YES YES
OH MY GOD!!!!
IT WAS PEAK!!!
MLG NOSCOPE OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!
Violent option suggestion was asked long ago and it exists with protections to keep you from breaking the main quest line entirely.
As per included diagrams once you learn the of Odahviing (which happens in either of these quests the Blades have outlived their backstabing author enforced usefulness)
The Fallen (mq301), Season Unending (mq302)
A monitor script will also clear their flags if your already past that point so if you want to you should be able to shout them off a mountain forever. (Tested... a lot, had to make sure it worked properly)
Note that during development I noticed the way Skyrim modding works is quite poorly designed.
Check your quest statuses by using the console and check, (Please provide the output of these commands)
player.sqs MQPaarthurnax
player.sqs MQ00_MonitorAddonV2
Please note that since this is free work response times may be random to forever. (Also I can probably just say what went wrong)
I’m almost done some major projects and still have my ancient save files, test case saves, and some friends saves that I can run against the recent patch level.
Technically speaking there is no way this mod can kill Paarthurnax it doesn't handle anything not even reviving anyone it just adds dialog, and monitors quest flags and disables essential status on two certain individuals and lets you skip quest stages. The graph attached show the flow of the modifications and code can be obtained from the files and it was checked quick throughourly when I developed it way back then.
A recent patch may retroactively killed paarthurnax but that would have to be done by Beth not me. I don't even use the same quest endpoint stage.
If anyone has problems please attach your player.sqs outputs, savegame, DLC used, and patch level as well as anything different than vanilla Skyrim. (Note I only can run the stock game at latest patch level without other mods, unclean mods or using more than one mod that touches these quests can break things in horrible and uncontrollable ways)
I TRUSTED THIS MOD!!!!!!!
Like I said.. a totally unrelated line to this mod but I think somewhere along the line a mod I have had updated or conflicted with a game update, I just havent found out which one yet.
Note: Depending on what beth did to their quest features the monitor script (MQ00_MonitorAddonV2) may not be able to start which in some cases may prevent you from ending certain actors lives. (There are redundant triggers as well, I ran into so many bugs while learning that I haven't tried again for quite some time. Although I have a new computer that can run everything from a ram disk so the editor is much snappier)
@Alliecienti I don't think this mod interacts with the Blades autogen quests as I specifically made it so the quest marks it as complete in their mind for whatever reason unless you choose one of the other options where Delphine would be unable to talk. The quests are really quite boring so I never really bothered creating the saves to test against. If you can post or send your save somehow I can test it time permitting.
The only bug, and I'm not sure that it's related to this change, is that I couldn't get Delphine to make one of my followers a Blade.
So far on this current character I havent gotten this far in the Questline.. too busy running Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests currently.
Win.
Then i can beat the thalmor after they kill the blades. It's phun :3
When I have free time again I might try to expand upon this and figure out beth's messy modding system. Also I'll make any of my mods more verbose in the script logs and for now you can also just try typing into the console ( sqs MQPaarthurnax and the stages should show up as in the diagrams above and if it is stuck and you can post this it would be nice )
But to anyone still reading the flow chart provided shows how the options are unlocked. And I also tried at one point to create a version that can be removed without affecting the save file but it caused all sorts of beth bugs to occur.
I did give approval to some people who wanted to translate the mod but they should have an attributation to a nexus mod of the same name and author.
