Does anyone know why this would not work anymore? I do have several other things subscribed, but none that I am aware of are strictly for the death sounds, unless general sounds includes death sounds. I do miss this. Unsubscribing and then resubscribing does not overwrite what I already have, so unless I do a complete deletion of all subbed items...

I like this a lot. I just wish it would play a little longer upon the player's death itself or if random just have the longer version of the sound bite to spruce it up a bit. Not the whole song of course, just a little longer.

At first I wanted to have it trigger only when you die but just as you assumed all the death sounds are shared. There are 20 or so variations of dying sounds but the game makes no distinction between yourself dying or others. I’ve gone through game_sounds_player.txt and so far I haven't found a way for it to trigger only when the player dies. I’ll try asking Rebel_Y if it is possible

If you want advice for how to improve it, I'd say making it so that it only triggers when
A. You kill someone, or
B. Someone kills you, if that's possible.
I don't know about the logistics of that though, since I assume all deaths use the same sound. If you did manage to make it have a specific trigger, I'd be inclined to like it in a less ironic fashion.

at first this addon was hilarious, but after a while i had to unsubscribe from it because i heard the death sound every 0.5 seconds, which can get annoying. overall a good addon, i wish i could stand listening it over and over again...

Despite this scathing review, I'm still giving this 4/5 stars.
Why? Well, I completely expected it to be awful, but it really out did my expectations in that department. To say, it's a rating that emphasises the fact it manages to really excell in it's own shitty, shitty way. However, I can't give it 5 stars in good conscience as I feel that would mislead other people into believing that this was anything you would ever want to experience in your life.


To note, the rating I am giving it is not a reflection of how good it is. If it were, the true rating would be one star.

Never before have I encountered a mod that made me lust for the sweet release of death. This is in a theoretical sense of course, as actual death would just utter yet another 'Mmm whatcha say', which would be counter-intuitive.

It doesn't lie. It clearly states 'all' deaths and does in fact mean ALL deaths.
3 feet in front of you? Yup.
Across the map? Most definitely.
Like 4 people die at once? Saddle up boyo and prepare your ears for the most un-harmonic sound you can think of.
It's not so bad the first time. But what about the next? Or the 13 hundreth?

The fact that none of them are ever actually in tune actually manages to make the already horrible situation somehow worse.

I warn anyone that goes to install this mod to seriously consider your life choices before doing so.
