure does, as does every music mod. That's what actually makes the music moddablr.
Lydian 7 Feb, 2017 @ 1:02pm
Does this require Music Modding System?
ProvokingPerch  [author] 3 Feb, 2017 @ 10:17am
Try opening up XCOM 2's files, backtrack to SteamApps then type "ModPreview", scroll down until you see the thumbnail of this mod, right click it and select 'Open file location' then delete the mod. That might work.
Spuzz 3 Feb, 2017 @ 9:14am
How does one uninstall this mod? I have unsubscribed, verified the cache and reloaded Ini files, but the music is still replaced. The breaks and gaps in the mod's music are the reason I wanted to go back to the originals, but i don't seem to be able to now.
Bearo 31 Jan, 2017 @ 11:17am
Hmmm. It seems like the biggest different is Firaxis's edition makes the fanfare a bit bigger and the original has alot more misc sounds in it.

This example has actually made me appreciate the in-game version more, but im glad modders are making it possible to have these options still.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 20 Jan, 2017 @ 9:21am
Thyeanks.

Brakkey Gurdy I 25 Nov, 2016 @ 11:35am
Exactly.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 25 Nov, 2016 @ 9:39am
Oh right I getcha. So from the start?
Brakkey Gurdy I 24 Nov, 2016 @ 12:48pm
It starts at 00:45 and skips past a good buildup, making it so you have to wait for it to cycle: Listen to this version:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfSLD2IZ0aQ and you'll see.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 24 Nov, 2016 @ 9:07am
What's wrong with it?
Brakkey Gurdy I 23 Nov, 2016 @ 4:59pm
Could you fix the shell music next?
Dick Dastardly Richard 8 Nov, 2016 @ 4:36pm
Ok now I get it.
NovaGenetics 7 Nov, 2016 @ 2:56pm
Absolutely beautiful work on the restoration of the original soundtrack. Glad someone appreciates music like the rest of us.
Jiroguitar 7 Nov, 2016 @ 2:44pm
ambush (original) is incredible, thanks!
ProvokingPerch  [author] 7 Nov, 2016 @ 11:44am
Have you read the description?
ProvokingPerch  [author] 7 Nov, 2016 @ 11:43am
The OST in XCOM 2's files.
Dick Dastardly Richard 7 Nov, 2016 @ 11:23am
Not what I meant. I mean where did you get the originals? Where are they from?
ProvokingPerch  [author] 6 Nov, 2016 @ 11:35pm
Compare the two for yourself. I've included videos of each.
Dick Dastardly Richard 6 Nov, 2016 @ 7:46pm
Were these songs from Enemy Unknown or something? I don't get how there are original versions....
ProvokingPerch  [author] 5 Nov, 2016 @ 3:02pm
But they can coexist if you go into the configs and remove the parts where I take the original songs out of XCOMTacticalSound. They have a "-" at the start of them.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 5 Nov, 2016 @ 3:01pm
No they do not.
Vortex ♀ Pixalation 5 Nov, 2016 @ 1:11pm
there the same songs, why would you want two of the same songs in the playlist
A Very Kupo Guy 5 Nov, 2016 @ 12:42pm
Do these coexist with the original versions? Because I don't want to have to choose one or the other...
ProvokingPerch  [author] 4 Nov, 2016 @ 4:55pm
You are quite welcome and thank you.
Deckape964 4 Nov, 2016 @ 2:17pm
Thank's I didnt realise how much better (to my ear) the music is good work!
ProvokingPerch  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 2:26pm
**modest bow**
Struecker 3 Nov, 2016 @ 12:19pm
Bravo, Perch, Bravo! I felt that Firaxis really took the power out of the original pieces. Glad to see someone brought them back! 10/10
Vortex ♀ Pixalation 3 Nov, 2016 @ 12:17pm
Perch buddy, you did it, Fantastic work :3 ^-^
Phnx 3 Nov, 2016 @ 2:02am
@ProvokingPerch That's exactly what I mean. That effect probably isn't very audible with VO and gunfire on top and just adds noise. At least that's my theory. :)
ProvokingPerch  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 12:42am
Also I'm gonna see if I can reduce the filesize of this mod somewhat, at the moment I don't think 3 tracks can justify a 100MB download.
ProvokingPerch  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 12:41am
@Phnx Eh, we're very much in opinion territory here. Personally I think that the vanilla version of Ambush is much more flat and stagnant, whereas the original version feels a lot more dynamic and unique, especially with that awesome effect around one minute in.

@d_valroth Yeah, I can understand why they edited the tracks and their intentions, but it felt like too muich, at least to me. Although I think that the ingame version of Outpost is pretty nice.

@NousPrimacy thenka u c:
Phnx 2 Nov, 2016 @ 7:31pm
I guess what they did was modify the tracks so that they are still quite audible with all the FX and VO layered on top. Your work is better suited for listening to and enjoying purely music and nothing else. :)
d_valroth 2 Nov, 2016 @ 5:52pm
The originals have a wider soundscape, but the modified versions have more strength. The option to choose is nice though.
Lux Manifestus 2 Nov, 2016 @ 3:18pm
The original tracks are better. Awesome, thanks
